The Church most certainly goes through the Great Tribulation as the Scriptures plainly teach.
2Thess 2v1-3: "Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction."
The appearing of the Lord and our being gathered to him, is followed by the day of the Lord, the time of God's wrath. In essence Paul is saying that the day of the Lord, the time of God's wrath, will not begin until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed. Paul is not saying that appearing of our Lord and our being gathered to him will not take place until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed.
The appearing of our Lord and our being gathered to him, takes place prior to the day of the Lord, which is what Paul is referring to. It is a matter of paying attention to the details, for he is mentioning two different events in the same scripture. So, the order of events is as follows:
1). The appearing of the Lord and our being gathered to him
2). The rebellion and the revealing of the man of lawlessness
3). The day of the Lord (the time of God's wrath).
In short, the day of the Lord is referring to the time of God's wrath, not the appearing of the Lord and our being gathered to him.
The church will never even see the antichrist.
