Please don't take this as me being critical or what not..... but if a person wants to keep the sabbath, they must keep all the laws of the sabbath. Anything less would be hypocritical to say "I'm keeping God's sabbath", while you're only keeping the seventh day sabbath.
First of all, as you know, there was not only the "seventh day" Sabbath, but the first and last days of the seven Old Testament feasts were special Sabbaths, to be observed just as a seventh day Sabbath. (See Exodus 12:1-6; and 14-16 and Leviticus 23:1-8).
So, there were at least 64 "Sabbaths" in each calendar year. Many weeks had multiple "Sabbaths", one a seventh day Sabbath, the other a "Holy Convocation", the first or last day of a feast. Often, there were Sabbath days back to back - two days in a row. And. probably just as often, a Feast day Sabbath occurred the same day as the seventh day Sabbath.

Hi Grandpa,
Thanks again for your post. Love the scriptures you sent. They are in harmony with everything I believe in. I believe God's Word, how about you? The thing is I do not have any problems with the scriptures you send me. You are only having problems with the scriptures I send you. This is because of the interpretation you have on what the Word of God says. The Old Testament is in Harmony with the New. They witness to each other. If you have nothing else to add maybe you need to read your bible further to see why certain scriptures in the Word of God seem to be against what you believe.
May God help you my friend
Are you trained in irony? Or is it purely an SDA trait?
None of the above. It is the Word of God. It testifies of sin, righteousness and the judgement to come.....
"Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters."
"Seek ye the Lord while He may be found (today if you hear His voice harden not your heart there will be a time when you will not find him..) call ye upon him while he is near; Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon."
Which scriptures do you suppose are against what I believe?
All the ones sent to you that you did not believe regarding love, faith, obedience, God's Law, the 7th Day Sabbath, annual ceremonial Sabbath that were nailed to the cross, the New Covenant in the Old and New Testament and the testimony of others.
None of those Scriptures teach keeping the Sabbath...O dearly loved of Messiah you must know. I do not hide nor am I ashamed to confess that I guard Sabbath in my heart, keep it when I can, even though I don't practice perfect every Sabbath, it is still a perfect Sabbath day in my Master. You who says, "you have made the law your Master!" does your exclamation come because you are worried about my soul? If so why do you distance yourself further from my words. They are my words unless I'm quoting my Master or scriptures.
It was said, "never ever has been taught Sabbath by the Apostles in NT".
I could give more examples of when Sabbath day was taught on, as is the traditional way to celebrate the Sabbath day together. You see THEY even the Greeks among them had no need to be taught Sabbath because they were already keeping it.
We are in need of the word on Sabbath. In fact we could all use the first day as well to hear that word. If I appear to be under the law it is for the benefit of the synagogue. If you want to meet I have no problem with that in order to show I'm just as messed up as any of you. I however serve a Holy God and as such He deserves to be treated with respect, Honor, and Love. And I hope you have love in your Hearts to Honor the Father in Heaven as it is Messiah who would have brought you close enough to have such an eternal and glorious honor to Love the creator of Heaven and Earth and know Them better. As for being under the law or not I confess Messiah and such awesome subject as the Torah you want me to make? Why would I cast pearls before this lot? I love you too much to have you trample on the Word as you have Sabbath. Sorry that sounded harsh in my head. Here more NT scripture study won't help unless you understand the literal meaning of the whole Instruction of God. Yes the Law is meant to point to Messiah. A need because we failed before we started? No because before you knew that law you didn't know it was wrong to not honor your Mother and Father. Without that Law you wouldn't know that to steal is wrong.
You hear me? We all know this from going to School or even from the mom and dad... So Glory to Messiah Yeshua that this righteous thing is still taught. When Father said that He looks over The Word, He wasn't kidding friends.
Sorry to get long winded
. I really want to talk to you about much more mature things
You are good for a laugh but not much else...Seems like you are running into all sorts of problems when you hold onto beliefs that follow man made traditions. Ariel will not answer my questions maybe you can?
...
That is no longer binding on New Covenant believers!Missing the point agian. The Sabbath is a day scripture says that clearly.
What it does not say is Jesus is the Sabbath day. It says that no where. That is mans teaching.
Do we have rest in Jesus? yes of course. But that has nothing to do with the Sabbath day.
This is what mind boggles me,
Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
God blessed a "day" you can deny it all you want and ignore it all you want but its right there in writing. He blessed and set aside as holy a "day".
not a feeling, not a principle, not a spiritual lesson but a "day".
The only problem with that is that Gen 2 is before the Old covenant. It was before sin even. That is no longer binding on New Covenant believers!
The rest of us are not haunted by Ellen White's ramblings...
The dispute is not with what Gen 2:1-2 ACTUALLY says it is with your interpretation of the text. The only problem with that is that Gen 2 is before the Old covenant. It was before sin even.
As far as Ellen white you mentioned. I believe that you will find the above written clearly in Gen chapter 2 of the Bible.
OkThe dispute is not with what Gen 2:1-2 ACTUALLY says it is with your interpretation of the text.
Sabbath observance was part of the Mosaic covenant - NEVER before.
There is no command to man to do anything!Ok
So here it is:
Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
That is all I quoted in the last post and that is all I am talking about.
So I said God blessed a day. You have a problem with that interpretation. I thought I was just saying what It said. So could you please show me where I have misinterpreted this text.
I did not say there was, Don't argue against a point I did not make. i simply said that God blessed a day. There is no command to man to do anything!
So, Sabbath observance is part of the Mosaic Covenant and is NOT binding on New Covenant believers!!!I did not say there was, Don't argue against a point I did not make. i simply said that God blessed a day.
Here is an idea, lets examine this new covenant and see first who is it to, and what exactly it says, many don't realize what this new covenant is or how it works, it confuses me that many think this new covenant makes the law null and void when no such thing is expressed or implied.
Lets try and focus. I quoted Gen 2 and was dealing with Gen 2. Not Exodus. So, Sabbath observance is part of the Mosaic Covenant and is NOT binding on New Covenant believers!!!
I am focused.Lets try and focus. I quoted Gen 2 and was dealing with Gen 2. Not Exodus.
So again did God bless and sanctify a day or not?
