well most gentiles do not understand the law really in its entirety...but they still can understand grace

way too many on here have not laid the foundation they think they have

if you don't understand the law, you really do not understand BIBLICAL grace

we are not saved by being good and we do not stay saved by being good (only God is good anyway)

actually, in HIS goodness, he has given His Spirit to each believer to produce the character of the One who died for the sin of the world

yet all are not saved as universalists (even the hidden ones in this thread..well they think they are hidden and do not intend to self identify because then they would have to explain that one and they know most won't agree so they stay 'hidden')

don't you see what appears to be a contradiction there? some solve it be becoming a universalist, others say it's because God choose who is saved or not saved, others pass it over because they don't want to even think about it, others go OUTSIDE of scripture to supply an answer and deceive themselves and the others

there is no contradiction when you apply scripture to scripture

God is not the author of confusion!

I agree.

Matthew 24 is Jesus talking about the destruction of Jerusalem that was coming in 70 AD.

Context is king in all scripture - plus we must read it through the revealed finished work of Christ or we end up mixing up the Old Covenant with the New Covenant and we water them both down.

I'm tired Grace.
But this is easy..

Context..

Mathew 24:13

Jesus was teaching His disciples about the end times.
Or was He teaching about the destruction of Jerusalem...
I could be both. He was teaching about Jerusalem 70 AD
AND the end of times.

Why?

Mathew 24:3
His disciples asked Jesus, privately, WHEN will be the sign of Your coming? and at the END OF THE AGE.

So. Was Jesus supposed to come back at the destruction of Jerusalem, OR at the end of the the world?
The "end of the age" could arguabley mean till 70 AD.

BUT, Jesus' coming back is DEFINITELY at the end of the world.

-----that takes care of the Jerusalem 70 AD problem-----

Mathew 24:4-8 are accepted as referring to the end of the world. This is repeated over and over again---"wars and rumors of wars" --- no one can deny that this refers to the end of the world.

Mathew 24:10
"At that time, many will fall away..."
FALL AWAY MEANS FALL AWAY, LEAVE, DEPART, NO LONGER BELONG TO...

and many false prophets will arise and lead many astray, they will MISLEAD them, as is happening, in fact.

NOW THIS IS FOR EVERYONE HERE RIGHT NOW.....

Mathew 24:12
"And because LAWLESSNESS is increased, most people's love will grow cold...

Mathew 24:13
"BUT THE ONE WHO ENDURES TILL THE END, HE SHALL BE SAVED."

Mathew 24:14
"And the gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in the Whole world for a witness to ALL NATIONS, and then THE END WILL COME."

Was the gospel preached to all nations in 70 AD? No.

Were the persons alive when Jesus was speaking still going to be alive in 70 AD? Maybe. Maybe not.

What must people endure?

That their LOVE not GROW COLD.

If a person's love grows cold, NO MATTER WHEN, he has NOT ENDURED TILL THE END.

The scenario was for 70 AD AND the end of the world.

The endurance of the person is for EVERYONE OF ANY AGE AND FOR ALL TIME.

Jesus was NOT just speaking about Jerusalem 70 AD.

This is used by those who wish to show that endurance is not necessary.
There are other verses but I must leave now.

ENDURE MEANS TO ENDURE.

I feel like I just wrote to Sevenseas about how words don't really mean what they mean. Strange.

Nice to understand only Grace.
Problem is, and I've said it many times...
God is LOVE but
God is also JUST.

If you don't understand the Law and what it means to be UNDER THE LAW,
how could you possibly understand Grace?

Does anybody really understand Grace anyway? I doubt it.

What does it mean to be under the Law UG?
Do you think anybody on this thread is UNDER THE LAW?

if context is king, why, repent (do you say repent in some of your posts).. for the law condems, when a saviour saved
you, from condemnation of law. so having the wrong foundations, cannot be in line with context to scripture. etc

when ask, when did you, conquer death, when did god lead you, into the desert. etc

if death is conquered , then why dose it need, to be conquered again, if you believe the saviour saved you, when did, he say, we will join him. etc

yes, Jesus is Lord

but He is not forcing anyone until the end when EVERY knee will bow and EVERY tongue confess that He is, in fact, Lord

otherwise? what part do we play?
Is there a part your children play sister to BE YOUR children? Or are they YOUR children by birth?

