What do you mean by "exercise" isn't it to practice and not just say and claim or just a lip service? Do you preach about a genuine saving Faith without doing anything? Is preaching not a work? Assuming that Faith alone saves, can a person have Faith and be saved without someone preaching to them the Gospel of salvation?

If you are a preacher, can you say that you are not doing a work? If it is so then what are you doing? Is preaching the Gospel of our salvation irrelevant or unnecessary to our salvation? Does it embellish or add anything to your Faith ALONE doctrine?

dcon’s reply;

Take 1 second and actually think about and ponder what this thread is about.....serious.....it is about HOW ONE IS SAVED not WHAT THEY DO AFTER THEY ARE SAVED.....it IS FAITH ALONE THAT SAVES.....end of story........!

ElAmor

If “ Faith ALONE" saves, can one have faith without hearing the message? The verses below proves that a work is needed and essential to salvation….PREACHING.

It is not of ourselves that we may not boast.( ephesians 2:8-9 ) A Faith that works in Love.( galatians 5:6 ) A “selfless LOVE" that thinks about the welfare and SALVATION OF OTHERS and not just his own interests.( philippians 2:3-4, 1 john 3:16-18 )

Romans 10:14-17 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And HOW CAN THEY HEAR WITHOUT SOMEONE PREACHING TO THEM? And how can they preach UNLESS THEY ARE SENT? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?” Consequently, FAITH COMES FROM HEARING THE MESSAGE, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.

2 John 1:4-11 It has given me great joy to find some of your children WALKING IN THE TRUTH, just as the Father COMMANDED US. And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had FROM THE BEGINNING. I ask that we love one another. And this is love: that we WALK IN OBEDIENCE TO HIS COMMANDS. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you WALK IN LOVE. Many DECEIVERS, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as COMING IN THE FLESH, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the DECEIVER and the ANTICHRIST. Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully. Anyone who RUNS AHEAD and DOES NOT CONTINUE in the TEACHING OF CHRIST does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him. Anyone who welcomes him SHARES IN HIS WICKED WORK.

Who are those RUNNING AHEAD and DOES NOT CONTINUE IN THE TEACHING OF CHRIST?

They are those who CLAIM SALVATION is by Faith ALONE and ONCE SAVED they are ALWAYS SAVED therefore rejecting God’s Laws and commands which are in fact God’s own words, who says that even obedience to God cannot save anyone because they are works and Faith ALONE saves.

Who then is the deceiver and the ANTICHRIST?

They are those who do not continue in the teaching about WALKING IN LOVE which is WALKING IN OBEDIENCE TO HIS COMMANDS. Who do not acknowledge Jesus as coming in the flesh by the mere fact that they reject the LAW that prophesied about Jesus as coming in the flesh.

1 John 2:1-6 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. THE MAN WHO SAYS, “I KNOW HIM,” BUT DOES NOT DO WHAT HE COMMANDS IS A LIAR, AND THE TRUTH IS NOT IN HIM. But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him MUST WALK AS JESUS DID.

New International Version 1984 John 8:42-47 The Children of the Devil Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me. Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me? He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”

See this is where pride, division, comes into play. I don't need you to put anything into "perspective" for me. That is what the Word of God written down as the Holy Bible does for me, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

I don't need the pride of man to tell me how to believe, what to believe, when to believe.
Amen Star, and thank you, thank you, thank you.....:)

Paul, Peter, John say God calls us to a pure, holy life.

I am pointing out people get very hot under the collar about points
of faith when real sin is actually the issue and denial of repentance.

Now if that is me telling people how to believe, what to believe and when to believe
there is no much hope for you.

One member started a thread and I thought amen that have a sorted out life.
On another thread they confessed to unforgiveness and no resolution with someone
very close to them. This kind of problem distorts ones perspectives completely, but
the individual is unaware of this.

I have had many people telling me how to believe and the right way of interpreting
everything, so if I share the simple realities, it is me now dictating the truth.

Grace and peace to you.

Anyone believing they can/are/will be as holy as our God and Lord Jesus Christ while they remain on earth, is fooling themselves. While believers seek to walk as Christ gave us the example to walk, we are not complete nor will be be complete until we reach heaven.
This raises an interesting question.
Can we be Holy, but not a holy as our God? Are there level of holiness, level 1, 2, 3?

