In reading the poster who says we don't sin after we receive the Spirit, some things Bruce used to say came almost to my understanding them...its murky, but they fell into place.

At the same time, a verse was brought to my remembrance, the one that says the word of God is so powerful that it divides or separates apart, the spirit and the soul.

I think this splitting apart has something to do with how God can reside in me even though my flesh will never stop wanting the awful things it wants, like angry pride when it isn't "respected."

Really? I didn't know that. Wow.

And may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith

a prim. preposition denoting position and by impl. instrumentality

We are positionally placed into Christ and his righteousness which is IMPUTED by FAITH....This results in our justification (rendered innocent even though guilty) and positionally sanctifies us eternally in Christ.

The security of the believer......

Never thought of that. Must be what vexed means huh?

And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:

kataponeó: to wear down
Original Word: καταπονέω
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: kataponeó
Phonetic Spelling: (kat-ap-on-eh'-o)
Short Definition: I ill-treat
Definition: I exhaust by labor or suffering, wear out, overpower, oppress.

It's sort of like when we learned about space rockets in school. They send one up and it climbs and then a part of it becomes useless and the weight needs to be dropped because it has become useless and hindering waste and it separates from the rocket and falls back to the ground.

But there are some moments where it is no longer of any use but is still attached to the rocket.

It seems that is where we are. Still carrying that section but not at the moment where it drops off yet...

Hey phart, at least I used a rocket instead of soggy lasagna. :D

AMEN......JESUS said it best....The SPIRIT is indeed willing, born again, born of incorruptible seed, eternal, without sin, hooly, righteous, sinless.........The flesh is weak, dead, sinful, contrary, does not seek to do right, lustful, fails daily

The battle ground is the mind.....The spirit and the flesh war one with another and if the mind is transformed by the renewing of the mind (study of the word) the less we sin and more holy we walk.....the flip side of the coin is also true....the less we study, the more worldly we will be and more we will fail.

One thing is sure.....our salvation is secure in Christ.....after that the above will determine our works...either gold, silver and precious stones or wood hay and stubble....both equally saved, redeemed, justified, sealed, sanctified in Christ and saved eternally.

Yeah....what I said was right......ABEL's offering shows the FAITH he already had and pointed to the blood and understanding of the GENESIS 3:15 prediction....CAIN had NO FAITH, was LOST and offered WORKS........SEE JUDE....
But DCon,

The BIBLE says both Abel and Cain offered "Works" to God. One's "Work" was accepted, and one's "Work" was not. Do you deny this?

By doing so they both claimed belief in God. Isn't Cain's offering the same as those who said "Lord, Lord in Matt. 7:22? And isn't Abel's offering the same as Abraham's in Gen. 26:5?

Given you disagree with Hiz, may I ask what part of his post you disagree with?

Sure it is possible.....love and truth go hand in hand and two cannot walk together unless agreed.

What you have at the core here...are diametrically opposing dogmas........and when it comes to the root (salvation) there is only one truth......yea when it comes to the bible there is only one truth concerning everything......and make NO MISTAKE.....being a brother or sister in Christ to anyone and between anyone is based upon the root (SALVATION) and being born from above..................

Why did Cain kill ABEL...................

ABEL makes the 11th chapter of HEBREWS because HE HAD FAITH and POINTED to CHRIST dia the BLOOD OFFERING

CAIN was of the DEVIL, and makes JUDE as a false teacher because HE OFFERED HIS WORKS void of FAITH.

Let that sink in!
Why did Yah accept Able's offering and not Cain's? I believe it is because when one have sincere faith they will serve as Yah wants, rather than serving Yah as they want;

Genesis 4 WEB

1, The man knew Eve his wife. She conceived, and gave birth to Cain, and said, “I have gotten a man with Yahweh’s help.
2, "Again she gave birth, to Cain’s brother Abel. Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
3, "As time passed, it happened that Cain brought an offering to Yahweh from the fruit of the ground.
4, "Abel also brought some of the firstborn of his flock and of its fat. Yahweh respected Abel and his offering,
5, "but he didn’t respect Cain and his offering. Cain was very angry, and the expression on his face fell.
6, "Yahweh said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why has the expression of your face fallen?
7, "If you do well, will it not be lifted up? If you don’t do well, sin crouches at the door. Its desire is for you, but you are to rule over it.”

They both did works, and one's works were accepted one's works were not accepted. The heart that truly loves Yah will do as Yah says.

Genesis 4 WEB
3, "As time passed, it happened that Cain brought an offering to Yahweh from the fruit of the ground.
4, "Abel also brought some of the firstborn of his flock and of its fat. Yahweh respected Abel and his offering,
5, "but he didn’t respect Cain and his offering.

Cain offered "from the fruit of the ground"
Abel "also brought some of the firstborn of his flock and of its fat" the word also there means he brought "firstborn of his flock and of its fat" and
"fruit of the ground"

Now this shows us that offering
"fruit of the ground" was not in iteself wrong, so what could be the difference?

Hebrews 11:4, “By belief, Heḇel offered to Yah a greater sacrifice offering than Qayin, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, Yah witnessing of his gifts. And through it, having died, he still speaks.”

1 John 3:12, “Not as Qayin who was of the wicked one and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because his works were wicked but those of his brother were righteous.”

"
By belief" and "works...of his brother (Abel) were righteous"

Why were they righteous? What is righteous?

Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to Yah has to believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who earnestly seek Him.”

Deuteronomy 6:25, "And it is righteousness for us when we guard to do all this command before יהוה our Strength, as He has commanded us.”

Psalm 119:172, “My tongue sings of Your word, For all Your commands are righteousness.”

