Would that be the "truth" Jesus said could free us from committing sin; in John 8:32-34?Nothing and NONE......Preacher quoted truth and applied it correctly.......
Would that be the "truth" Jesus said could free us from committing sin; in John 8:32-34?Nothing and NONE......Preacher quoted truth and applied it correctly.......
I worked at a food bank today, but that is a manifestation of Christ in me and not a work of the law for salvation.I wonder if the workers for, sinless perfectionists and the I keep myself saved crowd has done enough today to remain saved.....??
NOPE....not yesterday, today or even tomorrow......
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy has he saved us <----PAST TENSE for all the deceivers who say salvation is not guaranteed or given until the end......!
Who cares about "life".You never had a tantrum fit about not getting a want? I can't remember if I did or not, but I know my children did until I spanked them. Same with the grandchildren but no spanking. Today we would end up in child welfare courts.
Death by the way, is separation from life. Think about it. Then ask yourself how death affects.
1Jn 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
1Jn 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in thelight, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
1Jn 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1Jn 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Looking at these all together, not just one by one, it seems that fellowshipping is the way we are cleansed of our sins as we confess what Light reveals.
Then we are forgiven and cleansed. Nothing about not needing to be cleansed, but more like, we do. Are these perhaps hidden sins? Motives not quite righteous in His sight?
Am I reading this correct? Or not?
That was the first time I ever felt guilty for doing something wrong...that I can remember. You never committed a sin till you was about 6 years old????
Given that you beleive you can only be sinless when you place your faith in Jesus and have the Holy Spirit I severely doubt your above claim along with the claims you make today.
it is written..."For he that is dead is freed from sin." (Rom 6:7)That DOES NOT MEAN WE ARE SINLESS, but rather that Penalty for all of our sins were PAID FOR on the CROSS. NOR DOES It MEAN we no longer need to Confess each new sin.
Whether you realize it or not, you just said...the disobedient don't have a new nature, they don't believe, they don't have the love of God "poured into their hearts".,and Jesus isn't their Master. It is NOT "HAVE TO". IT IS "ONE WHO TRULY LOVES JESUS WILL WANT TO OBEY HIS COMMANDS". Obedience IS NOT a means to Salvation, but rather part of the new nature, of one truly who WAS SAVED the moment they genuinely Believed, receiving JESUS as LORD, which means MASTER.
Obedience is manifested in us because of GOD's LOVE having been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, the VERY MOMENT we were SAVED, Rom.5:5.
We can crucify the "body of death", bury it, and be raised with Christ to walk in newness of life. (Rom 6:3-6)Other than they live in a body of death they were born with? No one has received the goal of their faith a new incorruptible body . Have you?
The promise they did not receive, was the prophesied Messiah.Heb 11:39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
why are you defending sin?
Your preacher is of the devil.Hi all...Mark 2:17 On hearing this, Jesus said to them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."...
Tonight I was listening to a preacher, and he said " Sinners go to heaven and the self righteous go to hell...
Those who are claiming to be sinless are saying they do not need Jesus no more, they may not say that with their typing, but they must think that in their mind...Sometimes more often then not, we need to go back to milk and remember what Jesus has done for us, it`s a scary place to be when one thinks they have it all together...We may not be where we want to be, but lets praise God and thank Him that we are not where we used to be...Thank you Jesus...Amen...xox...
if you believed in Jesus, wouldn't you obey Him?There are no 1st, 2nd and 3rd phases of salvation which is one of the most ignorant things I have ever heard........only a working for mind could come up with such foolishness....
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy has he SAVED US.
THERE IS ONE PHASE>...BELIEVE IN JESUS BY FAITH and acknowledge it = SAVED
SAVED then
SAVED NOW
SAVED for ALL eternity......
WOW!!!!!!!!
Acussations without proof?I caught you in two white lies already, and they are sin.
James 2:10 (CSBBible)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] For whoever keeps the entire law, and yet stumbles at one point, is guilty of breaking it all.
So...I'm like you?Exactly why you are deceived, have no truth in you and have been found guilty of sin numerous times in this thread....
Jesus can.Who can argue with the wisest man ever born, King Solomon, the author of Proverbs.
"Who can say, "I have kept my heart pure; I am clean and without sin"?" Proverbs20:9
Sinners/unbelievers have a lot more to worry about than just a penalty for unbelief. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
(John 3:18)
For God has consigned all to disobedience, that he may have mercy on all.
(Romans 11:32 ESV)
For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
(Romans 11:32 KJV) Take care, brothers,
lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart,
leading you to fall away from the living God.
(Hebrews 3:12)
Sinners/unbelievers have a lot more to worry about than just a penalty for unbelief.
Your version of scripture changed the interpretation. For by grace you have been saved through faith.
And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God
(Ephesians 2:8)
if humility & confession of sin = "defending sin" why is it what we are commanded to do?
if a person ((hypothetically)) says "
Not at all.unbelief is not sin" are they "defending unbelief" ?
If. as James says in James 1:14-15, it takes am enticement, lust, and conception to commit sin, then a man doing any of these would actually be a "believer".is this you admitting you spoke falsely; that unbelief is sin?
or if you still think not, why is it penalized?
Your version of scripture changed the interpretation.
KJV..."For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:"
Your wording only serves to sway the lovers of false doctrine.
