Prayer wheel religion

There are many religious practices used around the world. One is a prayer wheel.
The idea is a prayer is given by rotating the wheel even though the person rotating it
does not necessarily know what it means, they have done their religious practice so now
they are safe.

Every position of faith can become like this.
The easiest sign you are doing this, is when you do something "religious" but its actual
meaning is irrelevant, just that you do it.

So if believing or having faith does not change us so we walk in the ways of Jesus,
we are just performing the spinning of a prayer wheel.

Or if a believer says, I am just like any other sinner, but must put on an act so that
non-believers think there is something of value in Jesus, that a sinner can become a
saint, except we know they cannot, but we must be a good show, that is a prayer
wheel. Getting real with God is working through love, putting it into action, believing
the best in people.

For me it is believing people here will listen to Gods word and be encouraged that they
are loved and cared for, and Jesus does bring real victory through the cross. I know those
who are called will listen, which makes witnessing always worth it, being a light in the
darkness of cynicism and bitterness.

People can only shine a light as much as a light has shone on them within.
So open the door, repent, confess and reach out to Christ in faith and He will forgive
and cleanse you, Amen.

35Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him,*Dost thou believe on the Son of God?

36He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?

37And Jesus said unto him,*Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.

38And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.

39And Jesus said,*For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.

40And*some*of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?

41Jesus said unto them,*If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.

If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth.
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:6-9

How can we be ambassadors of Christ on earth? Because we are His people,
humble servants to our risen Lord, walking in victory as a testimony to the cross
of Christ and His salvation.

Jesus calls us to be salt, not like the world, but following Gods will.

You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house."
Matt 5:13-15

Now my friends, if Gods work in us is to leave us like the world, defeated and
overcome by sin, how does He call us to be lights in this world, because we
cannot be lights if sin runs rampant in our lives.

This is not the testimony of Gods people, rather the opposite, Jesus leading them
from one place of victory to another. Look back how you used to be, and realise
the good work He has already done in your life. He will not stop, Praise the Lord,
so know the victory He desires that you know, though it may take many trials
and problems to get there, be assured He will bring it about.

All we have to boast about, is always just the cross and all He has done in our
lives through this, not ourselves but by His Holy Spirit at work in us.

Did Jesus believe in Peter?

Jesus said, "Feed my sheep. I tell you the truth, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go."
John 21:18

And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
Matthew 16:18-19

Jesus believed in Peter, and showed His confidence in the work he would do for Christ.

Paul says not we should ignore our role in the Church be view it rightly.

Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.
Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function,
so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

Romans 12:3-5

Recognizing the blessing God has given us is as important as not over valuing oneself
or under valuing it.

There is a cult against recognising people as Holy Saved saints walking in the Holy
Spirit worthy of love and respect. It is our calling to both be these people and
recognise the ministry of each other, Amen.

My morning devotion had some of these words to say:

1. Lasting change in our actions and attitudes can only come through the Holy Spirit within us.

2. The Law was not intended for salvation.

3. The Law was created to drive us to the Savior - Jesus Christ - for salvation.

4. Christ is the fulfillment of the Law since He took our sin upon Himself, died, was resurrected.

Amen

Anyone believing they can/are/will be as holy as our God and Lord Jesus Christ while they remain on earth, is fooling themselves. While believers seek to walk as Christ gave us the example to walk, we are not complete nor will be be complete until we reach heaven.

Can you simply read what I wrote without embellishing or adding to/subtracting from what I have said.....I mean serious....and a cursory reading of this thread will reveal atleast a dozen to 50 times that I have made clear that we are not under the condemnation of the law and the law is for the lawless.....and regardless....the words of Jesus and Paul must be interpreted in light of the fact that Jesus was born, lived and died under the LAW which ratified the NEW COVENANT OF GRACE!
Amen Decon, you have presented a clear understandable Gospel; As soon as you muddy the gospel with your wonderful works it takes the focus off of Jesus for eternal salvation, and it puts you in the limelight, center stage; turn away from your self righteousness and believe the Gospel for the salvation for your soul. John the Baptist could not have made it more clear; "I must decrease and He must increase, more of Jesus less of me I pray.

God bless you Decon a true believer and true Preacher of the Word.

John3:14-16
14) Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,
15) that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”
16) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

I just saw this post McGee and it fits right in with what I saw in my study this morning.

John 9:39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.

This scripture is also here..surprising but it does.

Psalms 107:1 O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Mercy:

[h=1]H2617[/h]
חֵסֵד
chêsêd
kheh'-sed
From H2616; kindness; by implication (towards God) piety; rarely (by opprobrium) reproof, or (subjectively) beauty: - favour, good deed (-liness, -ness), kindly, (loving-) kindness, merciful (kindness), mercy, pity, reproach, wicked thing.
Total KJV occurrences: 247

comes from the root word for grace in Hebrew.

