the next question from 7127

"What do you think the OLD Covenant is and what makes up the laws of the OLD COVENANT and what are their purpose and how to they relate to the NEW COVENANT?"

i read three questions here

the first
"What do you think the OLD Covenant is"

there are many covenants in the old testament

this is the one i think of as the old covenant

Jeremiah 31: 32 ...the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt...
Indeed there are many Covenants our question though is in relation to the OLD COVENANT or Mosaic. Shall we start there as that is a collection of all of them for the OLD Testament scriptures.

Hi Brother LGF

Is do not kill civil law or criminal law

how about this

[h=1]Numbers 15:32-36 King James Version (KJV)[/h]32 And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day.
33 And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation.
34 And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him.
35 And the Lord said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp.
36 And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the Lord commanded Moses.

is this civil law or criminal law

you say it is civil law, am I correct?

Did the Bible has criminal law? Give me sample and a verse that say bible have criminal law

Hello dear, When I asked you if you read my posts that answer all your questions with scriture from...

CLICK ME FOR COL 2:14-17

CLICK HERE; WHAT MAKES UP THE OLD COVENANT?

CLICK HERE; SHADOW LAWS OF THE OLD COVENANT?.

CLICK HERE; WHY THE SABBATH CANNOT BE A CEREMONIAL LAW?

CLICK HERE: WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO ENTER GOD'S REST?

Your reply was that you do not read them.....

So my experience dear is that you just told me you do not read my posts so how would you know what I say to you if you do not read my posts and do not reply to them with all the scriptures that answer your questions and disagree with you?

It seems you are just making things up now because you have no where to hide. It is hard to see dear when you close your eyes and ears to the Word of God. ONLY God's Word is true and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW it over the traditions and teachings of men that break the commandments of God.

SIN is the breaking of God's Commandments (James 2:9-11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4)

Those who CONTINUE in UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

.......................

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

the idea of proving things on an internet forum

I've posted scripture that proves what i say is true

but others interpret that same scripture differently

what then is to be done?
The only thing to do is to recognize that those, who are brainwashed by E,G, White's heretical writings, are unwilling or unable to accept sound Biblical teaching; and having recognized that you address them accordingly, if at all.

Hello MarcR,

Here your are again having no scripture no scripture to share to prove your tradition speaking your own words over God's WORD.

If you reject God's WORD none will judge but the WORD you reject in the last days.

He who God sends speaks the WORDS of GOD and he gives not the Spirit by measure unto him. The WORDS that I speak unto you they are Spirit and they are life. These are not my WORDS but the WORDS of him who sends me.

You speak your own words and speak of yourself it is clear you do not KNOW him because you share your words over God's.

We must ask our heavenly farther to have eyes to see and ears to hear so that we can know his Words that he freely give to all who come. He is knocking at the door. Who will open the door and let him in?

How can you find God's WORD when you have no WORD? How will you find your way when the road is dark and narrow and your lamp has gone out. You will indeed fall into a ditch dug by your own making because you did not listen to the king of the highway.

In Christ we can only find peace and love. We must follow him because we love him.

God's Sheep hear his voice.

EGW wasn't quoted as far as i know, so stop attacking the church or the people of that church and use your bible to disprove the beliefs. When you start to attack these types of things it is a sign that you have nothing to respond with. Truth is in the word of God.

Jas 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
Jas 2:9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
Jas 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
Jas 2:11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
Jas 2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

The 4th commandment is one of the 10 commandments which is part of the law that is being quoted above. Explain how you are free to ignore this law?

While we are at it. Why did GOD through James call IT the Law of Liberty?

In James 1:18 God says, Of his own will begat he us to the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

A New creation in Christ Jesus begotten to the Word of Truth. Walking in newness of life.

Paul writes through The Spirit in Colossians, "Having put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge, after the image of him that created him. Therefore he reasons, put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds".

This is what James is alluding to. That we should be a kind of first fruits of His creatures. Please lesson carefully as we continue in James 1:21, "lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word."

The engrafted Word, His commandants written in the heart and mind, the Law of Liberty. The Law of freedom, freedom from the slavery of sin through engrafted Word. For God had said through Yoshua (Jesus), Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant ( the sinner) abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

For He has said, the Word (the Law; Christ) is nigh thee (engrafted) in thy mouth and thy heart that we may do it, This is which is able to save your souls. So Be ye doers of the (engrafted) word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the (engrafted) word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass, but forgot what manner man he was. Which is now the new man which is after the image of Him who created him. For of His own will begat He us, to do by nature the things contained in the law, showing the work of the law written in our hearts, being partakers of His divine nature.