Now if there is only purified, clean and holy, or impure, defiled and unacceptable, then
this statement is just no one is washed clean and made pure.

So Paul could not say do not be impure and live a holy life.

So unfortunately it does not match what the apostles are teaching us.

How was Jesus Holy as a man? How did a priest ever become acceptable in the temple?
How did Paul say

You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous and blameless we were among you who believed.
1 Thessalonians 2:10

Now maybe Paul was in a league of his own, except he extended this to his brothers
and sisters in Christ calling them to

I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing.
1 Timothy 2:8

And I hear the anger in Stars words "Anyone believing ..... fooling themselves"

By this measure Paul was fooling himself and those he preached to or everyone
who rejects holiness is just behaving impurely and contradicting Gods word.

For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.
Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.
1 Thessalonians 4:7-8

Unbelief is a powerful thing when Gods word says you are rejecting God.
But then people listen more to their doctrines than to God and His declaration
of truth and the gospel of peace.

So much emotional energy driving this agenda, is amazing. So much guilt and
unresolved pain, anguish, tumult, which if let out could tare people apart, except
if we stand in Jesus and the cross, His love will keep us safe. It takes real faith
and real bravery to step out, and face ones fears and life that has bound one
and proclaim love and victory in Christ. It will change you, it did me and still does
to this day. This is what faith does, and is a real battle, always within and with
our own miss-conceptions and motivations. Grace and peace to you.

A three way conversation

There is three sharing here.
1. My sharing
2. The other party sharing
3. Christ sharing

Now which one matters? The answer is all three.
Imagine the Lord looking through this thread on the day of judgement.
How would you feel about it?

If God declares we are called to live a Holy life, that is a simple calling.
Its implications may not be simple, and could be hard, until you come
to see Christ has cleansed you and made you Holy in the love that dwells in your heart.
If the Holy Spirit dwells within you crying Abba Father, then you are the Holy Temple of
the Living God.

So rather than this realization being far away, it is actually right here in our experience.
When Jesus speaks through the Holy Spirit to you in a still small voice, you are holy and
acceptable to Him. The Lord never expects us to resolve everything today, but to work
things through, to grow, to learn, to listen and to follow. One step at a time, there is
no hurry, He sets the pace. And I wish I could embrace and demonstrate the love He
has for you, through traumas, family splits, injustice, many many blows that underminded
and took away self worth, when Jesus has come to say, "Be still and know that I am God
and I love you, and I will help you if you listen and follow my instructions."

A person on a precipice about to fall to their death, is not going to argue with an expert
and Jesus is our expert, with the rescue plan and how we are to walk right out of the
situation into eternal life.

Listening to some, it is like they never leave the precipice, and actually fall to their
deaths not knowing rescue was at hand.

I don't think that I can be saved by doing good deeds. But neither do I have faith in eternal life.

All I know is this: Christ calls me to do good deeds. Whether or not I shall achieve salvation from obeying the call is of no consequence to me. All I know is, people in this world are suffering. Christ says, "Help them." I'd rather go to hell doing good works than earn eternal life because I arbitrarily believe something that PEOPLE told me to believe.

It's your constantly tell others go left, go right, go up, go down.

And dictating is not something a believer does to another believer. Your posts come across as if you alone have all the answers, the only way, etc.

Humility is a virtue we all desperately need.

Wow you are mixed up big time. Let me help you gain confidence.

YES, we are help people in need, but it is not part of our Salvation, it is PART OF GOD'S LOVE IN US.

Romans 5:5-6 (HCSB)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] This hope will not disappoint ⌊us⌋, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
[SUP]6 [/SUP] For while we were still helpless, at the appointed moment, Christ died for the ungodly.
1 John 3:14-19 (HCSB)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] We know that we have passed from death to life because we love our brothers. The one who does not love remains in death.
[SUP]15 [/SUP] Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.
[SUP]16 [/SUP] This is how we have come to know love: He laid down His life for us. We should also lay down our lives for our brothers.
[SUP]17 [/SUP] If anyone has this world’s goods and sees his brother in need but closes his eyes to his ⌊need⌋ —how can God’s love reside in him?
[SUP]18 [/SUP] Little children, we must not lovewith word or speech, but with truth and action.
[SUP]19 [/SUP] This is how we will know we belong to the truth and will convince our conscience in His presence,

Now read this, and you will find WITHOUT GOD'S LOVE in your hearts, you will always be lost.

