Pickleball ;)

Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis.[SUP][2][/SUP] Two, three, or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a wiffle ball, over a net. The sport shares features of other racquet sports, the dimensions and layout of a badminton court, and a net and rules similar to tennis, with a few modifications.

Huh...? Is that a Canadian game? I've never heard of it. Do you use a jar of pickles in the game...? :D

You are right Stunned. The fruit reveals a false prophet. But, anyone can repent. I know and understand what his goal is. It's my goal too.

Am at odds with his words he prints here that aren't loving. Whether or not they are true is not the point. We can speak truth but we don't have to insult.

Re: Not By Works
COL. 1:19-20-21-22-23.
For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fullness dwell;

And, having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself;
by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works,
yet now hath He reconciled

In the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in His sight:

If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel,
which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven
;
whereof I Paul am made a minister;

ROM. 11:22.
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness,
if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

1COR. 9:27.
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others,
I myself should be a castaway.

HEB. 3:12-13-14.
Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing
(to fall away, become faithless, revolt) from the living God.

But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened
through the deceitfulness of sin.

For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence
stedfast unto the end;

11PETER 2:20.
For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of
the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome,
the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

JOHN 15:14.
You are My friends, if ye do whatsoever I Command you.

EPH. 5:9-10.
(For the fruit, (acts-works-deeds-labors) of The Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
Proving what is acceptable unto The Lord.

REV. 22:14.
Blessed are they that do His Commandments, that they may have right to The Tree of Life,
and may enter in through the gates into the city.

I don't see in scripture any difference between a pastor ( who is a shepherd) and elder or an overseer ( bishop ) - it is just different terms speaking of the same person.

I also don't see in the local assembly where one person has the "control" over the assembly. There is always a plurality of eldersonce a church is established in an area.

( Paul did appoint certain ones to set up the local church and talked to them about what to do such as Timothy and Titus ) but that's most likely for another thread.

1 Peter 5:1-3 (NASB)
[SUP]1 [/SUP]
Therefore, I exhort the elders among you, as your fellow elder and witness of the sufferings of Christ, and a partaker also of the glory that is to be revealed,

[SUP]2 [/SUP] shepherd ( greek verb for the word for pastor in Eph. 4:11 ) the flock of God among you, exercising oversight ( Greek verb for bishop as in Phil. 1:1 ) not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness;

[SUP]3 [/SUP] nor yet as lording it over those allotted to your charge, but proving to be examples to the flock.

Here it is again with Paul speaking to the elders in Ephesus.

Acts 20:17 (NASB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP]

From Miletus he sent to Ephesus and called to him the elders of the church.

Acts 20:28 (NASB)
[SUP]28 [/SUP] "Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, ( Greek word for bishop used ) to shepherd ( Greek word for pastor used as a verb ) the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.

Philippians 1:1 (NASB)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] Paul and Timothy, bond-servants of Christ Jesus, To all the saints in Christ Jesuswho are in Philippi, including the overseers and deacons:
Grace777

I didn't get a chance to say what I disagreed about. Only Pentecost and the prayer language. It's for everyone as I see it.

That's it.

The 2 commandments Jesus left us are to love God with all our hearts and love our neighbor as we love ourselves. Thats it. It is only once we can fully accept our true identity in Christ that we can do either of those things. I would suggest that instead of spending so much time worrying about losing your salvation you instead use that time to search the entire Word and see what Jesus says about eternal security.

Well here is how the game got is name and apparently Americans play too. :D

Pickleball has a very interesting name, especially since no pickles are used. Accounts of how the name originated differ.

(1)According to Joel Pritchard’s wife (Joan), she started calling the game pickleball because “the combination of different sports reminded me of the pickle boat in crew where oarsmen were chosen from the leftovers of other boats”. (2) However, according to Barney McCallum, the game was officially named after the Prichards’ dog Pickles who would chase the ball and run off with it. According to McCallum, “The Pritchards had a dog named Pickles, and you’re having fun at a party, right? So anyways, what the hell, let’s just call it pickleball.”

Others claim both accounts may actually be true. In the early years, no official name was assigned to the game. However a year or two after the game was invented, the Pritchards purchased a cocker spaniel and named it Pickles. As the game progressed, an official name was needed and “pickleball” was it.

There are 39 known places to play in North America listed on the Pickleball Stuff website. This represents 10 States, 3 Canadian Provinces and about 150 individual courts.

I am an American and have never once heard someone say they were going to play pickleball. I think the Canadians who live here are responsible for the pickleball mosques in 10 states. ;)

Jesus told Nicodemus 'You must be born again.' As soon as you can unbirth yourself, you can lose your salvation.

Maybe this would help...
I know that you believe the faith you were given was a gift and did not come from you but from God - that you were saved by faith, through the kindness of God, and even that faith was not of yourself so no man can boast.
Explain how you think you have been able to keep your faith and grow in faith, despite the world, your own flesh and the devil, seeking to destroy it?
===================================

sorry to intrude, but, your question is so very easy to answer, -
we must USE the Gift of Faith that Jesus has blessed/given to us,
we must USE it to the best of our ability, and then????, when we do???,
He imparts to us even more FAITH,
as we travel along and along in our journey...

You're such a stickler to truth! "How offensive!!" :p

(someone in Camp Lose Salvation is looking for "unbirth" in Scripture to prove it can happen!)

I'm yet to find the words "UN-birthed," "UN-born again," "UN-regenerated," "UN-sealed with the Holy Spirit" or "lost salvation" in Scripture. ;)

Sof, G7 said people are free to believe whatever they want to believe, but this does not make it true or untrue simply because they choose to believe it. He wasn't claiming that was a bible verse, so it was bizarre for anyone to demand a verse....and it should be apparent by now that he thinks what we believe is important...
I haven't seen a post that someone is demanding a verse. My thought is about Pentecost and did post that somewhere. I don't believe it should be an option. That's all I disagree about.