But whoso looketh into the perfect Law of Liberty, that which is begotten of Him, the new man after the image of Him that created him. Being The first fruit of His creatures, renewed through the law; His Word engrafted in the heart and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. (Col 3:8-10;Rom 2:14-15; 2Pe 1:3,4; John 8:34-36; 1Pe 2:24-25; Rom 6:6-7; Col 2:11-12; Jas 1:18, 21-25; Heb 8:10; Rom 8:10 KJV)

The perfect law of liberty otherwise known as the perfect law of freedom
But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

It is a spiritual awakening
To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house. I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
(Isa 42:7-8)

That is the mission of Christ is to proclaim:-
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; (Isa 61:1) The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, (Luk 4:18)

The truth is the instrument that shall set you free
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
(Joh 8:32)

It is the new law of life that sets us free
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
(Rom 8:2)

The liberty is found in the presence of the Lord's Spirit
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
(2Co 3:17)

Beware of those under the law who see to rob us of the perfect law of liberty
Pretending to be believers, these men slipped into our group as spies, in order to find out about the freedom we have through our union with Christ Jesus. They wanted to make slaves of us,
(Gal 2:4)

'Fear God and Keep His Commandments, for 'this is the whole DUTY of man'...
i think most Christians want to keep God's commandments

a question to discuss is Which ones?

shall we keep this one
Deuteronomy 25: 5. If brothers dwell together, and one of them die, and have no son, the wife of the dead shall not be married outside to a stranger: her husband's brother shall go in to her, and take her to him as wife, and perform the duty of a husband's brother to her.

This is tremendously good. We become lawabiding in our inside, our heart, when we trust Him to finish the good work He started in us. And there is no law against the Spirit. If the inside of the cup is clean, the outside just will be as well. Men judge by the outside. God judges correctly, by the inside.

add i read it, when James says the Law of Liberty he's basically saying what Paul is saying here

Galatians 6: 2. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

James 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
James 2:9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

The royal law is the law of liberty.

Whereas, the law of Moses is the law of bondage that convinces transgressors they need a higher law that can free them.

The commandments of Jesus are the new commandments of the royal law.

To teach bondage to the law of Moses is to utterly fail to understand and appreciate the royal law.

For, the law of Moses can’t set a man free to obey God in the Spirit.

The law of Moses leads folks to thinking that the righteousness of God is fulfilled by folks not breaking the law. A rather woeful notion of righteousness seems to me.

But the royal law of God’s love presents righteousness as beyond the letter of laws.

Satan philosophizes that love is bondage.

But Jesus by his resurrection proves that God’s love is eternal life and freedom. Love does seem to be bondage to rebels.

This is tremendously good. We become law abiding in our inside, our heart, when we trust Him to finish the good work He started in us. And there is no law against the Spirit. If the inside of the cup is clean, the outside just will be as well. Men judge by the outside. God judges correctly, by the inside.
And it is on our heart where God wrote His laws. Consequently I keep Sunday as the Lord's day, and I would feel guilty if I did not. :)

the next question from 7127

"What do you think the OLD Covenant is and what makes up the laws of the OLD COVENANT and what are their purpose and how to they relate to the NEW COVENANT?"

i read three questions here

the first
"What do you think the OLD Covenant is"

there are many covenants in the old testament

this is the one i think of as the old covenant

Jeremiah 31: 32 ...the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt...
Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Before this, how were people to hear the Word of God? Was it not through the Levitical Priesthood?

11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,)

So isn't Jesus saying that we no longer need to receive His Law from the Levites? And here we are, each of us having access to the Word of God without any filter, and man to be between us and the His Holy Word. But where is there any mention of Jesus changing the instructions He created? It isn't there Dan.

34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

No more Levite Priests to perform ceremonial, sacrificial "Works of the Law" for remission of sins. Jesus is now the High Priest and has offered His own blood for the remission of my sins.

Where is there any mention of Jesus changing the definition of sin? It isn't there Dan.

You and I have been sols a bill of goods by the "Many" who come in Christ's name, just exactly as Jesus warned of. I really hope you will consider this, though I truly understand how difficult is may be.

The fact is that nowhere in the New Testament are we specifically taught to observe the Sabbath day.

Strange if it holds the importance given by some

people heard the word of God in different ways

Genesis 1: 28. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
