I see NO contradiction. And Peter, Paul, and James were lead by the Spirit of God. Not simply, "Students". The Spirit of God wrote Scripture through them.

What happens is that people say "you are against the words of Jesus" or you put Paul above Jesus - which both are complete foolishness.

What is happening is that some are "interpreting Jesus' words" through their own Old Covenant lens "of doing in order to get" and thus think Paul, James and Jesus are not saying the same thing.

So, if your interpretation is different from theirs - then you are refusing the testimony of Jesus and not "obeying His commandments" and "you don't believe" - and other such religious nonsense.

According to the High Priest there is work to be done.. so ignore the title of this thread and adhere to your Master.

The gift is Everlasting life rewarded based on your works.
so you preach a gift is based on a reward? How can you not understand trying to mix a gift and reward is like trying to mix oil and water, they can't mix! (See also romans 4)

everything you said past this explains what a true believer receives, but unless you have the gift of eternal life, which is by grace alone, your good works will be useless,

have you studied the the difference between adoption as sons, and Christian growth, unless god gave you the right t be his child by faith Christian growth is non existent,

Blessed are they that do His Commandments indeed because they are given the right to the Tree of life.

Revelation 22

2And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
14Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
16I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

Nothing written goes against this.. it is merely the understanding of those without good foundation that can not recieve the above....

Brothers and Sisters... believe the Messiah... let these not hinder you with falsehood..

Our works will be out of His life as we live in communion with Him here on earth. Still of Him for they are of Spirit, and not of our own human nature.

He gets all the glory, He gets all the praise. We will only be worthy because He makes us worthy. Praise Jesus! Not man.

Exactly. Good works are a manifestation of His life bearing fruit in and through us the branches. The branch does not make itself the Vine.

Works-based false gospels always put the cart before the horse and mis-interpret Jesus' words through their "Old Covenant " mindset belief system - which is "you need to work or do things in order to either achieve or maintain salvation."

We are saved by grace through faith in Christ alone. His life in us then produces the fruit of good works that have been birthed from Him.

Get this backwards and we create a religion that uses the terms "Jesus, word of God, Spirit of God, testimony of Jesus and other words from scripture...etc." Although we use these terms - we are mis-applying those terms and actually perverting the gospel of the grace of God in Christ.

If we don't filter all scripture through the lens of Christ's finished work on the cross and resurrection - we will create our own religion of "doing in order to achieve or maintain salvation."

It is an anti-Christ belief system that actually nullifies the very grace of Christ needed in this life in order to bring the grace and love of our loving Father and Lord to others.
Oh stop already.

You love to copy and paste.
I have one for you.
Oh. And you never answered me.
Does that mean I'm on ignore? Like in kindergarten?
Sure. You can't deal with me.
Good. You know you're wrong.

Galatians 6:9-10

Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.

Matthew 5:38-48

"You have heard that it was said, 'AN EYE FOR AN EYE, AND A TOOTH FOR A TOOTH.' "But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. "If anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, let him have your coat also.

Luke 6:27-36

"But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. "Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also; and whoever takes away your coat, do not withhold your shirt from him either.

1 Peter 3:8-13

To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit; not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing. For, "THE ONE WHO DESIRES LIFE, TO LOVE AND SEE GOOD DAYS, MUST KEEP HIS TONGUE FROM EVIL AND HIS LIPS FROM SPEAKING DECEIT.

Psalm 34:12-16

Who is the man who desires life And loves length of days that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil And your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.

Hebrews 13:16

And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

1 Peter 2:20

For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God.

1 Peter 3:17

For it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong.

John 5:28-29

"Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice, and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.

Luke 6:35

"But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men.

Romans 2:5-11

But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, who WILL RENDER TO EACH PERSON ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS: to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life;

1 Timothy 6:17-19

Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy. Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed.

2 Timothy 2:20-21

Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also vessels of wood and of earthenware, and some to honor and some to dishonor. Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.

James 2:14-21

What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and be filled," and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?

James 3:13

Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.

2 Corinthians 9:8

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed;

Acts 9:36

Now in Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which translated in Greek is called Dorcas); this woman was abounding with deeds of kindness and charity which she continually did.

Philippians 2:12-13

So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

Colossians 1:10-12

so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.

Ephesians 2:10

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

2 Timothy 2:21

Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

1 Peter 2:13-15

Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority, or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right. For such is the will of God that by doing right you may silence the ignorance

Stone,
loveme1 is MORE I LOVE with our Lord than some here.
Know why?

