We rightly divide the word of truth. Where in the New Testament is it specifically included?
What did He exclude?
He excluded the thought of maintaining the Sabbath. He knew He had fulfilled it

Yes you cannot separate God's Law from Love that is why it is written on these two commandments hang all the Law and the prophets (Matthew 22:36-40). That is why Jesus says; If you love me keep my commandments
True. And The Apostle John plainly tells us Christians what His Commandments are, which are To believe in Him and to Love One Another. Now today's Pharisees teach that His Commandments are keeping the 10 Commandments Which Jesus nor any Apostle EVER instructed us Christians to do. Therefore those who teach we are to DO something else, other than what Jesus and His Apostles instructed us to do, are no different than the Pharisees who taught things for people to do which was never commanded to do, such as washing hands, pots, etc.. They ADDED what THEY thought should be done.
If any Christian does what Jesus and His Apostle instructed us to do, they are doing the Will of God. Anyone who teaches Christians they should do something MORE than what Jesus and His Apostles instructed us to do, are trying to add a burden to the Body of Christ, ADDING their own logic, their own thinking, teaching Christians should observe the 10 Commandments, which thing Jesus nor any Apostle EVER INSTRUCTED us to do. Pharisees they are.

10 Commandments was given to the Israelite people to follow and to obey.
We Christians are to follow and obey everything Jesus and His Apostles told us to do.

The Apostle John plainly said several times that if you Love Jesus you will Keep His Commandments. That same Apostle plainly told us what His Commandments are. To Believe on Jesus and Love One Another. ANYONE who believes in Jesus and Loves One Another, is in fact "KEEPING HIS COMMANDMENTS" Anyone who teaches "His Commandments" are something other than what the Apostle plainly told us His Commandments are, is only trying to deceive the Body of Christ. Do not hearken to them. And what saddens me, is that those who teach such things are so blind to the Truth, they actually think they are doing God service by teaching people to Keep the 10 Commandments, which thing Jesus never taught, which thing none of the Apostles ever taught for us to do. These people will not be able to plead ignorance on that Day, because i have told you the Truth, which i say is what God has told me.

Hi epostle, nice to meet you.

Jesus did indeed rise again in Sunday. The problem is that there is no scripture in God's Word that says that God's 4th commandment the 7th day Sabbath has been Abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day in it's place.

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)
And His Commandments are to believe on Jesus and Love one another. According to I John 3:22-24 if i Believe on Jesus and Love One Another i AM keeping His Commandments. But YOU say if i don't keep one of the 10 Commandments given to Israel to follow and obey, that i am breaking His Commandments. Should i believe YOU or what the Word of God says?

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?
LoveGodForever teaches if we don't keep the 4th Commandment we are breaking the Commandments of God
Scriptures teach if we believe on Jesus and Love One Another we are KEEPING THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD.

So then take your own advice, to believe the Word of God over what men teach, then i should not hearken to you, but hearken to the Word of God which plainly teaches if we Beleive on Jesus and Love One Another we ARE keeping the Commandments of God. Sad you do not follow your own advice, should you not believe Scriptures and stop teaching His Commandments are to keep the 10 Commandments, ( which was given to the Israelite people to follow and obey under the OLD COVENANT)? Do you believe Scriptures which plainly teach What His Commandments are? or believe you which teach His Commandments are to obey part or all of the 10 Commandments?

Should i believe YOU or Scriptures?
You should believe Scriptures and stop teaching things that are clearly the teaching of men. If you think keeping the 4th Commandment is not a teaching of man. Then show us one verse where Jesus teaches we should keep the 4th Commandment. Can you show one verse where the any Apostle ever instructed us to keep the 4th Commandment? YOU CAN'T because they didn't ever, not once teach that lie.

Under the Old Covenant keeping the 10 Commandments is what kept a person in good standing with God.
Under the New Covenant Jesus gave us a NEW Commandment to Love One Another. So anyone who believes in Jesus and Loves One Another, is indeed, for a fact, without any doubts, are Keeping His Commandments. Woe to anyone who teaches otherwise.

May God bless you as you seek him through His Word.
Amen, may everyone seek knowledge through the Word of God and not through and by their own interpretations and intellect.

I think its a basic logic problem.

If we are not required to do anything beyond 4 things from the Law, it automatically says Sabbath is not required, because it is not listed in the 4 things.
Even Jesus Himself when He walked the Earth as a human, when asked "What must I do to be Saved" replied to the man a list of commandments to keep in order to be Saved, and Jesus Himself DID NOT LIST the 4th Commandment. Did He forget? Did the creator of the Universe, the person with All Knowledge, FORGET to mention the 4th Commandment, or was it just not that important to Jesus Christ?