[h=1]H2616[/h]
חָסַד
châsad
khaw-sad'
A primitive root; properly perhaps to bow (the neck only (compare H2603) in courtesy to an equal), that is, to be kind; also (by euphemism (compare H1288), but rarely) to reprove: - shew self merciful, put to shame.
Total KJV occurrences: 3

[h=1]H2603[/h]
חָנַן
chânan
khaw-nan'
A primitive root (compare H2583); properly to bend or stoop in kindness to an inferior; to favor, bestow; causatively to implore (that is, move to favor by petition): - beseech, X fair, (be, find, shew) favour (-able), be (deal, give, grant (gracious (-ly), intreat, (be) merciful, have (shew) mercy (on, upon), have pity upon, pray, make supplication, X very.
Total KJV occurrences: 77

This is where we find the definition for unmerited favor. Now look at forever...by the way, endureth is added.

[h=1]H5769[/h]
עֹלָם עוֹלָם
‛ôlâm ‛ôlâm
o-lawm', o-lawm'
From H5956; properly concealed, that is, the vanishing point; generally time out of mind (past or future), that is, (practically) eternity; frequentative adverbially (especially with prepositional prefix) always: - always (-s), ancient (time), any more, continuance, eternal, (for, [n-]) ever (-lasting, -more, of old), lasting, long (time), (of) old (time), perpetual, at any time, (beginning of the) world (+ without end). Compare H5331, H5703.
Total KJV occurrences: 438

[h=1]H5956[/h]
עָלַם
‛âlam
aw-lam'
A primitive root; to veil from sight, that is, conceal (literally or figuratively): - X any ways, blind, dissembler, hide (self), secret (thing).
Total KJV occurrences: 28

The goodness (grace) of God is concealed until the veil is taken away.

Jonathan Welton has discernment of spirits, and has testified that there is a darkness surrounding unbelievers in the spiritual realm. Light shines brightly from our inner being when we believe.

I love to see the NT explained through the old.

Actually its Peter believing on Jesus. Jesus is our rock. And Peter recognized Him as the Messiah. Saviour.

It strikes me people want salvation so much, they rush passed Jesus to grab
hold of it, and then ignore what He wants to say, and He calls simply to people
to follow, and learn, and listen.

How can you lose what you never gained, and how can one get something wrong
if you never got it right?

I love Jesus. I do not pretend to be anything, just to listen to His word and walk
in His ways. If you see eternal life is this walk, things become a lot simpler and
easier to see. A pure heart, a washed soul, learning how to be a servant and just
share with those you meet.

Religion begins when the heart is not where the reality is, but in ceremony and words,
in doing stuff and not letting oneself soar on wings like eagles in the heavenlies.

And I can only share to those who know Him, because the rest will never listen, it is
not their fault, they cannot. Grace and peace to you, in Christ Jesus.

Jesus said this about those who know the words but close their hearts

There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day.
John 12:48

It is sad because what Jesus spoke of and what I am sharing is about the heart,
dealing with sin, and letting Jesus and communion in the Holy Spirit change us.

And the questions I ask, many do not because they would lead to cleansing which
is something they reject and do not want. They are friends to the world and are
happy to enjoy its bounty, rather than strain after the things of God.

27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

30 They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?

31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.

32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

36 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.

37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Matt 5:8

There is a subtle issue about seeing Jesus is the Christ.
If you do not gain a pure heart, you will never see God.

Hanging onto impurity will mean though you know the words, you will
have missed the meaning, a pile of words without application

Jesus said take the log out of ones eye. This log is our impurity that
distorts all our thinking and approach to others.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matt 6:33

Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?
How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?
You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
Matthew 7:1-5

Being a hypocrite is about having sin within while trying to correct others.
Jesus calls us to seek purity first, the righteousness of the Kingdom above
everything else. The question is simply how do you feel about love and giving,
putting everything out there for Christ or just working to make oneself safe
and secure and help if you just stumble across it?

I want to put things into perspective for you church folk, who grew up in protected nice
families who showed you love and care all your lives, who you hold now as hypocrites and
evil.

These are the evil people, who truly will be condemned on the last day,

For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person--such a man is an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Ephesians 5:5

Those who hold lawlessness is the way of believers, are just lost in darkness,
and know nothing of the light and of Jesus. Jesus has always been about
reality and purity within. The crazy thing is when people say I need to sort
out my heart and stop being a hypocrite, while actually saying they are hypocrites
and so am I, so I am lying about purity and cleansing.

But this is exactly what Paul face in crete.

To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.
Titus 1:15

We cannot avoid these issues. As sinners we always compromise and desire to
stay as we are rather than work things through as we are called to do.

