Tongues is God brining new prophecy (the word of God) in other understandable languages other than Hebrew alone.
Tongues is not prophecy, and prophecy is not tongues. Why do you keep repeating this error?

What Philip's daughters prophesied is not recorded in Scripture, as I have stated at least three times.

No, according to 1 Corinthians 12 and 14.
If it not recorded why mention it? Does it reveal a law by which we could know God more adequately. Why go above that which is written. What's missing from the book of prophecy (the Bible) ?

What is the context of the prophecy not recorded in the word of God ?Is the sky the limit just believe something?
Read it for yourself. The primary example is in Acts 21.

The truth does not change . What is prophecy in respect to Christ? What does it mean to prophecy if not to declare prophecy , God's word?

I would encourage you to try to follow the argument. Because the prophecies given by Philip's daughters are not recorded in Scripture, it is established that not all prophecy is Scripture. Therefore, it is possible that God would continue to give prophecy today with no intent to add to Scripture.

And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.Acts 21:L9

Ok I read it they did prophesy (declared the living word of God ) Its what prophets do declare the gospel. Its what you what doing.

God's word may be to edify, exhort, and comfort, as stated in 1 Cor 14:3. That might be very specific to a person in a particular context, and irrelevant to every other believer. God is personal as well as holy.

Big difference between prophecy (the word of God) and prophecy (declare the word of God ) We should be careful on how we hear God or the seed could be snatched.

So if all Philip's daughters did when "prophesying" is "declaring the gospel", what was Agabus doing two verses later? Declaring the gospel? No. He was declaring the future in a very specific context, and it was not "good news"!

Prophesying cannot mean "declaring the gospel" in verse 9, and something quite different two verses later. That is unsupportable.

Facepalm. I have nothing else. You could at least spell the verb form correctly; it has an 's', not a 'c'.

The Holy Spirit does not lead you into unfruitful prayer. The Holy Spirit is a revealer of truth and knowledge. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth.

and you know if my prayers are fruitful or unfruitful?

of for sure the Holy Spirit leads us into truth but it seems some folks either don't care to listen or think God messed up with some parts of the NT

the Holy Spirit is not YOUR personal truth. your anti tongues bias is YOUR personal truth

if I remember correctly, he said the entire Bible is prophecy

so there is no way a determination can be made with the specific meaning behind the word when speaking with him

Shrume addressed this at length, but I'll add one point...

1 Cor 14:14 (NASB) says, "For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful."

It doesn't say the prayer is unfruitful, and you are interpreting "unfruitful" to mean "useless". I suggest you consider an alternate meaning which I believe fits the context better: "disengaged". Other translations say, "unproductive".

If only my spirit prays, my mind is disengaged. (Paul goes on...) So I will pray with my spirit and I will pray with the mind (thereby engaging it) .
You are making this up. Nothing in the chapter suggests that praying in an unknown tongue is an activity that produces anything fruitful in the Christian life.

Romans 8 says that we are adopted sons of God. We are able to call God Abba Father. Why would we want to approach Him hiding behind a vail of no understanding what we pray?

LOL I give you scripture and all you can do is blame me for what Gods word says.

You have yourself convinced that you are correct. Scripture does not support your position.

that's right. ignore what I said about whether or not you can possibly know if my prayers are frutiful or unfrutiful

we can all see right through you. even your cessationst in arms friends here, can see you have just deflected what I said, made up some blame game nonsense and then tried to say I convinced myself of something

grow up and try to actually respond to what I said instead of pretending you found it funny and then throwing some Roger the Dodger handmade excuses into the mix

again... do you know if my prayers are fruitful or unfruitful?

the ONLY answer is OF COURSE NOT

you have no more proof of what you say then I have proof you have bat ears and fly around at night

Prophesying means "declaring the gospel" in any verse.

Some think prophecy's sole purpose was to point ahead. or predict the future... one of its purpose . Prophecy which was written after things happened gives us an accurate account of one doing the work .

The first words of prophecy.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Gen 1:1

The last words of prophecy.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.Revelation 21:21
