below is given a short proof that we all know very little
Q.E.D.
- there is a 'right' way to pray. this is evident by Luke 18:10-14, Luke 11:1-2, etc.
- 'the right way to pray' can be described by some set of attributes, one of which is this:
- Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition.
- (Ephesians 6:18)
- Pray without ceasing
- (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
- Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition.
- therefore every moment, as small as a moment may be measured, that we are not praying, we are not in a state of 'the right way to pray'
- call this, 'the wrong way to pray'
- 'the wrong way to pray' can also be described by some set of attributes. one of those attributes, for us as believers, is this:
- In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how we ought to pray, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words.
- (Romans 8:26)
- In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how we ought to pray, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words.
- 'we do not know how we ought to pray' is therefore part of the set of attributes that describes us every moment, as small as a moment may be measured, during which we are not praying in 'the right way to pray'
- i.e. every countable moment of time we do not spend in perfect prayer represents a moment of our ignorance of something in the body of knowledge which is 'the right way to pray'
- not presented here is a detailed estimate of the number of nanoseconds the reader has spent / is spending / will spend not in in perfect prayer; it is assumed to be a very large number.
