Like, I'm really supposed to take the holster off, holster the firearm, and put the holster back on each time I draw it? What if I'm just practicing drawing again and again? Suffice it to say -- no matter where on the body the holster is designed to be "worn" - it makes sense that it should stay in place while the firearm can be both drawn from the holster and returned to the holster with ease. Especially drawn, of course. But, returned also - without difficulty.

I sincerely hope you can find something that works for you.

Have you seen the concealed carry purses?

My wife has one, but she doesn't carry or even shoot. But she really liked the purse....
 
I'm still partial to revolvers as it takes a very intentional action to fire it, lowers the
chance if an unintentional discharge.

I like pistols because you get more than five rounds and they are easier to conceal, less printing than a revolver.

The chance of accidental discharge is pretty remote if you treat it like a loaded gun.

The grip is better too.
 
i'm old enough that grubbing around in the dirt to get my brass isn't going to happen, I would rather
open the cylinder and drop them in my hand then into a pouch for reloading.
I don't anticipate needing more than 5 rounds, nearly all hand gun shots are within 25 feet.
 
How about hiding them in your sleeves... :rolleyes:

I've seen them. I really hesitate to do that since I'm not always in bodily contact with my purse. I often set it down because...honestly if someone stole my purse they would be mightily disappointed since I don't even have my id in it. But if I had a gun in it, I suppose I could change my habits.
 
A lot of it would depend on what firearm you are carrying. I have a Taurus TCP .380 that holds 6 rounds, and has a long trigger pull, like a double action revolver. Every trigger pull is the same.

I use a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster that "grips" the inside of the pocket, so all you do is put your hand in your pocket, grip the gun, and pull it out... the holster stays in the pocket.

With a little practice, I can put my hand in my pocket, pull the TCP, and put a round on target in just under 2 seconds. By on target, I mean center forehead at 3 yards. If all I was going for was center mass, I could likely shave a half second or maybe more off my time.

I got this specifically for summer carry, when I normally wear shorts. The Nemesis doesn't work well out of snug pants, like jeans, or tight slacks.... the pocket has to be a little baggy for it to work well/quickly.

The only "printing" you get makes it look like a very slim wallet in your pocket, if it's noticed at all.
 
The Nemesis is a great value holster. I originally got it for initial use of my PPS... but it's still there.

A very no-frills holster. That grip texture will keep it secure on a tight enough belt too.

Has anyone seen the Taurus Spectrum 380? It may be one of the coolest looking handguns ever. Lots of colors to choose from.

I just looked at pics of them.... not a bad looking little pistol. It looks like a "melted" version of the TCP. The trigger is slightly different, and it holds one more round, I think.

All in all, it's a pretty slick looking pistol. I hope Taurus solved the problem with a cartridge hitting the slide lock occasionally, locking the slide back before the mag is empty. I had to tweak the little lock lever to try to make it as goof-proof as possible.

Mine is just about 100% now... I haven't had a slide lock issue in the past 3 or 4 times I've had it at the range. I used to get them about once every 3 or 4 magazines or so.

I just might have to get one, and pass the TCP on to my wife.... although, she prefers a snub revolver.

I don't think she's quite forgiven me for blowing hers up.....:(