Mat 19:16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
Mat 19:17 And he said unto him,
Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Mat 19:18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said,
Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Mat 19:19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Mat 19:20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
Mat 19:21 Jesus said unto him,
If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

WOW, not one time did Jesus felt it was necessary to include keeping the Sabbath as one of the requirements to be Saved, to have Eternal Life. How can you explain that away LoveGodForever?

It is because with Jesus Christ with us and in us, we are guiltless for profaning the sabbath day as Matthew 12:1-7 proves.

The law was not done away with; but Jesus fulfilled the law and by Him being in us, we are blameless for profaning the sabbath days.

Hello DD,

Some comments for you below my friend and covers your posts above..........

True. And The Apostle John plainly tells us Christians what His Commandments are, which are To believe in Him and to Love One Another.
Also true. This is because LOVE is the FULFILLING of God's LAW in those who through FAITH in God's Word walk in HIS Spirit (Romans 13:8-10; Romans 8:1-4) and it why Jesus says ON THESE TWO COMMANDMENTS of LOVE to GOD and MAN, HANG ALL the LAW and the PROPHETS (Matthew 22:36-40). You cannot separate God's Law from LOVE and this is why all need to be BORN AGAIN through FAITH to LOVE HIM as HE FIRST LOVED US. FAITH is the VICTORY that OVERCOMES (1 John 3:3-10; 1 John 5:4). Those the say they KNOW HIM and do not have the FRUIT of FAITH are STILL in their SINS and have not SEEN HIM or KNOW HIM (1 John 3:6). You CANNOT SEPARATE LOVE from OBEDIENCE (God'
s LAW) because it is only through LOVE that anyone can be obedient to FOLLOW Him who LOVE ALL and WHY in the NEW COVENANT ALL need to be BORN of GOD through the operation of FAITH on the HEART to LOVE HIM who first LOVED us. You cannot separate LOVE from GOD'S LAW because GOD is LOVE and he that does NOT LOVE does not know GOD. You cannot separate LOVE from Gods LAW (10 commandments) that is why Jesus says on these two commandments of LOVE hang all the LAW and the prophets.....

We Christians are to follow and obey everything Jesus and His Apostles told us to do.
Well that statement is not true at all but I agree we are commanded to do what Jesus and the Apostles asked us to do. Let's see what God's Word says Jesus and the Apostles taught about God's 10 commandments.............

Jesus taught the 10 commandments…..

1. Jesus kept God’s Law (10 commandments) and said the Law and the prophets would not pass away (Matt 5:17-18)
2. Jesus taught others to follow the 10 commandments (Mark 10:17-21)
3. Jesus taught that Love is the fulfilling (doing) of God’s Law (10 commandments Matt 22:36-40)
4. If we break God’s Law by following man-made traditions we are not following God (Matt 15:3-9)
5. Jesus says if we commit sin we are a servant of sin and he has come to free us from sin (John 8:32-36)
6. Jesus taught if you love God you will keep God’s Law and abide in His Love (John 14:15; 15:10
7. If anyone is breaking any of God’s commandments and teaching others to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven <least = lost> (Matt 5:19)
8. No one can obey God’s Law producing the fruit of obedience of ourselves and unless we abide in Jesus we can do nothing (John 15:4-10)