No EG.

MMD has stated many times that HE BELIEVES IN OSAS.

I'm very careful when I listen to people.
I'm very careful about what I post.
OSAS was not the issue,

You said baptist, And then made assumptions..which is what I said would happen

I once met a Mormon who had received the Holy Spirit. I was so shocked I couldn't even gather my wits. I kept wondering HOW it was possible when they believe so many wrong things! I think that was the very exact moment that I realized that one must not have perfect understanding or perfect doctrine/systematic theology in order to be saved. And it makes "come out of her my people" make perfect sense.
how do you know they received the HS?

So not everyone is TRULY saved?

How do we know the difference?

You know that Cliff we jumped off...

Your chute ain't workin' !!
" we " do not need to know. only a person and the Lord know who truly believes and one who is faking it. it is not our place to judge, it is our place to speak the truth. and then others will do with what they will.

When the whole world heard the gospel and walks with the Holy spirit or gets tossed in hell.

Why would we want to move past the simplicity found in Christ?

Why should we NOT preach the gospel or Christianity 101?

Once people are saved, doesn't the Holy spirit teach them more? Doesn't God draw them?

If they aren't being taught to live godly lives and are not chastened for their sins and do not draw closer to God....then should we NOT check their understanding of the basics and make sure they have ALL the gospel and not just half?

Many just preach the cross without the ressurection and walking with the Holy spirit....this leads to a dead faith without fruit or good works.

Others preach only of walking in obedience to God's laws without the cross or the Holy spirit, this leads to legalism and works based salvation.

The Gospel is that Jesus died for our sins and rose again on the third day. He ascended to heaven and sends the Holy spirit that allows us to be called children of God. we are to die to our old selves and be born again by following the Holy spirit.

Take any of that out and you get half the gospel that leads to deception and false doctrines.

As paul said, out of all his messages, he only wanted on thing as the most important. Christ and him crucified.

Get the meaning of his crucifixion wrong, and nothing else paul says matters.

LOL!

so Gentiles only carry a concealed New Testament?

LOL! again

if Jesus explained salvation FROM the law and so does Paul, I'm thinking some folks is just plain neglecting their studies

if you think quote unquote Gentiles understand grace, then you have been hiding under a rock in these forums and just came up for air

ps: I'm joking but awful serious and I am not making fun of you

I've said this before...

It's OK to use humans to make people understand God a little when they're new in the faith.

BUT LET'S STOP MAKING GOD OUT TO BE A HUMAN PERSON.

He's GOD.

YOU don't have a contract with God, you have a COVENANT with him.
You say you understand covenants, so what say you start to act like it.

God will demand much more of us since we're under a Covenant than if we were under contract to Him.

HE DEMANDS MORE from a son.
NOT LESS.

We need to stop comparing God to a human father is a realistic way.

Even a human father will not give an inheritance to a son who is mean and not respecting of his parents, and mistreats them, and abandons them. Why should they leave him an inheritance? Would you? Why would your son DESERVE one?

Oh. Excuse me. I used the word deserve. Does God NOT deserve our love?
Are we NOT to love Him till the end?

This son idea has to disappear.

Even the parable of the Prodigal Son gets all twisted out of shape to make it fit OSAS doctrine.
THAT IS NOT WHAT THE PARABLE IS ABOUT.

The son was LOST and returned to the Father.
PLAIN AS DAY.
But not for everyone...

Funny.
Try studying some history.
Not EVERYTHING is in the bible.
I have, And history has been proven in the past to be not reliable. Those in charge write history, who was in charge?

and yes, Everything that can be trusted is in the bible. (it is the only religable source and th eonly thing God will hold you accountable to.

If it does not line up with the bible. then it is of men, not God.

The catholic church looks nothing like the NT church, plain and simple. Study the bible. not the words of men.

I agree!!!

So why do OSAS believers Always say that if a person falls away it means they were never saved to begin with?

Isn't THIS judging?

The day natural children are born by faith in their natural parents forgiveness then you'll have an argument.

You people stretch this child/ adopted child analogy too far. Since you do that, and it seems okay with you, perhaps you should start teaching how since natural children born to their parents eventually grow up and away from their parents that spiritual children do the same thing, too, and don't need to depend on God anymore but can take care of themselves--you know, grow up into a 'works' gospel of their own.