Matthew 25:31-46 (ESV)
[SUP]31 [/SUP] “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.
[SUP]32 [/SUP] Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
[SUP]33 [/SUP] And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left.
[SUP]34 [/SUP] Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
[SUP]35 [/SUP] For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,
[SUP]36 [/SUP] I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’
[SUP]37 [/SUP] Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?
[SUP]38 [/SUP] And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?
[SUP]39 [/SUP] And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’
[SUP]40 [/SUP] And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.

[SUP]41 [/SUP] “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
[SUP]42 [/SUP] For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink,
[SUP]43 [/SUP] I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’
[SUP]44 [/SUP] Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’
[SUP]45 [/SUP] Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’
[SUP]46 [/SUP] And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

1 John 4:8-13 (HCSB)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
[SUP]9 [/SUP] God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent His One and Only Son into the world so that we might live through Him.
[SUP]10 [/SUP] Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
[SUP]11 [/SUP] Dear friends, if God loved us in this way, we also must love one another.
[SUP]12 [/SUP] No one has ever seen God. If we love one another, God remains in us and His love is perfected in us.
[SUP]13 [/SUP] This is how we know that we remain in Him and He in us: He has given ⌊assurance⌋ to us from His Spirit.

CLEARLY it is NOT PART OF OUR SALVATION, it is GOD'S LOVE in US.

Thank you for your infinite wisdom. Visiting people in prison is pure delusion. If I ever don't want to obey Jesus, I can ask Paul for an excuse. Thank you for absolving me of duty to others. I was about to obey Jesus Christ until you came along with your institution. Thank you for freeing me from that responsibility. Christ was about to consume my life until you came along and set me straight about who he really is.

Hi VCO, thank you for trying to help this troubled soul; His only purpose for being here on CC is to throw around insults like he just did. He will be here for a time as he baits unsuspecting Christians into engaging him in endless and fruitless arguments.

Proceed as you will just be careful of insincere posters down range.....:)

2 Peter 2:1-22 false teachers and Their Destruction But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping. For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment; if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others; if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the filthy lives of lawless men (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)— if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while continuing their punishment. This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the sinful nature and despise authority. Bold and arrogant, these men are not afraid to slander celestial beings; yet even angels, although they are stronger and more powerful, do not bring slanderous accusations against such beings in the presence of the Lord. But these men blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like brute beasts, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed, and like beasts they too will perish. They will be paid back with harm for the harm they have done. Their idea of pleasure is to carouse in broad daylight. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their pleasures while they feast with you. With eyes full of adultery, they never stop sinning; they seduce the unstable; they are experts in greed—an accursed brood! They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam son of Beor, who loved the wages of wickedness. But he was rebuked for his wrongdoing by a donkey—a beast without speech—who spoke with a man’s voice and restrained the prophet’s madness. These men are springs without water and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them. For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of sinful human nature, they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error. They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity—for a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him. If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,” and, “A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud.”

Titus 1:15-16 to the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.

1 John 4:1 Test the Spirits Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

God bless you bro.

I would rather do what God says to do any day, but would also seek to learn and accept sound doctrine as well to be grounded in Christ and not be swayed by the doctrines of men but grow in the wisdom of Heaven,

1.What do you mean by "exercise" isn't it to practice and not just say and claim or just a lip service?

2, Do you preach about a genuine saving Faith without doing anything?

3, Is preaching not a work?

4, Assuming that Faith alone saves, can a person have Faith and be saved without someone preaching to them the Gospel of salvation?
1. Yes exercise faith means more than lip service, it is giving your life into God's hands and trusting Him to take care of You.

2.yes Dcon preaches of genuine faith and How God works in our hearts and minds. It's not about us DOING but us receiving FROM GOD THE GIFT OF SALVATION.

What we do after words is another conversation.

3. Preaching is an honor that God grants us to glorify God. It's God's work that sometimes He uses us to do, but only through His holy spirit.

4. Yes if you mean someone human. Saul learnt the gospel from Jesus. Some people learn it from reading the Bible. Some from dreams.

God has ways to call His people to him.

Arbitrarily believing something because someone told you to believe is not grounds for salvation. Believe in your heart... do those words mean nothing to you? One must repent and believe.
