Some women may have issues with the phrase, "sons of God", some may not. We are all Children of God and all are one in Christ; neither male nor female, slave or free. Like your screen says, Circumcised_Heart, it is a spiritual circumcision not physical, which I know you know. what I am saying is we are all one in Jesus Christ and I suppose most women will add this to their understanding of the bible. You could start a thread and do a pole if that may help; you may get some amazing results.

Some languages add a gender specific word to identify the sex to which you are speaking, and sometimes a cafe latte is just a cafe latte wherever you go. It is the spiritual that gives relevance to our life in Christ Jesus. For me their is no greater honor than being considered "the bride of Christ" because we will be forever with our Lord and Saviour.

Sonship just means those who are in the body of Jesus Christ, no gender specific since it's spiritual union. So His Bride, or those who are joined to Him, one with Him, are no gender specific too. All of the Spirit.

Its just a symbolic picture of union of becoming one, and marriage depicts it.

Jesus died for the sin of the world. It's all sin, the nature of sin being iniquity.

We do have the blessing of our conscience being sprinkled with His searching our hearts and exposing the areas He wants to clean. Seen in His foot washing ritual. That is our daily walk which may have and probably will have areas of failure to live up to our standard, the walk of our Lord.

Jesus paid my sin debt the day he said it is finished.....there remains no more sacrifice for sins......and that is exactly why God's grace out bounds any sin that a believer may commit.....the only thing that needs washing is my feet.....end of story.

Only when I'm dealing with someone who is self righteous. Now self-condemnation indicates that a person is condemning himself. In 1 Peter 5:8, we read that the devil is like a roaring lion going throughout the earth seeking whom he may devour. He knows how to prey on people that are prone to deep feelings of shame and guilt. This is what you find in the personality of the self-condemning person. The Holy Spirit does not convict us to torment us. He convicts us bring us to repentance and forgiveness.

1 John 1:8 - If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

So you are in a religion where sin won't cause condemnation?

I thank God for allowing us to remain sin-free in the light.
The light is God, so to walk with God we must be in the light: and there is no sin in God.

God is Spirit. Both male/female, no gender specific.

God is always referred to as He. He made man and woman in His image, but scripture does always refer to God as He.

Cant remember the exact Hebrew name right now, but am thinking it's El Shaddai.

I'd be interested to know, if you remember it.

Jesus died for the sin of the world. It's all sin, the nature of sin being iniquity.

We do have the blessing of our conscience being sprinkled with His searching our hearts and exposing the areas He wants to clean. Seen in His foot washing ritual. That is our daily walk which may have and probably will have areas of failure to live up to our standard, the walk of our Lord.

AMEN....I am beginning to believe that some saved have no understanding of saved, sealed, justified and sanctified in Christ eternally....justified = rendered innocent and it is tied to the word eternally.....not temporarily

I noticed a deceived sinless perfectionist asked what sinner has faith....My answer is...read the bible and be open to it's truths and maybe you will figure it out and come into the light.....all who claim to be sinless are deceived, no truth and liars.........according to the bible.

No sinner has faith.
If they did have faith, they would obey God, like Cornelius did.
The faithless think they can fool God.

I agree with this.

I still get unsure about using "sons and daughters" of God, when the scripture says "sons" (although women can be saved just as men can), same as I would feel uneasy about "the bride" being translated as the "groom/bride".

Its probably just a side note, and not meant to detract from the topic.

Your okay, and thats why your screen name is "written in blue" and the women's screen name's are "written in pink"; they are gender specific by color. The women in God's family have a very different role in the Body of Christ than men do. Women are much more fine tuned into the words of our Saviour, (my opinion), maybe because they are a woman and have a different kind of intuition about life and spiritual things. We both complement our Saviour with the gifts He has given to the Body of Christ and this carries over into our earthly marriage as well.

In this week's Torah (Lekh Lekha), the LORD described Himself using the Divine Name El Shaddai (אֵל שַׁדַּי), often mistranslated as "God Almighty." In Genesis 17:1, YHVH said to Abram: "I am El Shaddai. Walk before me and be perfect." But why did the LORD choose to reveal Himself using this distinctive name to Abram?

Most English translations render El Shaddai as "God Almighty," probably because the translators of the Septuagint (i.e., the ancient Greek translation of the Old Testament) thought Shaddai came from a root verb (shadad: שָׁדַד) that means "to overpower" or "to destroy." The Latin Vulgate likewise translated Shaddai as "Omnipotens" (from which we get our English word omnipotent). In other words, the translators regarded this term to suggest that God is so overpowering that He is considered "Almighty."