Paul affirms the Ten Commandments……

1. Paul teaches God's people keep the Sabbath Hebrews 4.
2. Paul tells gentiles that "what matters is KEEPING the Commandments of GOD" 1 Cor 7:19
3. Paul tells gentiles "it is not the HEARERS of the Law that are just before God but the DOERS of the Law will be justified... on the day when according to my GOSPEL God will judge all mankind" Rom 2:13-16
4. Paul asks that gentiles consider the doctrine of LAW "Do we then make void the LAW of God by our faith? God forbid! In fact we establish the Law of God" Rom 3:31
5. Paul tells ALL Christians that it is only the lost who will "not subject themselves to the Law of God neither indeed CAN they" Rom 8:6-8
6 Paul reaches all Christians under the NEW Covenant that God's LAW as known in Jer 31:31-33 is "written on the heart and mind" Heb 8:7-11
7. Paul tells all Christians that the OT text is to be used for Doctrine 2Tim 3:16
AND He never claims that "if I did not write it -- it is not scripture for us today" -- as one or two have imagined for us.
8. Paul tells all Christians that the 5th commandment is the "FIRST commandment with a promise" Eph 6:1-2 and is binding on all Christians.
9. God's Law (10 commandments) are holy, just and good (Rom 7:12)
10. God's Law gives us a knowledge of what sin is (Rom 3:20; 7:7)
11. The penalty of breaking God's Law without Jesus is death (Rom 6:23)
12. If we break God's Law we dishonor God (Rom 2:23)
13. If we sin we are "under the Law" and guilty before God (Rom 3:19)
14. We are saved by faith but our faith establishes the Law in us (Rom 3:31)
15. If we are saved by grace we should not break God's Law (Rom 6:1-7)
16. We should not break God's Law if we are under grace (Rom 6:15)
17. We are to serve the Law of God through the mind because that is where sin starts (Rom 6:17; 7:25; 8:4; 12:2)
18. It is God's Law that brings us to Jesus (Gal 3:24)
19. God's salvation frees us from sin so we can be obedient to God's Law and live a life of holiness (Rom 6:22)
20. We will be judged by God's Law and only those that are obedient will be justified because of their faith (Rom 2:4-13)
21. God's Law can only be obeyed through love and a changed heart which comes by faith in God's Word (Rom 2:21-29; 13:9-10; Heb 8:9-10)
22. If we break God's Law and are in unrepentant sin we will be lost and will received God's judgements (Heb 10:26-27)

John affirms the 10 commandments……

1. John says it is only by keeping God’s 10 commandments that we know that we know God (1 John 2:3)
2. If someone says that they know God and do not keep God’s 10 commandments they are lying and not telling the truth (1 John 2:4)
3. We should purify ourselves as Jesus is pure (1 John 3:3)
4. Sin is the breaking of God’s 10 commandments (1 John 3:4)
5. Whoever is abiding in Christ does not commit sin (1 John 3:6; John 15:4-10)
6. If you are in unrepentant sin you have not seen Jesus or know him (1 John 3:6)
7. John warns us that only those that are obedience to God’s Law are his true followers (1 John 3:7)
8. If someone is committing unrepentant sin they are following the devil and not God (1 John 3:7)
9. If you are born of God and abiding in him you will not commit sin (1 John 3:9; 1 John 3:6; John 15:4-10
10. It is the keeping of God’s commandments that is the difference between those that are following God and those that are not following God (1 John 3:10; 1 John 5:3)
11. It is only by Love through faith that we can keep God’s commandments (1 John 5:3-4)
12. God’s true believers in the end days will keep all of God’s commandments through faith in Jesus (Rev 14:12; 22:14)

James also affirms the 10 commandments…….

1. James says God’s Law (10 commandments) are a Royal Law (James 2:8)
2. If we break one of God’s commandments we a guilty before God as sinners breaking all of God’s Law and gave some examples of breaking God’s Law (James 2:9-11)
3. James says God’s Law is a law of liberty and freedom (James 2:12)
4. The 10 commandments (God’s Law) are the standard in the judgment (James 2:12)
5. If our faith does not have the fruit of obedience to God’s Law it is dead and not true faith (James 2:16-26)

Peter affirms the 10 commandments……..

1. Sanctification is to obedience to God’s Law (1 Pet 1:2)
2. We can only be changed from sin to obedience to God’s Law by the power of God and it will be revealed in the last days (1 Pet 1:5)
3. We should give up our sins to be holy because Jesus is holy (1 Pet 1:13-16)
4. Jesus is your example who did no sin (1 Pet 2:21-22)
5. Cease from sin and do not live in the flesh (1 Pet 4:1-3)
6. Judgement will begin at the house of God and sinners (those breaking God’s 10 commandments) will not be saved.
7. God has given us his precious promises and as we believe them God will grant us his divine power to live a life of Godliness (obedience to God’s Law; 2 Pet 1:2-4)
8. The Un-Godly (disobedient to God’s Law) will be like Sodom and Gomorrah (2 Pet 2:6)
9. If any turn away from God’s Law and are in unrepentant sin breaking any of God’10 commandments they will be lost (2 Pet 2:20-22)
10 God is not willing that any should perish but that everyone should come to repentance and turn away from sin to follow God’s 10 commandments because those that do not will receive the judgements of God (2 Pet 3:5-14)

What did Jesus and the Apostles teach about the Sabbath in the New Testament?