See this is where pride, division, comes into play. I don't need you to put anything into "perspective" for me. That is what the Word of God written down as the Holy Bible does for me, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

I don't need the pride of man to tell me how to believe, what to believe, when to believe.

Most could not deal with Jesus, Paul, John the Immerser and or Elijah.....especially the workers for and sinless perfectionists.....

John 15:18-25: “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. He who hates Me hates My Father also. If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father. But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, ‘They hated Me without a cause."

Here's a truth ZOMBIES cannot accept;

James 2:26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

The very reason they will be rejected by the Lord because they love to call Him Lord but never do what He says (luke 6:46) because they're just WALKING DEAD.

Here's they're fate accdg to scriptures;

Matthew 25:28-30,45-46 “‘Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents. For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ “He will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

Matthew 22:13 “Then the king told the attendants, ‘Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Psalm 49:13-14 This is the fate of those who trust in themselves, and of their followers, who approve their sayings. Selah Like sheep they are destined for the grave, and death will feed on them. The upright will rule over them in the morning; their forms will decay in the grave, far from their princely mansions.

John 12:35 Then Jesus told them, “You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. The man who WALKS IN THE DARK does not know where he is going.

John 3:19-21 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”
All this does is prove that ..

a. You cannot read
b. You don't listen
c. You don't pay attention to anything that has been said!

Sinless only once we receive glorified bodies, where we will be just like Him. I like this scripture below as it's one of many that shows He completes what He starts. The author and finisher. That one is predestined to be conformed to the image of Jesus, which will end with glorification. How can anyone overlook this scripture, as it's clearly a guarantee.

Romans 8:29-30: "For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified"

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy has he SAVED US (past tense)

Trust JESUS...believe the gospel of salvation.....it is based entirely upon faith with NO STRINGS attached, regardless of those who attempt to embellish it or top it off with works and some sort of sinless perfectionism.

What do you mean by "exercise" isn't it to practice and not just say and claim or just a lip service? Do you preach about a genuine saving Faith without doing anything? Is preaching not a work? Assuming that Faith alone saves, can a person have Faith and be saved without someone preaching to them the Gospel of salvation?

If you are a preacher, can you say that you are not doing a work? If it is so then what are you doing? Is preaching the Gospel of our salvation irrelevant or unnecessary to our salvation? Does it embellish or add anything to your Faith ALONE doctrine?

dcon’s reply;

Take 1 second and actually think about and ponder what this thread is about.....serious.....it is about HOW ONE IS SAVED not WHAT THEY DO AFTER THEY ARE SAVED.....it IS FAITH ALONE THAT SAVES.....end of story........!

If “ Faith ALONE" saves, can one have faith without hearing the message? The verses below proves that a work is needed and essential to salvation….PREACHING.

It is not of ourselves that we may not boast.( ephesians 2:8-9 ) A Faith that works in Love.( galatians 5:6 ) A “selfless LOVE" that thinks about the welfare and SALVATION OF OTHERS and not just his own interests.( philippians 2:3-4, 1 john 3:16-18 )

Romans 10:14-17 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And HOW CAN THEY HEAR WITHOUT SOMEONE PREACHING TO THEM? And how can they preach UNLESS THEY ARE SENT? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?” Consequently, FAITH COMES FROM HEARING THE MESSAGE, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.

2 John 1:4-11 It has given me great joy to find some of your children WALKING IN THE TRUTH, just as the Father COMMANDED US. And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had FROM THE BEGINNING. I ask that we love one another. And this is love: that we WALK IN OBEDIENCE TO HIS COMMANDS. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you WALK IN LOVE. Many DECEIVERS, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as COMING IN THE FLESH, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the DECEIVER and the ANTICHRIST. Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully. Anyone who RUNS AHEAD and DOES NOT CONTINUE in the TEACHING OF CHRIST does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him. Anyone who welcomes him SHARES IN HIS WICKED WORK.

Who are those RUNNING AHEAD and DOES NOT CONTINUE IN THE TEACHING OF CHRIST?

They are those who CLAIM SALVATION is by Faith ALONE and ONCE SAVED they are ALWAYS SAVED therefore rejecting God’s Laws and commands which are in fact God’s own words, who says that even obedience to God cannot save anyone because they are works and Faith ALONE saves.

Who then is the deceiver and the ANTICHRIST?

They are those who do not continue in the teaching about WALKING IN LOVE which is WALKING IN OBEDIENCE TO HIS COMMANDS. Who do not acknowledge Jesus as coming in the flesh by the mere fact that they reject the LAW that prophesied about Jesus as coming in the flesh.

1 John 2:1-6 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. THE MAN WHO SAYS, “I KNOW HIM,” BUT DOES NOT DO WHAT HE COMMANDS IS A LIAR, AND THE TRUTH IS NOT IN HIM. But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him MUST WALK AS JESUS DID.
