Can they live in disobedience?
Yes.
Should they?
No.
Salvation is, and will always remain, a gift. Grace is, and always will be, unmerited.
If you work for or to retain either, you've negated both.
Yet again, God will chastise a wandering believer, even to the point of taking them home, but they can never be lost due to their behavior.

Very few people are willing to say it straight forward. You believe in OSAS and say clearly that if a person was really born again, that no matter what they ever do in the future, they will be saved and go to heaven. Most others will skirt the issue and be unclear, or say it can't be, etc.
For example (from another thread) you told me that my brother-in-law (if he was really saved) will go to heaven. He was a believer, and now is a practicing atheist. You told me that if he died right now (my crazy "shoot him" scenario! ) he would still be saved even if he is not believing and doing no works at all. If I understood you correctly, you said that even if he became a "Hitlar" that he would still be saved. (That all on the basis that he was really saved - which we as humans can never know for sure - that is God's job!)
(If I am misrepresenting what you said - please correct me . . .)
