No, not at all.
It is my (probably fruitless) hope that this will not become yet another in a sea of osas debates.
Instead, I'd like to know why this subject is sooo important that people feel the need to debate it until they puke?
You actually believe this? That explains a lot! Were I to fully participate in a thread with a title as this i WOULD BE AS GUILTY AS THOSE PAGANS WHO FOLLOW ME AROUND TELLING ME I am under the law because I choose to believe and obey Jesus Christ. I do not wish to be as they so I am not coming back. God bless you.........j
Positional righteousness and effectual righteousness go hand in hand. You ARE righteous therefore your spirit desires the ways of God. If you tell people they are unrighteous, and they have to try to be righteous of their own accord, where’s the power of the gospel in that?
1 Corinthians 3 proves that a born again believer can get caught up in this world and live carnal, have the works burned at the JSOC and still be saved eternally. This example of a believer will have their rewards taken from them.
Since WHEN does a sinner have a good & honest heart?!?People who do not hear the word with a good and honest heart and having "no root" and "no fruit" do not experience real salvation.
If the plant is growing, the roots are fine.Does the passage of scripture say very well rooted? Is a fruitless faith a living faith or a dead faith?
Does the fruit matter?Speculation and faith without works is dead. Where is the FRUIT?
In Luke 8:15, we read - But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance (NASB). Are you disagreeing with God in Luke 8:15? Good soil represents a person properly preapared in heart who having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keeps it and bears fruit with patience (NKJV).Since WHEN does a sinner have a good & honest heart?!?
Even if one could make a case for the plant in the thorny soil having some type of root system, the roots are not fine because the plant is not rooted in a regenerate heart, unlike the good ground hearer, who heard the word with an honest and good heart and produced fruit with perseverance, unlike the rocky and thorny soil.If the plant is growing, the roots are fine.
The seed that fell on rocky ground was said to have "no root." (Matthew 13:6; 13:21; Mark 4:6; 4:17; Luke 8:13). He said there definitely are roots in the shallow soil and in the soil overrun with weeds. Is he correct about the rocky ground according to Matthew 13:6; 13:21; Mark 4:6; 4:17; Luke 8:13? Even if he could make a case for there being roots in the thorny soil, it doesn't really matter because it's not rooted in a regenerate heart and produces NO FRUIT, unlike the good soil. You don't want to confess he is correct, that's all.
Fruitless faith is dead faith and you refuse to agree with that for the sake of your biased doctrine. There's other scriptures that say the same thing, & you don't agree with them either.
Fruit absolutely matters (Matthew 7:15-20).Does the fruit matter?
You don't think it matters?Since you think so, explain the parable of the barren fig tree.
Luke 13
The Parable of the Barren Fig Tree
You are missing the point of the parable of the fig tree. Jesus told this parable after reminding His listeners of a tower over the pool of Siloam which unexpectedly fell and people were killed. In Luke 13:3, we see the moral of the story is, "unless you repent, you will likewise perish." To reiterate this moral, Jesus tells the story of the fig tree.6And he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. 7And he said to the vinedresser, ‘Look, for three years now I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I find none. Cut it down. Why should it use up the ground?’ 8And he answered him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and put on manure. 9Then if it should bear fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.’”
Here's a full grown fig tree that had not born fruit for 3 years, & was going to be cut down if nothing in another year.
If it wasn't full grown, the owner would have expected nothing from a sapling, now would he?
Well, at least I can say I started a thread that went on for more than 3 pages.
Sigh
Anyone can do that, you just title your thread "Saturday is the real Sabbath" and voila it will go on forever.....
That would be unending for sure. I bet one that was titled "This thread is NOT about OSAS" would be too.
If the plant is growing, the roots are fine.
You don't want to confess he is correct, that's all.
There's other scriptures that say the same thing, & you don't agree with them either.
Or "Tongues is...." will do the sameAnyone can do that, you just title your thread "Saturday is the real Sabbath" and voila it will go on forever.....![]()
Which is why I tried - but failed - to point out how absolutely useless this discussion isLOL the same topics over and over and over and............................................
You hit the nail on the head!i love how workers yell and scream fruit must be accompanied by faith or else. Then when it comes down to it. Will say one can have faith and no fruit and still be saved.
you can’t have it both ways!
