No one is apposed to the sin dynamic, they are apposed to the works gospel being preached by many, who use sin as the issue of justification (earning it) not sanctification (growing in christ)
Ok since we both acknowledge my ignorance, show me an example. Should be easy

I see "saved by works" with certain cults and catholics.

I see none with protestants.

Give me an example of "saved by works"
if someone is a new creature

and then sin

and then die in the middle of this sin

_________

to think because you died but didnt do the work of "repenting" you lost salvation

you are putting salvation on your shoulders if you think AFTER being born again and coming to Jesus

it is up to YOUR actions to be justified

Well I think you are in "good" company.
That particular exchange is me clarifying where he is coming from.

And I would have to agree that for some bizarre reason asking someone a question in this thread is about like insulting their mother or something.

What is with all the paranoia?????
You had no idea where he was coming from to falsely accuse him as you did.

Why are you so paranoid???

Anything that states you must (other than believe and confess the gospel) is a works based false religion....and most so called "Christian" religions and all who teach you can lose it = a works based religion!

the point of this thread

is once you are born again

you are His child and saved

all glory to salvation goes to Jesus

_______

the walk AS a new creature who cannot lose his/her salvation is a completely different topic

david
many blind sheep
and wolves alike come here
trying to take away or add to the sacrifice of Jesus

maybe thats why youre getting pushback

you have made assumptions that are false (maybe from my choice of words or attitude)

as have i about you based on your attitude and choice of words

the walk of a christian

____

pray constantly
examine yourself to see if you are the spirit

deny the flesh

encourage to DO good works (not to save yourself but out of love for Him who loved you first)

and to build our brothers and sisters up

help them if they stumble

and the fruits of walking in the spirit

im sure we all know

love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
meekness, temperance

we should also say charity

but none of these things save us
or keep us saved

this is God providing the transformation

no one should look at Gods grace or the GIFT of salvation to those who believe on the name of Jesus as a "now i can do all these sins i love" card

if you love these sins so much you dont even care what Jesus had to go through and it doesnt hurt your new heart that youre choosing flesh

id say examine yourself

because that sounds like the old heart to me
my guess was off

final bump

________

to all my brothers and sisters may God bless you with peace and joy and full confidence in His promises

to all my neighbors and enemies

may God give you eyes to see and ears to hear

good night all

New International Version 1984 Ephesians 5:1-21 Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a man is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them. For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said: “Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Greetings dcontroversal,

May I ask what you mean by believe and confess the gospel is all you must, and anything else is wrong.

Now about brotherly love we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other.
And in fact, you do love all the brothers throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers, to do so more and more.
Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you,
1 Thessalonians 4:9-11

Are you excluding the above encouragement from the gospel, and any other encouragement
throughout the new testament? Is this what you mean?

I do not want to miss-understand you, and cause offence.

As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance.
But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do;
for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy."

1 Peter 1:14-16

Am I an obedient child or am I staying within my evil desires? Is there a choice? What are you
recommending I should do? Listen to Peter and God or something else?

Romans 12:9-21 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

1 John 3:16-18 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.