1. It is lawful to do good on the Sabbath (Matt 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56)
2. Jesus made the Sabbath for all mankind (Hebrews 1:2; John 1:1-3; 14; Ephesians 3:9; Colossians 1:16-17; Mark 2:27)
3. Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath (Mark 2:28)
4. If you do not believe and follow God you cannot enter His Sabbath rest (Hebrews 4)
5. It is one of God’s 10 commandments we break it we are guilty or breaking all (James 2:8-12)
6. Breaking it is sin (1 John 3:4)
7. God’s true followers keep it Holy as God commanded (Rev 14:12; Rev 22:14; Eze 20:20)
8. Jesus is our example and he kept the Sabbath (Matt 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56; John 2:6; Matt 16:24; 1 Cor 11:1; Eph 5:1-21; Pet 2:20-22)
9. The Apostle kept the Sabbath (Acts 13:14; 13:27; 13:44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4; Rev 1:10)

God’s Law in the NC is written on our hearts it is through love and it is love the fulfils God’s Law in us as we walk not after the flesh but after the spirit and is why Jesus says f you love me keep my commandments. (John 14:15; John 15:10). If we knowingly break one of God’s commandments we commit sin (1 John 3:4). This includes the 7th Day Sabbath which Jesus made for us and commands us to keep as a holy day.

Yes seems to be a lot of scripture from Jesus and the Apostles...

10 Commandments was given to the Israelite people to follow and to obey.
Who are God's true Israel? They are those that have the oracles of God and believe and follow it.

Who are Israel?

"Israel" is only a name given by God himself to represent his people. The origin of the name "Israel" come from Genesis 32:28 where Jacob wrestled with the Angel and prevailed ...for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. Its meaning is his posterity will rule as God. Jacob had 12 sons representing the 12 tribes of Israel.

Israel is only a name given by God that represents God's people and today anyone who is following Jesus is part of God's Israel according to God's Word.

What does God's Word say.....................................................................…

Let God be true and every man a liar that thou might be justified in thy sayings, and might overcome when thou art judged.

Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He says not, and to seeds, as of many; but as of one, AND TO YOUR SEED, WHICH IS CHRIST (Galatians 3:16)

Abraham’s seed is Israel................................................

THERE IS NEITHER JEW NOR GREEK, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: FOR YOU ALL ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS AND IF YOU BE CHRISTS, THEN YOU ARE ABRAHAM'S SEED FOR YOU ARE ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS and IF YOU BE CHRISTS, THEN ARE YOU ABRAHAM'S SEED, AND HEIRS ACCORDING TO THE PROMISE (Galatians 3:28).

No explanation needed, believe God's Word, and again..........................

FOR THEY ARE NOT ALL ISRAEL WHICH ARE OF ISRAEL,: NEITHER, BECAUSE THEY ARE THE SEED OF ABRAHAM, ARE THEY ALL CHILDREN: but in Isaac shall thy seed be called <Christ> That is, THEY WHICH ARE THE CHILDREN OF THE FLESH, THESE ARE NOT THE CHILDREN OF GOD: BUT THE CHILDREN OF THE PROMISE <those who believe> ARE COUNTED FOR THE SEED (Romans 9:6).

FOR HE IS NOT A JEW WHICH IS ONE OUTWARDLY; NEITHER IS THAT CIRCUMCISION, WHICH IS OUTWARDS IN THE FLESH: BUT HE IS A JEW WHICH IS ONE INWARDLY; and CIRCUMCISION IS OF THE HEART, IN THE SPIRIT, AND NOT IN THE LETTER; whose praise is not of men, but of God. (Romans 2:28-29)

Believe the scriptures......................................................................

Galatians 3:28-29
,
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Colossians 3:11,
Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

Romans 10:11-13,
For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 2:28-29,
For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

The New Covenant is for God's Israel..........................

Jeremiah 31:33-4,
But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, says the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, says the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Hebrews 8:10-12,For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Hebrews 10:14-17,
For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, this is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

Galatians 3:29,

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise

The New Covenant is for God's Israel which represent God’s followers the believers. If you are not part of God's Israel you are not part of the New Covenant (Hebrews 8:10-12).

God's Israel are those that believe the Word of God and follow it and is why Jesus says If you love me keep my commandments (John 14:15)

Hope this is helpful.................. LOVE IS THE FULFILLING of GOD'S LAW IN US who WALK by FAITH and NOT by SIGHT and the POWER of GOD on those WHO BELIEVE.

Agreed. If we do not have love we have nothing at all.
Three Questions for LoveGodForever.

