About which part? He told me himself that one of the worst things to say to him is "get over it" or "get over yourself". And it is common knowledge that many people commit suicide because of what you just told him in your previous post..

get over yourself! and TRUST in the Scriptures,!!!
It is hard to get over yourself and trust in scripture when you are in agonizing mental anguish. I have been where he now is and it is a very dark, lonely, and isolated place. I will pray for a spiritual, physical and financial break-through for this hurting person. There are many other 'least of the brothers and sisters' out there as well that could use a good friend.

Well D, depression will rob you of all that God wants for you. Quit poisoning yourself, quit self-medicating before you wind up killing yourself. It may seem like death is an answer, but that is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Examine the spirit of bitterness that is upon you. Speak to it and tell it to depart and believe. I have been where you are and I will certainly pray for you.

Oh my Lord, such a God inspired statement...

we both have certainly been to the bottom line of 'depression' and several eras in our own, individual lifetimes.

when Jesus began to deliver and then 'unite' us with HIM, that was the very beginning of our real
'assurance and joy'...

the sorrowful roads in-between', well, some of us come to learn that this is 'life'....

we all have to learn, and can only learn this from our Saviour, that we must separate the
emotional wheat from the chaff...'For I can do all things through Christ Jesus whom strengthens me'.

I have found this helpful at times.

Autobiography in Five Short Chapters
by Portia Nelson
  1. I walk down the street.
There's a deep hole in the sidewalk.
    I fall in.
    I am lost.....I am helpless;
    it isn't my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.
  2. I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
    I pretend I don't see it.
    I fall in again.
    I can't believe I am in the same place;
    but it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.
  3. I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
    I see it is there.
    I still fall in....it's a habit.
    My eyes are open.
    I know where I am.
    It is my fault.
    I get out immediately.
  4. I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
    I walk around it.
  5. I walk down a different street.

This is what I know. When you are in that deep hole, no amount of reason can get you out. Unless you have been in that hole yourself, it is virtually impossible to explain it to those that have never been in it what it is like.

My hole was so deep, was so dark, was so without hope, that I am CERTAIN that as cliche as it may sound, it was the Lord that brought me out of it. It had nothing to do with my faith in Him. It was Him and Him alone that held me up when I thought all was lost.

So this is what the Lord did. He sustained me through the 1st day in the pit. The 2nd, 3rd, 4th and more as well. Little by little He showed me the Way out. He revealed Himself to me in unmistakable ways, and solidified in me that He loved me and forgave me ALL my transgressions. I can look back now and see His Fingerprints and Footsteps all through my life.

I write this in the hope that it may comfort you to know that you are not alone in what you are going through, and though it may seem hopeless, your Heavenly Father loves YOU, and will come to get His little boy out of that hole you are in.

Dear Holy Father, I ask that you reach DEEP into this young man, and reveal Your Love to him. Let him know just how precious he is in Your sight. Remove any worries, any fears, any unclean spirits that harass him. I ask this in Your Son Jesus" sweet and beautiful Name.

beautiful and touching words. all of this is invaluable to me. I appreciate you sharing with me about your own crawl in the pit and how the Lord saved you. I am praying for a glimpse of the light. For God's guidance out a dark pit where all hope seems long absent. Thank you for your words of encouragement and prayer. I hope to tell you soon how I am able to look back in the same way and talk about God's fingerprints and footsteps becoming suddenly clear to me out of all this bleakness. God bless you.

Thankyou PennEd, could not have said it any better. This is my very experience with Jesus' help in some of my darkest hours/days/months/years as well.
And yes: one is unable to find the right words, because one is so surprised and plainly speechless, at what He can do in His power to sustain & eventually heal you. All you can do is thank & praise Him! And hopefully be an encouragement to others, who are stuck in a similar situation.

Amen!

I am aware that a depession can be caused by a brain chemical imbalance(so get this checked out too) but I oftentimes find that it is much more complex & there are certain situations which set it off. I can only speak for myself here: I knew why I was in that state & it had nothing to do with a "brain imbalance", but a "spiritual one" and that I had to trust in Jesus! Even though at times I didn't have the strength to pray, I am certain the Holy Spirit did that for me:

~Romans 8, 26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. ~

Dear dpecheur10, I am so sorry to hear, you are going through trouble right now, but please rest assured, that Jesus is with you at ALL times & that you will come through this trusting God even more & being a stronger Child of His!

Heavenly Father, wonderful God and Abba, we raise up dpecheur10 before You.
You know what's going on in his life, and we thank You for always protecting him by Your grace, held in Your love and mercy. Let him be filled with Your peace and let everything and everyone he needs be accessible to him. Let everything work in his favour but in Your will. Protect him and keep him safely under Your wings.
We thank You, that You are always there when life is hard, but also for the beautiful things in life which You give to us. Give him the strength, that can only come from You, to overcome. I thank you, Lord, for all the kindness you have shown and continue showing to us over and over again, your compassion in all situations, your generosity, wisdom and love.
In Jesu' Namen bete ich,
Amen.

God bless you richly!

:)

I totally understand that at times life can seem to be so overwhelming and that it is impossible to go on...… All I can say is start with baby steps and if we look at babies as they learn to walk they fall down a lot. Walking is controlled falling....

Start small first with prayer and then pick up your Bible and start with Psalms as lots of the chapters are small and easy to get through plus David was struggling a lot too always crying out to the Lord for help. Take this baby step each day when you wake up before the day starts and gets impossible for you.

Then seek to get help from a professional, whether it is your pastor, doctor and get some help and build a support system included family member or trusted friend to talk about these issues and use them as a sounding board to help you gain strength and help encourage your self esteem....

Just as a baby learning to walk these improvements don't happen overnight. But babies seem to not give up trying and no matter how many times they fall down they get back up and try again... Remember God is on your side and He is there beside you to help you get back up an try again no matter how many times you fall down. God will never give up on you remember that so don't give up on yourself and like babies... Keep trying till you are able to stand on your own two feet again and walk life in the way you want to.

Prayers and a hug to get you started with your baby steps.....God is with you all the way.
