well he was 100% For God but alas it was his unwitting "disobedience" that lost him his kingdom, for twice did he unwittingly "disobey" what God told samuel to tell saul to do,and so not only did he lose his kingdom he even didn't get to "add" to his kingdom!
1 Samuel 10

9And it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day. 10And when they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them. 11And it came to pass, when all that knew him beforetime saw that, behold, he prophesied among the prophets, then the people said one to another, What is this that is come unto the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets? 12And one of the same place answered and said, But who is their father? Therefore it became a proverb, Is Saul also among the prophets? 13And when he had made an end of prophesying, he came to the high place.

Why don't you just admit that it is not our righteousness, but Christ's?
Are you so stubborn you refuse to admit what Scripture plainly states?

The other side of the contention is your saying that we are worthy when Scripture says none are worthy but the Lamb Who was slain from the foundation of the world. Your opinions are not Biblical Truth. His Word is Truth, and He gave His life for us while we were YET sinners.

Thanks P4T,

I didn't see this. There's so much traffic here it's difficult to keep up so I miss so much. :) I didn't know about the Free Grace movement, doctrine or whatever.

So they teach licentiousness? Yikes!
Grace Evangelical Society has a video on their Free Grace Theology. Yes, one could gather from that license to sin. I've put the video up before, but people flip out on it because some very famous preachers teach this stuff, and they get offended by it.

One could search for adherents to this teaching, it will surprise many. Then, listen to what they actually are teaching after this, and you will see the errors in what they say. It surprised me as well.

If we were worthy we would not be in need of grace.
Grace is unmerited favor. Grace is a gift from God.

Webster's New World College Dictionary provides this theological definition of grace: "The unmerited love and favor of God toward human beings; divine influence acting in a person to make the person pure, morally strong; the condition of a person brought to God's favor through this influence; a special virtue, gift, or help given to a person by God."

Some express it like this:

God's
Riches
At
Christ's
Expense

2 Corinthians 9:8
And God is able to make all grace abound to you so that having all
sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

We affirm the following:

The Grace of God in justification is an unconditional free gift.

The sole means of receiving the free gift of eternal life is faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of
God, whose substitutionary death on the cross fully satisfied the requirement for our
justification.

Faith is a personal response, apart from our works, whereby we are persuaded that the finished
work of Jesus Christ

His death and resurrection has delivered us from condemnation and
guaranteed our eternal life.

Christ has delivered us from condemnation and guaranteed our eternal life.

Justification is the act of God to declare us righteous when we believe in Jesus Christ alone.

Assurance of justification is the birthright of every believer from the moment of faith in Jesus
Christ, and is founded upon the testimony of God in His written Word.

Spiritual growth, which is distinct from justification, is God’s expectation for every believer; this
growth, however, is
not necessarily manifested uniformly in every believer.

The Gospel of Grace should always be presented with such clarity and simplicity that no
impression is left that justification requires any step, response, or action in addition to faith in

the Lord Jesus Christ.

I see nothing here that states the following

  • 1 : lacking legal or moral restraints; especially : disregarding sexual restraints licentious behavior licentious revelers
  • 2 : marked by disregard for strict rules of correctness

Definition of licentious
Marriam Webster Dictionary
Well, a cursory glance at that and their doctrine is the norm. But that said there is nothing there about the walk of the believer post conversion, so what you were looking for wasn't even addressed.

That said, there is nothing to conclude and say :they don't teach that." But this isn't Grace Evangelical Societies take either, and its take is different.

It s also in context of what we are discussing, if we are discussing with a person who thinks he or she is worthy based on how good the are, we need to explain to them, we are only worthy in Christ, worthy enough to him he died for us, but on our own, apart from Christ, we are unworthy, bcause we still fall short of Gods glory.
Hi EG

When ministering in the Spirit...speaking like in Revelations, I was in the Spirit on the Lords day, one is full. You will do things and say things by His power and as if it's the most natural thing, but is supernatural. Not sure if anyone can understand except by the experience.

For one to think on a regular basis that we are just poor sinners saved by grace, we are denying His Word that we are no longer flesh but Spirit, and denying the power to transform.

Initially, we aren't worthy of anything, true; only by His declaration that He makes us worthy. But, making us worthy is positional just like righteousness, yet worked out by Holy Spirit in our life's experience.

So that at the end of our life or the end of all time, we want to hear Him declare over us...

Rev 3:4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

Rev 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Rev 3:6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

This is what Meggido is talking about.

This is not a salvation issue but rewards.

Hi E-grateful, I read your introduction to the faith from start to finish and I see a good healthy start to new babes in Christ. What stands out in my mind are the people who come along later in the new believers life and try to force feed them on a doctrine of faith plus works; we are save unto good works not by them.

Your legalism 101 is correct; the first thing that happens when you get caught up in legalistic doctrine is, your Joy in the Lord goes away. Abel's sacrifice was acceptable to God, but Cain's works righteousness was not; and he went away very angry."

"And Abel also brought an offering--fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering." Genesis2:3

"but for Cain and for his offering He had no regard. So Cain became very angry and his countenance fell." Genesis2:5

Our Pastor from the first Church where I was born again and baptized, warned new believer's; that if later you get caught up in a legalistic Church, run for the door don't walk. And if you say; but they were so loving, run for the door faster. And I have never forgotten his word's to this day.

It is so important to warn new believers of the trappings of legalism; they may offer you a more "deep relationship", with Jesus; or I can take you into a deeper meaning of the bible;

9) "For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, 10) and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority; Colossians2:9,10

It is so important for new and seasoned Christians to know they are complete In Christ. Thank you for offering this valuable message.

I agree with this - except for the sheep part huddled together in a storm and the sons commanding it to be gone. We can both be at the same time a sheep and a son/daughter commanding the desires of the Lord to be done in situations.

The sheep will be with the Lord at the end of the age. I think you are confusing analogies of us being His sheep with son-ship. I do agree with the need for us to grow in the awareness of our son-ship. All of creation is waiting for this manifestation to happen.

Have a great day!

Its happening now Grace777...

We have thought in the past that this will be an event where the army comes together at one time. Some have penetrated the heavenly realm and are manifesting Sonship now but not as completed. In the supernatural, then normal life.

We should be in training.

even true churches can become legalistic, It is always a temptation, because it feeds our flesh. It is satan's greatest tool to tear down a child of God.

I was never talking pre-conversion...I also stated that numerous times, yet you refuse to heed it...this means you are out to search and destroy....