1) Does Jesus anywhere at all tell us Christians to keep the 4th Commandment?

2) Does any Apostle anywhere at all tell us Christians to keep the 4th Commandment?

YOU try to teach us Christians to keep the 4th Commandment.

3) Should we DO what Jesus and His Apostles instruct us to do or do what YOU say Christians should do?

Could you answer each one of the Questions i ask you above, thanks.

Exo 34:28 And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.

Do you believe the Word of God or no? The above verse plainly and clearly teaches, that even a child could understand it, that the 10 Commandments is the words of the covenant (OLD).
Old Covenant = 10 Commandments.

Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:

Jesus making a NEW COVENANT, will indeed abolish the OLD one, unless of coarse you can find a verse anywhere in Scriptures that teach we are to be UNDER BOTH.

Heb 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
Heb 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

The old covenant had fault, needed to be replaced, abolished, made better.

Heb 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
Heb 8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
(That covenant being the 10 Commandments)

Heb_8:13 In that He saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

Are you not understanding this verse? The Old covenant is OLD, it is decayed, it is ready to vanish away. The OLD COVENANT is the 10 Commandments.

Heb 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

Jesus Christ is the mediator of the New Covenant. Moses was the mediator of the old covenant.
Jesus Himself gave us the New Covenant. Moses gave the Israelites the old covenant which was the 10 Commandments

You do greatly error teaching that we Christians who are under the New Covenant by Jesus Christ is to obey any part of the Old Covenant given by Moses to the Israelites. If you continue to teach such things, which is indeed contrary to the words of the New Covenant, you will not escape His wrath.

Anyone who obeys the words of Jesus and does what He tells them to do is abiding in the new Covenant
Anyone who obeys the words of His Apostles and do what they tell us to do is abiding in the new Covenant.

Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Mat 19:18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Mat 19:19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 19:20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
Mat 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
WOW, not one time did Jesus felt it was necessary to include keeping the Sabbath as one of the requirements to be Saved, to have Eternal Life. How can you explain that away LoveGodForever?^i^††† In His Holy and Precious Name, Jesus Christ †††DiscipleDave
Dave your a funny one. Your earlier posts say that Jesus never taught the 10 commandments now your quoting Jesus teaching the second six commandments as an argument not to keep the 4th?

Ok let's have a look at what your saying and the scriptures........

Matthew 19
16, And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17, And he said unto him, Why call thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
18, He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19, Honor thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
20, The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
21, Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22, But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
23, Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Key scriptures.....

The rich young ruler believed he was obeying His duty of LOVE to his neighbor v20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

Jesus identified the problem in v21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me

The rich young ruler saw His problem in v22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

The problem was not that the rich young ruler was breaking the 6 commandments highlighted by Jesus of our duty of LOVE to our fellow man. It was that he made a GOD of His RICHES and broke the first two commandments of having other Gods and making Idols of His Riches. He LOVED his RICHES more than GOD. This is why he went away sorrowful because he DID NOT want to GIVE UP his RICHES and FOLLOW GOD.

WOW and there you go you provided the scriptures that answer your own questions. God's 4th commandment is one of God's ten. If we break any one of the ten we stand guilty before God of committing SIN (James 2:11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4; Romans 3:20) If any of us are practicing UNREPENTANT SIN we are NOT in a saved state before GOD because of rejecting the GIFT of God's dear son (Hebrews 10:26-27; Hebrews 8:4-8; Romans 6:23).

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

May God bless you as you seek him through His Word.

Remember Jesus and the Apostles, all where under the Old Covenant, and kept all the laws and statutes of the Old Covenant, if Jesus did not, then there would have been sin found in Him, and would not have been a perfect sacrifice under the OLD COVENANT. So then Jesus and the Apostles all kept the Sabbath when they were under the OLD COVENANT.
But once the New Covenant started, the moment Jesus rose from the Grave, is when the Old Covenant became old, and vanished away. Jesus Christ is the New Covenant. AFTER Jesus rose from the dead is when the New Covenant began.

So anyone who argues that we should keep the Sabbath because Jesus did, would have to also teach we are to keep all 600+ commandments because Jesus kept all those as well.

Jesus was circumcised on the 8th day, does that mean Everyone must be circumcised because Jesus was circumcised?
Jesus kept the Sabbath, does that mean Everyone must keep the Sabbath because Jesus did?
Jesus walked every where He went to, does that mean we all should walk to work and never drive again?
People wake up. Those who keep His Commandments are they that believe on Jesus and Love One Another, anyone who tells you something other than that is not of God.

