I have had a number of repetitive stress injuries associated with my job and also all the time I spend on my computer... carpel tunnel syndrome is something one of my co-workers allowed herself to go under a surgeon's knife for  Yikes, that is so not my style LOL. I wore magnets and took vitamin B6 and it eventually went away when my habits and work load changed. It was so bad at times that I was not able to ride a bicycle or pick up a glass of water or carry groceries etc (actually the glass of water example was tennis elbow even though at the same time I could lift a fully loaded forty three pound paper magazine). I used to wake up with one arm fully numb/asleep from the shoulder down, and painfully tingling to have the circulation properly restored. Sometimes when I am driving I have to shake my right hand out, still. I avoid participating in anything that I know will injure me or exacerbate the situation. No arm wresting for me haha.

Maybe what we're all really in need of now days is a little UN-social media...
I don't blame social media. I welcome people's opinions and arguments as long as they want to stick to real issues and aren't just bent on trying to show me how horrible they think the politician I support's personality is...

Oh Magenta, that's exactly what I went through. I would wake up with numb fingers and painful nerves in my arm and it would bother me all day long. Sometimes it was so bad I couldn't even touch a doorknob to open it. Touching it would bring me to tears. Luckily it was only that bad a few times. I will pray for your healing.

Thank you... Heh, hey Seoulful, who were you planning to arm wrestle?

Oh yes, my wrists especially are fine now, do you know (of course you don't, but I will tell you :D) I used to sort through probably over a million pictures a year in my job :D I checked every single photograph for color quality and also dust spots, especially when it was printing by film. Going through the prints to sort into each person's order was much like dealing cards, and that many every day, day after day, is why I originally suffered the effects of carpel tunnel damage, which is really just the swelling of the tendons pinching the nerves as they pass through a small bone opening in your wrist... Digital decimated my work load! After more than forty years I am grateful not to have to do so much at work every day :)

What might you do now instead of arm wrestling?
:confused::cool:

Mine was a bit different. It was because of pinched nerves in my neck, but it radiated pain through my arm and made some of my fingers go numb. Sometimes the whole hand, but that was rare. Mine started because I used to have a job where I would tie off bales of cardboard with wire. :(

Thank you Gabe, and I am so glad you do not suffer that kind of pain on a regular basis. Sometimes I will awake and half of my hand will be numb LOL, or it numbs out a bit while I am driving. But generally speaking it passes fairly quickly, and most of the time I am free of carpel tunnel pain or tennis elbow (which was caused by computer work, for I do not play tennis :p). B6 is supposed to help with swelling, which is why I used that. Maybe lilbit can try that? Vitamin B should be taken as a complete complex, but adding extra 6 would be fine :)

Yea with me it would come and go too. Some days were worse than others and I learned how to manipulate my arm and fingers to alleviate it but it didn't always help.

Holy Shamoly. No wonder you come up with such cool memes that have all sorts of nifty bling. :D

With all this talk about injuries to the wrists and hands... I think I'm going to have to cancel this weekend's arm-wrestling tournament and choose an activity that's a little more less strenuous.

I'll admit, operating the remote and tearing open a bag of chip might be pushing a few boundaries (I might even be daring and pop open a can of Pringles! :p) , but I shall press on! ;)

(Seriously... I hope you, Gabe, and everyone else suffering from such injuries are feeling better and getting the right treatments.)

Ouch, what a pain in the neck! I know what that is like, too, for I had a rib twisted out of my spine in my original back injury, that contributed later to neck problems, especially after being whip lashed. One of those incidents, the doctor proclaimed my skull still "boggy" quite a few days later but never bothered to tell me that I may have suffered a concussion. Ugh I hate the level of incompetence in our medical practitioners. That week I made so many mistakes at work, the sort of thing that I never would have done under normal circumstances, and quite co-incidentally picked up a magazine that had an article on concussion and that was when I realized, a full week later, what was wrong with me. I got 9k from ICBC for that one :p

I feel you Gabe. I love my President. I would openly bash his haters for being unreal, I'd swear their arguments are without sense whatsoever and they only bash for the sole purpose of bringing him down (or irritating his supporters). But, in this rather public world, we never know who's watching. I may be a little paranoid but whenever I want to post something about politics on Facebook or my blog, I always remember that there are worse paranoids out there who'd kill or destroy people's lives (and the people they love) for very stupid reasons (such as, but not limited to, openly supporting a politician).

Yeah, well that just escalated quickly. Anyway, yeah, some people really just can't contain their toxins. Must avoid them, if at all, possible.

Thanks, Abi. Yea, I try to be impartial and fair in my judgment of politicians (or anybody), but its apparently very difficult for many to not be biased. The problem with being biased is that a person can no longer be fair and impartial when they're biased. Everything becomes about "how can I make the other person look bad". Instead of acknowlegding that you made a valid point they will deflect by bringing up something else that's not directly related to the subject they were talking about just so they can try to corner you into saying they are right and you are wrong, while they completely ignored the valid point that you made. Only their points are what matter to them!! Well they can all go jump off a cliff!! :p :D

Boring topic I was reading last night, 'Introduction to Underwriting'. Sad part is there's more topics that are worse. Why didn't I pick a different profession? :(

Does anyone else feel extremely uncomfortable with the shorts girls wear nowadays? It's just that everywhere I go there are women showing their bottoms because their shorts are too short. It's pretty gross to me. I can't imagine how Christian guys must feel when they're trying to think pure thoughts.

Yeah, I think short shorts are disgusting, be they worn by girl or guys
