Stuart Hamm, bassist for Joe Satriani in the 80's, I remember actually seeing this same performance at the boat house in Norfolk Va. That year in 88

I love listening to live orchestra play! It’s such an amazing experience.
There is something beautiful about real instruments as opposed to a load of electronic noise.

I really can't stand rap because it takes very little talent and is usually either violent or sexually explicit. Total garbage in my opinion. Certainly not spiritually edifying either. Yes, a lot of rap you can't even make out the words. Just as well though as they are probably meaningless.
Here you go Jerry...

Karen Carpenter was a good drummer.

She definitely set the bar for female drummers :) was she the earliest female drummer to make mainstream?

Wow, that’s impressive. It sounds like an electric guitar - I like it.

You know what Lucy, you’re absolutely right. At my sisters University graduation, they had a live orchestra play during the intermissions, it was so moving and got me teary. There’s something about hearing and watching live musicians play instruments.

“I am sparcutus”! - lol this is a snippet from the movie I mentioned before “That Thing You Do” directed by Tom Hanks. All of the cast didn’t know how to play their instruments until they were coached, including this guy playing the drums......

How to learn violin the easy way.

All you need is an ukulele (or any other small four-string instrument). Ideally the distance between nut and bridge should be about 32,5 cm, if you are going to use violin strings. Then you tune your ukulele as if it were a violin (E, A, D, G - from bottom to top). If you already play the guitar, you can learn the violin by yourself. After you get familiar with violin fingering, then you can buy a violin and start to learn how to use the bow and other things. This was how I learned the violin and the viola.

Even after you are proficient in violin/viola the ukulele will be useful to practice new tunes. I still use my ukulele because it is much handier than a bow instrument -- I can play it even while lying in bed.

This is so true! :) One of the reasons why I was drawn to playing guitar is because of how expressive music was, and watching the guitarist, you could SEE a lot of emotion going into their playing, and relate on a level that totally transcended the need for any words.

This video is great! First you'll hear both voices, then you'll hear only the secondary voice (Garfunkel) and you can sing the main voice (along with the video). Thirdly you will hear the main voice (Simon) and you can sing the secondary voice.