He excluded the thought of maintaining the Sabbath. He knew He had fulfilled it
I think you will find He Taught the Sabbath..

someone else is at work excluding the thought..

but certainly not the Lord of Sabbath...

you do not know what you propose so may you be forgiven.. you unwittingly speak great lies because you fail to believe.

What are you advocating? Disobedience with weak reasoning.. if the Lord taught us to walk everywhere then we should walk everywhere.. but I recall Him not only walking.. so that is a no go anyhow.

Hi DD,

I will answer your questions if after this you will answer mine? Hope we have a deal in good faith...................

1) Does Jesus anywhere at all tell us Christians to keep the 4th Commandment?
Absolutely. God's 4th commandment is one of the ten commandments and you have all the scriptures already posted by Jesus and the apostles in post # 707 (linked)........................

Matthew 22

36, Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37, Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38, This is the first and great commandment.
39, And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40, ON THESE TWO COMMANDMENTS HANG ALL THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS

Now there is more then enough scriptures posted here and above already to answer your question # 1 but let's see what the scriptures say about Jesus and the Sabbath after all he is OUR EXAMPLE and we should FOLLOW him right? (1 Peter 2:21)

There you go question 1 answered....

2) Does any Apostle anywhere at all tell us Christians to keep the 4th Commandment?
Absolutely, God's 4th commandment is one of the ten commandments if we break one we stand guilty before God of breaking them all (James 2:8-12)

God's Law (10 commandments) in the New Testament

1 You shall have no other gods before Me.
It is written: You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only you shall serve. (Luke 4:8; Matthew 4:10; Revelation 14:7)

2 You must not make for yourself a carved image, a likeness of anything in heaven, on earth, or under the sea.
God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. (John 4:24; Acts 15:20; 1 Corinthians 6:9; Ephesians 5:5; 1 Peter 4:3; 1 John 5:21; Revelation 2:14)

3 You shall not take the Name of the Lord your God in vain.
(1 Timothy 6:1, James 2:7)

4 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
The Sabbath [seventh day] was made for man, not man for the Sabbath, so the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath. (Mark 2:27-28, Hebrews 4; Matthew 12:8; Matthew 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56(Mark 2:28; Matthew 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56; John 2:6; Matthew 16:24; 1 Corinthians 11:1; Ephesians 5:1-21; 1 Peter 2:20-22; Acts 13:14; 13:27; 13:44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4; Revelations 1:10 Is binding on all mankind today COL 2:14-17 THE REAL TRUTH THREAD (Linked)

5 Honor your father and mother.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. (Ephesians 6:1; Colossians 3:20; Matthew 15:4; Matthew 19:19)

6 You shall not murder.
I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:44-45; Matt. 5:21-26; Romans 13:9; 1 Timothy 1:9; 1 John 3:15; James 2:11; Matthew 19:18)

7 You shall not commit adultery.
I say to you whoever even looks at another in lust has already committed adultery in their heart. (Matthew 5:28, 1 Cor. 5:11, 1 Cor. 6:18, Galatians 5:19, Hebrews 13:4, James 2:11, Matthew 19:19, Romans 13:9)

8 You shall not steal.
Neither thieves, the greedy, or drunkards and robbers will inherit the Kingdom. (1 Corinthians 6:10, Romans 2:21, Mark 7:21, Ephesians 4:28, Romans 13:9, Matthew 19:18)

9 You shall not bear false witness.
For by your words, you will be justified and by your words you will be condemned. (Matthew 15:19, Ephesians 4:25, Col. 3:9; Matthew 19:18, Romans 13:9)

10 You shall not covet your neighbours possessions.
Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist of the things he possesses. (Luke 12:15, Romans 7:7, Ephesians 5:3, 1 Tim. 6:10, Hebrews 13:5, Romans 13:9)

Question 2 answered............

YOU try to teach us Christians to keep the 4th Commandment.
Nope sorry I am only a messenger. These are God's Words and not mine I am not here to judge you but only to share God's Word with you. If you are BELIEVING and FOLLOWING God's WORD all praise to HIM who LOVES all. If you are not then God's Word is true and sharper then any two edged sword and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW Him who is calling us.

This is why Jesus says; If any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejects me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day (John 12:47-48).

