Probably "Let the Hurricane Roar" by Rose Wilder Lane. It wasn't REALLY good, but it was good and very enjoyable. It did, however, shamelessly borrow from Laura Ingalls Wilder's works (at that time unpublished).
Have you ever read a book that you loved as a kid, and then reread it as an adult and discovered it wasn't such a much? If so, what book?

I've actually read many books I enjoyed as a child and thought they were not really good as an adult. I must have checked out every Nancy Drew book in the library as a child. I tried rereading one as an adult and could not stomach it, the writing was so poor. Some get better though, and I got more out of reading as an adult than as a child, like Alice in Wonderland and Winnie the Pooh. Books like these are literature as opposed to just light reading, like a Nancy Drew.