Exodus 20:6, "But showing love to thousands who love Me by keeping My Laws."

1 John 5:17, "All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not unto death."

1 John 3:4, "Whoever commits sin, transgresses also the Law; for sin is the transgression of the Law."

Did not Cain do works, yet his were not accepted, while faithfil and righteous Abel's works were...
Reminds me of this...

Mat 7:21-23, "Not everyone who says to Me; Teacher! Teacher! Will enter into the Kingdom of YHWH, but only he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day; Teacher! Teacher! Have we not prophesied in Your Name, and cast out demons in Your Name, and in Your Name performed many wonderful works? But then I will declare to them; I never knew you. Get away from Me, you who practice iniquity."

iniquity” is word # G0458 - anomia {an-om-ee'-ah} from G0459, Greek Word Study (Transliteration-Pronunciation Etymology & Grammar)
1) the condition of without law, 1a) because ignorant of it, 1b) because of violating it, 2) contempt and violation of law, iniquity, wickedness

They both offered the work of their hands, Able also offered a blood Sacrifice, which repreented Yahshua/Jesus. One did it the way Yah said one did it the way they deemed fit.
One did as required the other did as they pleased. Abel offered both a blood sacrifice (Yahshua) and fruit from the ground (his own labor).

Revelation 12:17, “And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to fight with the remnant of her seed, those guarding the commands of Yah and possessing the witness of יהושעMessiah."

Revelation 14:12-13, “Here is the endurance of the set-apart ones, here are those guarding the commands of יהוה and the belief of יהושע. And I heard a voice out of the heaven saying to me, Write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Master from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, in order that they rest from their labors, and their works follow with them.”

Hebrews 11, By belief they performed an action;
11:1, "And belief is the substance of what is expected, the proof of what is not seen
11:4, "By belief, Heḇel offered to Yah a greater slaughter offering than Qayin, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, Yah witnessing of his gifts. And through it, having died, he still speaks.
Yeah....what I said was right......ABEL's offering shows the FAITH he already had and pointed to the blood and understanding of the GENESIS 3:15 prediction....CAIN had NO FAITH, was LOST and offered WORKS........SEE JUDE....
Jude 1:10-16, “But these blaspheme that which they do not know. And that which they know naturally, like unreasoning beasts, in these they corrupt themselves. Woe to them! Because they have gone in the way of Qayin, and gave themselves to the delusion of Bil‛am for a reward, and perished in the rebellion of Qoraḥ. (Judges 1:7-11, 2 Peter 2:6-15) These are rocky reefs in your love feasts, feasting with you, feeding themselves without fear, water-less clouds borne about by the winds, late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots, wild waves of the sea foaming up their own shame, straying stars for whom blackness of darkness is kept forever. And Ḥanoḵ, the seventh from Aḏam, also prophesied of these, saying, “See, יהוה comes with His myriads of set-apart ones, to execute judgment on all, to punish all who are wicked among them concerning all their wicked works which they have committed in a wicked way, and concerning all the harsh words which wicked sinners have spoken against Him. These are grumblers, complainers, who walk according to their own lusts, and their mouth speaks proudly, admiring faces of others for the sake of gain.”

Judges 1:7-11, “Even as Seḏom and Amorah and the cities around them in a similar way to these, having given themselves over to whoring and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, undergoing judicial punishment of everlasting fire. In the same way, indeed, these dreamers defile the flesh, and reject authority, and speak evil of esteemed ones. But Miḵa’ĕl the chief messenger, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Mosheh, presumed not to bring against him a blasphemous accusation, but said, “יהוה rebuke you! But these blaspheme that which they do not know. And that which they know naturally, like unreasoning beasts, in these they corrupt themselves Woe to them! Because they have gone in the way of Qayin, and gave themselves to the delusion of Bil‛am for a reward, and perished in the rebellion of Qoraḥ.”

2 Peter 2:6-15, "and having reduced to ashes the cities of Seḏom and Amorah condemned them to destruction – having made them an example to those who afterward would live wickedly, and rescued righteous Lot, who was oppressed with the indecent behaviour of the lawless, (for day after day that righteous man, dwelling among them, tortured his righteous being by seeing and hearing their lawless works), then יהוה knows how to rescue the reverent ones from trial and to keep the unrighteous unto the day of judgment, to be punished, and most of all those walking after the flesh in filthy lust and despising authority – bold, headstrong, speaking evil of esteemed ones, whereas messengers who are greater in strength and power do not bring a slanderous accusation against them before the Master. But these, like natural unreasoning beasts, having been born to be caught and destroyed, blaspheme that which they do not know, shall be destroyed in their destruction, being about to receive the wages of unrighteousness, deeming indulgence in the day of pleasure, spots and blemishes, revelling in their own deceptions while they feast with you, having eyes filled with an adulteress, and unable to cease from sin, enticing unstable beings, having a heart trained in greed, children of a curse, having left the right way they went astray, having followed the way of Bil‛am the son of Be‛or, who loved the wages of unrighteousness.

Nice verse.....applied ignorantly and out of context.....not to mention an attack, deceitful and a misrepresentation.....

I have consistently pointed 100% to CHRIST, his work, his ministry, his grace, his mercy, his righteousness, his justification, his salvation, his mediatorship on our behalf.

And your post proves you are just like a few others who can do nothing but attack those who post truth and point to consistently to JESUS.......
How long are you going to argue with scriptures? Only proves who you really are.

John 3:34 For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.

John 8:47 He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”

Did I say I disagreed?

One had faith the other did not....one was saved and one was not and the points are clear bro.....at the end of the day false teachers are identified with CAIN who is first on the list in JUDE....a LOST man that offered works void of faith............the cart before the ox syndrome....