You are only a "Christian" if you BELIEVE and FOLLOW the WORD of GOD. IF you do not than no matter how you want to spin it if you are STILL in your SINS you do NOT know Him who LOVES all and need to REPENT and seek him while he may be found for forgiveness so you can RECEIVE the Holy Spirit (1 John 3:3-10; Acts 2:38; Acts 3:19; Acts 5:32; Hebrews 19:26-27)

3) Should we DO what Jesus and His Apostles instruct us to do or do what YOU say Christians should do?
We should ONLY do what God asks us to do and is the reason for pointing ALL to GOD'S WORD over the teachings and traditions of man that break the commandments of God and lead others away from Him who LOVES us. There is only safety in God's Word and it is there that we should point all because it is ONLY in God's Word that any of us can know His truth and find Jesus. If we follow the teachings of man that break the commandments of God Jesus says we are NOT following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There we go I answered all your questions now I hope you do not mind as it is my turn now..............

1. IF someone is living a life of known UNREPENTANT SIN, while professing to be a Christian or not, are they in a SAVED state before God or an UNSAVED State before God?

2. Where in God's Word does it say that Gods 4th commandment has now been ABOLISHED and we Christians are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day?

3. Where does it say in God's Word that Jesus is a Sabbath?

or please show the scriptures from God's Word that says..................

The Sabbath (seventh day) was ever changed from the seventh to the first day of the week?

Where we are told to keep the first day of the week holy?

Where the first day of the week (Sunday) is ever called a holy day?

That says that Jesus ever kept the first day (Sunday)?

That tells us to keep the first day in honour of the resurrection of Christ?

Where the first day is ever given any sacred name?

That affirms that any of the apostles ever kept the first day as the Sabbath?

From any apostolic writings that authorizes Sunday observance as the Sabbath of God?

Where we are told not to work on the first day of the week?

That says the seventh day is no longer God's Sabbath day?

That says the seventh day Sabbath is ABOLISHED?

Where the apostles ever taught any convert to keep the first day of the week as a Sabbath?

Where the first day was ever appointed to be kept as the Lord's Day?

Where the first day of the week is ever called the Lord's Day?

That says that the first day of the week was ever sanctified and hallowed as a day of rest?

That says that the Father or the Son (Jesus) rested on the first day of the week?

That says that Jesus, Paul or any other of the apostles taught anyone to observe the first day of the week as the Sabbath?

That calls the seventh day the “Jewish Sabbath” or one text that calls Sunday the “Christian Sabbath”?

Telling man to keep the first day of the week holy or to worship or rest on the first day of the week?

Authorizing anyone to set aside God's Sabbath and observe any other day?

Showing any of the apostles keeping the first day of the week as the Sabbath?

Authorizing someone to set aside the fourth Commandment and observe any other day of the week?

Where any apostle taught us to keep the first day of the week as the Sabbath?

Declaring that the seventh day is no longer the Eternal Sabbath day?

Where Sunday is now appointed to be kept as the New Testament Sabbath or holy day?

Seems there is a lot of holes in what your promoting. I sincerely hope the questions above will help you in your study of the Word of God.

May God bless you are you seek him through His Word.......

Hi DD,
This might also be a good topic to discuss when you have some time and if you can read the OP here. What are the OLD and New Covenants and what is the difference between the OLD and NEW Covenants mean to you? Look forward to your reply :)

Hi DD you seem to have God's Law (10 commandments) mixed up with the Mosaic laws written by Moses in a book that were shadows pointing to Jesus and fulfilled at the cross. Do you know the difference and purpose of God's Law (10 commandments) and the Mosaic laws written in the book? That is a great topic for discussion as well if you have some time.

May God bless you as you seek him in His Word.

Again this was a basic set of requirements to enter a place of worship, as once they entered they would learn the ways of YHWH because as verses 21 states; “Mosheh has, in every city, those proclaiming him – being read in the congregations every Sabbath.”
Nice post. Could you post some references in regards to what I highlighted in bold?

Have you ever noticed that James assigns a reason for saying... that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.

He says, "For (Because) Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath day."
(Act 15:20-21 KJV)

In other words James was saying we will share these four things because Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath day.
(Act 15:21)

It would be a very confusing thing to say if James had not thought that the new converts would be in the synagogues every Sabbath to learn more of what GOD had given Moses for us to live by .

