I have to ask myself a simple question?
Did the priests in the temple ever become defiled? Yes
What did they have to do then? Find purification

Once purified could then then enter the Holy place and not defile it? Yes

The concept some refuse to accept, that we can ever become pure and holy in Christ.

Jesus was, the apostles were, the disciples and the those who came to faith were, yet
today a group who claim to follow Jesus, who rebel against His words, who stand against
anyone who says God makes them Holy, literally, are somehow believers in Christ and the
cross, when this very purification and oneness from the heart with the Father through the
Son is our calling.

No wonder in their faith, they can never say the prayer of a righteous person God answers,
because they never believe they are ever righteous.

The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
James 5:16

For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
Romans 5:19

You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless?
Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?
You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did.
And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness," and he was called God's friend.
You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.
James 2:20-24

Just observing
those who tie works and faith together for salvation or to keep or top off salvation are the most dishonest people on this site......they have this default lie that they fall back on constantly accusing us of dismissing and living a life of sin.......nothing but pure poppycock......

Sure...will you be honest as well.....and accuse us of saying we can live anyway we want to live and sin all we want which is what that is directed at...or will you be dishonest and post posts like the above without context and deny the truth of what I said?

No worries...we already know.....

And what ANGLE would that be.....feel free to post where we have said we can live in sin, do as we please and live like the devil...which they CONSTANTLY ACCUSE us of.....?

I'm listening, although, I'm listening more intently here.

You know....of all my Australian friends and how honest they are...it is tragic to see you being dishonest.........no one has stated the bolded (in your last line) and or even implied it.....funny how ALL workers for that elevate their works above saving faith are the most dishonest people on this site.........you claim works go hand in hand with faith and then flat misrepresent, twist, embellish and accuse of something that NONE of us have embraced and or tired to say.....

How does this level of
dishonesty help prove that you guys even know the Lord......[/QUOTE]

Wrong......the only sin that keeps one from being saved is unbelief....

SALVATION is not losable....get that thru your head........and to say that, is to make Jesus into a weak, ineffectual liar that cannot keep his word and or promises.....very dangerous ground for you.....
Your Jesus who is so strong to save you even when you live in the unbelief of hypocrisy is too weak to grow you up out of your sin. That's not my Jesus.

I'm merely trying to point out in a way you might observe, how much of your vocabulary is negative.

How are you helping anyone with that? How are you lifting anyone up?

How can a believer reject Jesus's commands and be a follower?

We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands.
The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him:
1 John 2:3-5

Let us be plain, walking in the light, speaking the truth.
Obey Jesus, and you are being a follower.
Disobey Jesus, and you are building your house in the sand.

And in disobedience is sin, commiting it knowingly and openly.

Now no one here is able to judge another, but it is obvious if someone
preaches open rebellion, not obeying Jesus and His commands, they are
promoting sin and sinful behaviour and rejecting Christ, which also appears
for these people to be the unforgivable sin.

How much worse for those who know Jesus and love to reject the very revelation
of purity and holiness is our walk. Maybe weak, and stuttering at first, but this is
our calling.

prove your integrity to all.....we will wait....

Sure it is........only to be burnt in the coming day.......you are not being persecuted for truth's sake..........
You can't see it, but, yes, I am.

But I do agree that at many of you posting here and not just lurking will indeed be my burnt up works, not my work that will follow me into the kingdom. My labor is indeed in vain among those posting. My hope is those lurking are humble and are learning. They will be my reward when Jesus comes back.

When you understand the word hypocrisy it might help your argument....and I never said what you imply....take NOTE 007.....did I say that or imply that....will you highlight what he said as false or just continue to show your partiality....doesn't James speak about partial judgment.......You guys like James so much.....

No squabbling....we are all in a fine mood....but as one who believes in eternal security I get sick of being accused of saying we can live in sin and or do as we please....NONE of us have ever said that or even implied that........but hey....when that is the only argument one can make against the promises of JESUS, his power and work on one's behalf........just saying.

So you are quite defensive about your beliefs, but underneath you are quite a positive person. I'm just saying, regardless of our beliefs, of which we all have differing beliefs, you could speak about it, or debate (not argue) with people in a more positive less negative way, that's all.

Actually, my vocabulary is rather positive when not being lied about or falsely accused of things I have never said nor implied....you should try being fair and honest....

Show your
integrity to all.....we are waiting

You are patting yourself on the back for [what you think] are your works already! I couldn't live like that. With that sense of entitlement for what I've done.

13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

all scriptures flow in harmony

and He has already blessed me with assurance in His promises

this is freely given to all those who accept them
praise God for His promises