She's actually willing TO DO things for Him.
Some here tell me ALL WE NEED TO DO IS BELIEVE.

Believe what?
Did you know that believe is an ACTION word?

Go look it up in the Greek.
You like Greek.

Oh, and don't forget to do the counting on Salvation and Kingdom in Jesus' discourses.

Thanks.
believe in the greek is the word pisteuo, which means -to think to be true, to be persuaded of , to credit, to place confidence in.

not about doing works. so, mrs. question lady, what source did you use to find that believe is action word, other than a mental one,

and yes, believers should do good works.

About Judas not being a Christian? It's widely believed he stole money, He is called Son of Destruction, not a Son of God, he died with Jesus still alive, but didn't come back to Jesus like Peter did. Jesus said he wasn't clean. The word of the Lord cleans us. Judas said he betrayed innocent blood, but he didn't say I betrayed my Lord. Jesus said He lost none of those given to Him.

Due to these factors, I can say Judas followed Jesus, but I can't say he made him Lord. And finally even if he did, Holy Spirit wasn't given yet. Jesus said He had to go first. And believers now are SEALED by Him as our guarantee.

i hope this helps explain my thoughts. Feel free to ask anything else.
Been kind of busy so only read from this post to my current one.

Wanted to add bible verses to show that Judas was a thief.

John 12 ►
English Standard Version
Mary Anoints Jesus at Bethany

1Six days before the Passover, Jesus therefore came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. 2So they gave a dinner for him there. Martha served, and Lazarus was one of those reclining with him at table. 3Mary therefore took a pounda of expensive ointment made from pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. 4But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples (he who was about to betray him), said, 5“Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denariib and given to the poor?” 6He said this, not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief, and having charge of the moneybag he used to help himself to what was put into it. 7Jesus said, “Leave her alone, so that she may keep itc for the day of my burial. 8For the poor you always have with you, but you do not always have me.”
Hope everyone has a blessed day, back to cleaning and my many projects,

I certainly hope that you realize that your above scripture happened the week that Jesus was crucified.

Does that make any difference to you at all?
I guess not.

weeping at her Masters feet having been forgiven of much.. indeed.

Here is something warming:

Luke 7

40And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on. 41There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty. 42And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most? 43Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged. 44And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head. 45Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet. 46My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment. 47Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little. 48And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven. 49And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also? 50And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

The dynamic behind the way we are actually transformed is by beholding the glory/goodness of the Lord as in a mirror and the Holy Spirit transforms us as we behold Christ and us in Him as one in union with Him forever. 2 Cor. 3:17-18

When we talk about transformation or the way that Christ is manifested in our life or the way we bear fruit or good works - it is really a reference to the outward manifestation of what is already true inwardly - in the new creation in Christ - the new man of the heart - cleansed, righteous and holy and in union with Christ as one spirit forever. 1 Cor. 6:17

Christ being manifested through us is the fruit of a tree that already exists within us.

I firmly believe that if we feed Christians the nutrients of the love and grace of God in Christ's finished work for us - we will walk in the good works that God has already prepared for us to walk in. Eph. 2:10

Good works do not produce life or salvation nor do they keep us saved. That is an anti-Christ belief system that nullifies the very grace of God needed for us to operate in this life by the spirit and not walk after the flesh.

Christ alone is our Savior. Through His blood we have redemption - the forgiveness of sins. Good works are simply the fruit of Him being manifested as we rely on Him alone.

It will be the Lord Himself working in and through us to show the love and grace our Father and loving Lord has for others in the world as well as our brethren that are now in Christ with us.

Let's feed Christians the love and grace of our loving Father and they will grow and in this growing - the fruit of His life will manifest and the good works that are manifested will be birthed from Him. These will be the gold, silver and precious gems that are created.

Yes He gave you work to do, you do it out of love and out of your freedom. Not to earn your salvation. Not to be saved, but because you ARE saved.
Rev 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
Rev 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Rev 3:2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
Rev 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

If a person that is saved will do works, and it is not to keep them right for salvation, but because they are saved, then why did those that were saved lacking in works, and were fallen in that state, and Jesus told them to repent, and another their works were not found right before God,and to repent,or else Jesus would go against them.

People need to harmonize scriptures, and work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, because if you fall short by your outward actions, and thoughts, then your connection with God has been broken, unless you repent, but some people hold unto sin the entire time, and think they are right with God,and outward actions, and thoughts, does not change that.

