I think you will find He Taught the Sabbath..
where did He teach the maintenance of the Sabbath?

someone else is at work excluding the thought..
Jesus excluded the thought,

but certainly not the Lord of Sabbath...
He was LORD of the Sabbath, and as such He said 'the Sabbath was made for man not man for the Sabbath,. He saw it as fulfilled. He NEVER taught its observance.

you do not know what you propose so may you be forgiven.. you unwittingly speak great lies because you fail to believe.
what I say is the truth, Show me the lies if you can?

Let's take a look.
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
(Mat 22:37-40 KJV)

Jesus said that all the Law and prophets hang on these two. So what is meant by hang?

Strong's concordance has this:
G2910
κρεμάννυμι
kremannumi
krem-an'-noo-mee
A prolonged form of a primary verb; to hang: - hang.

Thayer writes in his unabridged work."The meaning is, all the Law and the Prophets (i. e. the teaching of the O. T. on morality) is summed up in these two precepts.

Mounce writes in His work. "To hang upon, to be referable to as an ultimate principle, Mat_22:40"

And lastly in the BDAG Lexicon, it is written: "all the law and the prophets hang (depend) on these two commandments Mt 22:40 (as a door hangs on its hinges, so the whole OT hangs on these two comm."

Couple that with what We all ready know, For Jesus also said, "Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."
(Mat 5:18 KJV)

Since heaven and earth have not passed away, and all has not been fulfilled, not one jot or tittle has passed from the Law.

So has anything changed?

GOD says through Paul in 2 Corinthians 3, "Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life."

So it is to be understood that, through that which has been written in our hearts. We are abled ministers. It is a new ministration; no longer through Tables of stone, but through the Spirit through our hearts.

For GOD has said, "Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (That is, to bring Christ, the Word, all that GOD would have us be. HIS Commandments down from above Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (That is, to bring up Christ, the Word, all that GOD would have us be. HIS Commandments again from the dead.) But what saith it? The word (Christ; the Word, the commandments manifested in the flesh, our flesh) is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, in thy heart, and in thy hand: that we may do it; that is, THE WORD OF FAITH, which we preach. And that is the Gospel, the Kingdom of GOD (CHRIST) in you. For GOD hath said, "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them." And HE shall be our GOD and we shall be HIS people, for it is GOD that works in us both to will and do HIS good pleasure. Christ (the Word, His Commandments, GOD's will) in us the hope of Glory. For without this faith it is impossible to please GOD.

Please notice the connections that are being made in the text above. Christ, the Word, all that GOD would have us be; HIS Commandments are interchangeable in the text above. And mind you this work in our hearts is the Gospel and is the word of faith in which we speak.
(2Co 3:3-6; Rom 10:6-8; Heb 8:10)

Praise GOD! Thank you for the greeting and exhortation! Studying GOD's Word can be quite time consuming but it is well worth it! When I first started with my devotions it was GOD, me, my Bibles, Strong's, a Vines and BDB lexicon and a few other misc. Bible helps. Praise GOD for that! But praise him even more for my PC and the internet! Now through extensive Bible study program, like the theWord we have access to hundreds of Bible translations, dictionaries, commentaries and such. Talk about a chance to dig in deep! Praise GOD indeed!

May the LORD continue to bless you also my friend in all HIS Way; Jesus Christ, the Word!

The real question is can someone keep the sabbath on sunday? If the word Sabbath means rest, can someone not rest on sunday, or monday for that matter?

The old covenant had fault, needed to be replaced, abolished, made better.

That verse means the problem or [the fault was the people] ,
not the Holy law from God Himself. Something about a hard stubborn heart

Heb 8:8 For finding fault with them,.....

You can rest anytime you want,
but Only God not man, who can make a day of the week Holy.

Hebrews 4:4
For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise,
And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

And I gave them my statutes, and shewed them my judgments,
which if a man do, he [God] shall
even live in them [us].

Sure you can 'rest' any day if that is what you want and need.
But God attached it to a certain day/the 7th day so there will be no confusion as 'when it is HIS day of rest that we are invited to 'share with Him !

Apparently God does not rest every day or any day He pleases but is still working and has a precise schedule...something He is trying to teach His disobedient and wayward children. We need to be 'disciplened and the best way is to become one of His Disciples walking with Him 24/7 including keeping the Sabbath day !!!
In the NT this is a 'choice and no longer a commandment...but don't be deceived into thinking you can reject it and still please God whose Will it is to keep it holy. You want to be holy as He is holy you better start at the bottom (foundation) with the Sabbath Day...God has not changed on that yet !