Hi DD,

It is not about this or that. It is about SIN which is breaking any of God's Commandments that is the problem and how anyone living a life of KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN is not in a saved state before God. Jesus is soon to return. In our lifetime or not, it does not matter only now if you hear His Voice harden not your heart like in the day of provocation but exhort one another daily, while it is called today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of SIN. For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end;

We only have today and if anyone is living their life in known unrepentant SIN they are not ready for my Lords return because he will come as a thief like in the days of Noah and Sodom saying where is the sign of His coming for all things continue as before.... Anyone worshiping their idols that follow the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God are not ready for His return.

It is my duty of LOVE to my neighbor to share God's Word to all that will hear and to WARN him that may be in SIN because if I do not my Lord will require my neighbors blood as Cain and ask where is thy brother. We can not say to him who loves all like Cain I am not my brothers keeper when God has asked us to LOVE as he has first loved us.

It's never been about following the law for salvation. Its always been about following Christ by faith through love alone. Faith that works by love is what fulfills God's Law in those that walk in His Spirit (Romans 13:8-10). Obedience is only the fruit of faith and a sign that someone is genuinely following God's Word (Matthew 7:17-27).

If you seek obedience without faith you will never attain it because this is the gift of God written on the heart (Ephesians 2:8; Galatians 2:16; Hebrews 8:10-12). But if you believe God's Word, your faith will be counted for righteousness in God's eyes (Romans 1:17; Philippians 3:9). If your faith does not have the fruit of obedience (God's work in you) than you are still in your sins and have not seen him or known him and your faith is dead (Philippians 2:13; Hebrews 10:26-27; 1 John 2:2-4; 1 John 3:3-9).

SIN will keep you out of God's Kingdom so the call goes forth from God's Word REPENT for the KINGDOM of HEAVEN is at hand. We only have today to choose who we will follow. The teachings and traditions of man or the Word of God?

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) and like any of the ten, if we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

It is because with Jesus Christ with us and in us, we are guiltless for profaning the sabbath day as Matthew 12:1-7 proves.

The law was not done away with; but Jesus fulfilled the law and by Him being in us, we are blameless for profaning the sabbath days.
This is all human reasoning ! WHO said Jesus profaned the sabbath day...was it God or man ? the Pharisees accused Him - not God ! there is never a word spoken against the Son by His Father...so having something to eat on the sabbath was never deemed a sin by God.
So what does modern christianity do on the sabbath that is more than just eating and drinking which is allowed by God ? they have gone a step further and abolished it as GOD's Holy Day...for which they have received NO instruction.
Satan is very subtle to entice man to step over the line set by God !

Let's take a look.
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
(Mat 22:37-40 KJV)

Jesus said that all the Law and prophets hang on these two. So what is meant by hang?

Strong's concordance has this:
G2910
κρεμάννυμι
kremannumi
krem-an'-noo-mee
A prolonged form of a primary verb; to hang: - hang.

Thayer writes in his unabridged work."The meaning is, all the Law and the Prophets (i. e. the teaching of the O. T. on morality) is summed up in these two precepts.

Mounce writes in His work. "To hang upon, to be referable to as an ultimate principle, Mat_22:40"

And lastly in the BDAG Lexicon, it is written: "all the law and the prophets hang (depend) on these two commandments Mt 22:40 (as a door hangs on its hinges, so the whole OT hangs on these two comm."

Couple that with what We all ready know, For Jesus also said, "Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."
(Mat 5:18 KJV)

Since heaven and earth have not passed away, and all has not been fulfilled, not one jot or tittle has passed from the Law.

So has anything changed?

GOD says through Paul in 2 Corinthians 3, "Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life."

So it is to be understood that, through that which has been written in our hearts. We are abled ministers. It is a new ministration; no longer through Tables of stone, but through the Spirit through our hearts.

For GOD has said, "Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (That is, to bring Christ, the Word, all that GOD would have us be. HIS Commandments down from above Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (That is, to bring up Christ, the Word, all that GOD would have us be. HIS Commandments again from the dead.) But what saith it? The word (Christ; the Word, the commandments manifested in the flesh, our flesh) is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, in thy heart, and in thy hand: that we may do it; that is, THE WORD OF FAITH, which we preach. And that is the Gospel, the Kingdom of GOD (CHRIST) in you. For GOD hath said, "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them." And HE shall be our GOD and we shall be HIS people, for it is GOD that works in us both to will and do HIS good pleasure. Christ (the Word, His Commandments, GOD's will) in us the hope of Glory. For without this faith it is impossible to please GOD.

Please notice the connections that are being made in the text above. Christ, the Word, all that GOD would have us be; HIS Commandments are interchangeable in the text above. And mind you this work in our hearts is the Gospel and is the word of faith in which we speak.
