Well I think you are in "good" company.
That particular exchange is me clarifying where he is coming from.

And I would have to agree that for some bizarre reason asking someone a question in this thread is about like insulting their mother or something.

What is with all the paranoia?????

So,basically if a member of your church is born again, they can go in there and spit on the floor.
By correcting them, you are preaching a works salvation.

That is how ridiculous all of you sound when you think walking in Holiness is salvation oriented and somehow blasphemes the free gift of salvation.

I really think there is some spirit operating in this thread that thinks salvation equals a behavior paranoia.

If I put on the shield of faith am I WOF and works oriented also?????

This thread is BIZZZZZZARRRRR.
This post is ridiculous. You have not even understood what he said. Or the point he is trying to make.

Over and over in this thread the "point" of "we do not repent of sin" is being hammered.

The other "point" is works somehow threatens the free gift of salvation.

There is a line of truth out there somewhere.

Ordinances are necessary for any order of life. There is zero threat to salvation.

Ordinances to be saved.......whole different dynamic.

Now,what are you talking about????

the point of this thread

is once you are born again

you are His child and saved

all glory to salvation goes to Jesus

_______

the walk AS a new creature who cannot lose his/her salvation is a completely different topic

david
many blind sheep
and wolves alike come here
trying to take away or add to the sacrifice of Jesus

maybe thats why youre getting pushback

you have made assumptions that are false (maybe from my choice of words or attitude)

as have i about you based on your attitude and choice of words

the walk of a christian

____

pray constantly
examine yourself to see if you are the spirit

deny the flesh

encourage to DO good works (not to save yourself but out of love for Him who loved you first)

and to build our brothers and sisters up

help them if they stumble

and the fruits of walking in the spirit

im sure we all know

love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
meekness, temperance

we should also say charity

but none of these things save us
or keep us saved

this is God providing the transformation

no one should look at Gods grace or the GIFT of salvation to those who believe on the name of Jesus as a "now i can do all these sins i love" card

if you love these sins so much you dont even care what Jesus had to go through and it doesnt hurt your new heart that youre choosing flesh

id say examine yourself

because that sounds like the old heart to me

The word of God is what matters. But how many read this everyday, with their hearts open.

Let me understand the teaching of your precepts; then I will meditate on your wonders.
My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word.
Keep me from deceitful ways; be gracious to me through your law.
Psalm 119:27-29

Not a word from their mouth can be trusted; their heart is filled with destruction. Their throat is an open grave; with their tongue they speak deceit.
Declare them guilty, O God! Let their intrigues be their downfall. Banish them for their many sins, for they have rebelled against you.
But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.
Psalm 5:9-11

I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly.
Do not withhold your mercy from me, O LORD; may your love and your truth always protect me.
Psalm 40:10-11

BUT, NO WAY is the works of righteousness, considered as PART of Salvation, EVEN James understood that. It is PROOF that the Holy Spirit is at work in our lives, NOT AN ADDITION TO SALVATION.

Philippians 1:6 (HCSB)

Titus 3:5-7 (HCSB)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] He saved us— not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
[SUP]6 [/SUP] He poured out this ⌊Spirit⌋ on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
[SUP]7 [/SUP] so that having been justified by His grace, we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life.

NOTICE that HE SAVED US is in the past tense.

John 10:27-30 (HCSB)
[SUP]27 [/SUP] My sheep hear My voice, I know them, and they follow Me.
[SUP]28 [/SUP] I give them eternal life, and they will never perish—ever! No one will snatch them out of My hand.
[SUP]29 [/SUP] My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.
[SUP]30 [/SUP] The Father and I are one.”
Here is an exchange earlier, where both are right, but somehow at odds.

Repenting of sin AFTER we are saved, It should be argued, It is works based. Not grace based. And it is mocking God.

Maybe you should learn what repent means, and you will not be so offended.

Yes,I read verses from both sides ,wholeheartedly agree with every single one of them.

What I am seeing is truth (some truth) in how both sides "interpret" them, but a resistance and offence at the "sin" dynamic.

If your declaring we must repent after sin to maintain salvation. You have more problems than that.

No one is apposed to the sin dynamic, they are apposed to the works gospel being preached by many, who use sin as the issue of justification (earning it) not sanctification (growing in christ)

I see "saved by works" with certain cults and catholics.

I see none with protestants.

Give me an example of "saved by works"
