Erasmus used a commentary on Revelation to translate it. Then he used the Vulgate to finish it off because the last pgs of that commentary were missing.

So then, do you recognize that having the belief that one has the "preserved pure words of God in their hands" does not necessarily make it a sound, valid or true belief, which is in accord with objective truth? And therefore, that simply believing that the KJV is the "preserved pure words of God" does not necessarily make it a valid, sound and truthful belief, in accord with objective truth? The logic is straightforward.
Does God, Who divided the languages at Babel, recognize that languages do not always represent ideas in ways that are directly translatable into other languages?
Are you really going to base your position on speculation about what God wants, or are you going to base it on what is verifiable directly from Scripture, investigation, or logical conclusion? Your question is an appeal to speculation, which is logically untenable.
Can our God take what was written in one language and have it translated perfectly into another language? Can God give us the exact English words we need translated from what He gave in Hebrew? As He did from Hebrew to Greek when quoting OT Hebrew?

Oh, my goodness.... we had to memorize all of the prelude (prologue?) in the 7th grade... and recite it before the whole class....
NOT my favorite English/lit experience....
The question is what happened. Not what God can or cannot do.
But of course, God predestined everything to be on its place. He predestined the KJV to be, also the NIV to be and uses them for various goals in peoples lifes.
No way God would ordain two versions of His word that contradict each other. No way. That goes against God's character.
Fall of satan, fall of Adam, all evils etc are allowed to be in this universe, because it has some purpose.
Also the abundance of various translations of His words and inspired words of biblical authors has some purpose. People are not robots processing ones and zeros, every one of us is set somehow differently, one can be best built from the KJV, another one from the NIV.

But the KJV is NOT the standard. No matter how many times you say it, it doesn’t make it fact.
Eve ate not because she slightly added to God´s word, but because she was tempted and wanted to know good and evil, to be like god.
And as SovereignGrace said, the KJV is not a standard of what is added or omitted to God´s word.
Does God want His children reading and studying only one version that is difficult for many to understand because of the archaic words? Or does He want all to be able to read His Word in their heart language in the easily understood everyday language they are familiar with?
Does God want Christians to burn all the variant translations and versions that are not the 'truth'?
This is what the Muslims did with the Quran - they burned all variant readings and preserved only one version - and they say this glorious recitation from God cannot be translated into other languages - it must be in Arabic! And so Muslims learn to recite the Quran in Arabic though they may not even know what they are actually saying.
I love the KJV version, but have found other versions very helpful in different situations.
Until I came on these Christian boards 16 years ago and I have been on many, I didn't know what KJVO was!... I didn't know there was a battle and was just satisfied to read and study mine and quote it at times and leave those to their own personal translations alone... I'm KJV and proud of it and I don't care what the naysayers say... You have your Bible I have mine... Time to give this topic a rest I know I did along time ago... Brother Glen