How slow or stubborn people are to grasp that truth . There was a fault with them then and there is a fault with them still...a hard impenitent heart ! no humility, no shame, no regret , no repentance......

Ezekiel 20:12, "Moreover, I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a *sign between Me and them, that they might know that I am YHWH Who sanctifies them."

*Sign
is Word #H226, Hebrew Dictionary, Strong's Exhaustive Concordance, meaning mark, token, sign, consent, flag, evidence of consent.

Mat 5:18, "I say to you; Unless heaven and earth passes away, one yodh; the smallest of the letters will in no way pass from the Law, until all things are perfected."

Revelation 21:1, "I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away.

Yes similar to me in a way although I use BIBLE ANALYZER it has many of the different versions and can be customized. I mainly use a range of different Bible versions, Hebrew and Greek dictionaries, Strong's concordance etc. I am not much into the commentaries. Some may be good but its mans interpretation. I combine this with the online bible tools of BIBLEHUB; BIBLE GATEWAY or BLUE LETTER BIBLE. All very useful and stand alone in themselves. I still have my hard covers but the digital tools are so fast and Bible Analyzer allow me to develop and save topic studies. None of these are useful however without God's Spirit to teach you His truth. Praise God that he promises those that seek him that He will teach them that continue in His Word (John 14:26; 16:13; 7:17).

Thee Book of the Law & two tables of testimony , are not the same . This is were the individual has to begin there studying. Understanding thee difference of these two is key . To have clarity of the book of hebrews .

Shalom
Hi Vic1980,

Thanks for the comment and welcome to the thread. Only a few short words but I think you have nailed the problem. If people would read God's Word for themselves and understand that EVERYTHING in the NEW Testament come from the OLD testament scriptures there would be fewer problems. These are the TWO great witnesses and are in harmony with each other. Many indeed do not know what the OLD covenant is or the purpose of the two sets of laws that make up the OLD covenant and how which apply to the NEW and which were only shadows of things to come in the plan of salvation.

God bless you as you seek Him through His Word.

Exodus 20
8, REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY, to KEEP IT HOLY.
9, Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10, BUT THE SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH OF THE LORD YOUR GOD; IN IT YOU SHALL NOT DO ANY WORK, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11, For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY: wherefore THE LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH DAY AND MADE IT HOLY.

In Europe, Sunday is the 7th day, btw.

So, European Christians are going to Church on the 7th day, on Sunday.

And poor Adventists have their assemblies on Saturday, ie on the 6th day :)

So happey about a fa;lse change, why? the creator instutited the week and the Sabbath...

Daniyl 7:25, "And he will speak great words against YHWH, and will wear out; mentally attack to cause to fall away, the saints of YHWH, and think to change times and Laws."

So, you should have a consultation with LoveGodForever and decide what is the important thing - the name (Saturday/Sabbath) or the number (7th).

Because in Europe, you cant have both :)

I care what no man says or does in the seeking of YHWH's truth as far as seeking it and following it. Everything you said is irrelevant.

The truth is the truth no matter what man tries to change.

Hello trofimus, I really do not understand your argument. God's Word makes it very clear and easy to understand when His Sabbath starts and finishes.

Exodus 20
8, REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY, to KEEP IT HOLY.

The 7th Day Sabbath were ever you are around the world is always Friday SUNSET to SATURDAY SUNSET = 7th day of the week. Not too hard at all (Genesis 1:5). :)

This is all human reasoning ! WHO said Jesus profaned the sabbath day...was it God or man ? the Pharisees accused Him - not God ! there is never a word spoken against the Son by His Father...so having something to eat on the sabbath was never deemed a sin by God. So what does modern christianity do on the sabbath that is more than just eating and drinking which is allowed by God ? they have gone a step further and abolished it as GOD's Holy Day...for which they have received NO instruction. Satan is very subtle to entice man to step over the line set by God !
This was the same problem with the mainstream teachers in the days of Jesus. The result was his own people rejected him which led to His crucifixion. All through the time of the prophets, Jesus and his disciples and those after have always been the few persecuted by the many because the few told the many their deeds were evil and they needed to return to God. This is what the reformation was about the Protestantism has forgotten how that in the early days the were the few that were persecuted to death by the mother church. The thing that has been is the thing that shall be. There is nothing new under the sun.....

God bless you sister Beta

So, give me a clear answer.

Should European adventists, sabbath keepers or how you call yourself keep sunday as the 7th day? Because European week starts with Monday.