Some people will not harmonize scriptures because there is a certain way that they like to hear the Bible.

Grace,

PLEASE do what I asked Stone to do.

Not willing, huh?

You know better.

Jesus came here to advise us of what our duties are if we're to REMAIN in the Kingdom.

Uncomforatable, insn't it?

Where did you learn this nonsense anyway?

You certainly are not reading or understanding the bible that was gathered together way back when.

And BTW, the early Chistians WHO KNEW THE APOSTLES don't agree with your hyper grace ad easy believism either.

I've posted them many times, but YOU prefer to believe the lies you've been told by those characters on youtube.

A great way to learn theology, BTW.

Ignore what JESUS SAID.
Listen to those MEN instead.

We "get to do good works and we are participating in the family business of telling and showing others of the love and grace our loving Father and Lord have for them" because His life is in us now - but they are not for salvation nor for maintaining being saved.

That's an anti-Christ belief system that is simply a works-based self-righteousness belief system that denies the very work of Christ.

An example of "good works" are when we encourage people to actually believe what Jesus has said and what He has already done. It is a good work to encourage Christians to believe that He alone has obtained eternal redemption for us. Heb. 9:12

Right believing in Christ's finished work on the cross and resurrection and that we too have died with Him and rose to newness of life - will bring right thinking ( repentance ) which will manifest in His life being seen in our lives outwardly as His fruit is borne on us the branches.

This is what produces real godliness based on Christ alone by grace through faith.

As
we have received Christ - so we walk in Him. Col. 2:6-8

This is all done by grace through faith alone in Christ and what He has already done on the cross and resurrection.

Without Him - we can do nothing.

It is a "good work" to encourage people to trust that He who has begun a good work in you will perfect it. (Phil. 1:6)

It is a "good work" to encourage Christians to believe that we are new creations in Christ ( 2 Cor. 5:17 )

It is a "good work" to encourage Christians that Christ alone is our wisdom, our righteousness and our sanctification and our redemption. ( 1 Cor. 1:30 )

It is a "good work" to encourage Christians to believe that we are saved by grace through faith alone in Christ's work on the cross and resurrection and no amount of good works can save us nor "keep us saved". Christ alone is the Savior of the world - especially of believers. ( Eph. 2:8-19 & 1 Tim. 4:10 )

It is a "good work" to encourage Christians that we will walk in the good works that God has already prepare for us to walk in as His life becomes manifested in and through us to reveal the love and grace of our loving Father and our Lord has for others. ( Eph. 2:10 & Phil. 2:13 )

It is a "good work" for us to encourage Christians that we are safe in the hands of the Lord and we who truly believe have been sealed by the Holy Spirit and He will be in us forever - just like Jesus said. ( Eph. 1:13, 4:20 & John 14:16 )

It is also a "good work" to remind Christians that there is a warning for not relying on the life of Christ in us for life and living while on this earth.

All the works of the flesh will bring destruction in this life of some sort - whether living the homosexual lifestyle or the exhibiting of malice, outbursts of anger, deceitfulness or the slandering of others in the body of Christ.

Fail to rely on the grace of God that is only in Christ's finished work and trying to do things in our own flesh will not get us to experience the life of Christ that is in our inner man of the heart where Christ dwells and where we are in the kingdom of God.

The warning scriptures are needed and to be heeded - once the proper foundation of Christ and His finished work are firmly established in the hearts and minds of us Christians. From there - then the warning scriptures will have their proper place.

But the firm foundation is Christ Himself and you can no more lose the redemption that is in Christ then Daffy Duck and Donald Duck are the 2 witnesses in the book of Revelation.

We are beloved children of our loving Father and He will not throw His beloved children into hell and the lake of fire because they don't do enough "good works".

Where there is "security" - there are the nutrients for "maturity". Let's believe what Christ has said and what He has already done for us and grow in the grace and knowledge of Him.

Eternal life is from the blood sacrifice alone which is precious in Fathers sight. He Himself poured His own blood on the mercy seat in heaven before Father that we might be able to come into His presence now boldly for flesh will not survive the glory of God. We would perish without blood on the mercy seat.

This is the truth of the gospel message. His work alone!
You haven't done your assignment I see.

ARE YOU GOING TO DO IT???

Maybe not.

You might find out how WRONG you are.
