Anyway this man here who turned 49 today and celebrated his birthday is soon off to bed.

Did I tell anyone today is my birthday? Don't think I did.

Hey everyone today is my birthday. Have I told you that already?

No need to sing happy birthday to me, no seriously you don't have to.

Ok if you insist.
I miss you Bill.
Why do things have to change?

Thanks. It's Always nice to hear a good word.

How else to get to the bottom of a question that has been going on for pages and pages.

Do you think YOU'VE solved it with the above post??
yup it seems to be a tactic of quite a few here stating everything is to do with one verse in the bible.. i call that denying .... and its most them who teach you can lose your salvation for not believing.....

I do believe and i do believe that i must believe in so many ways to..and not just one mind set that im saved im the done deal soo to speak... totaly bizzar....

It's obvious you didn't listen or couldn't hear what I am really saying. Just forget it. It's ok...:)

We don't take what are "descriptions" of the life of Christ being manifested in us and then "dictate" we are to do them. They are a product of our union with Christ.

I will say that the more we behold the glory/goodness of the Lord as in a mirror - the more His life will be manifested in us as the Holy Spirit transforms us. 2 Cor. 3:171-18

Transformation is really the emerging new man that is in Christ being manifested in our bodies while we are here on this earth.

This transformation of what already is in us in Christ in our new creation ( It is not called a "new evolution" ) can be seen by man as our minds get renewed to the truth of Christ's work for us. Rom. 12:2

We are simply "being" who we already are when we "put on Christ".

The new man in Christ is like the invisible man - when he put clothes on, people could then see him. We put on Christ and people see the new man in Christ manifested and God gets glorified. This is the "good works" that we get to participate in with our Lord.

This all happens by grace through faith in what Christ has done and we participate in it with Him for it is God who is at work in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure. He will be faithful to us. Phil. 2:13
Jesus dictated we are to do them.

I'm not going to post any verses.
You know the bible very well.

We end up with the same result.
So it's OK. I post more for those reading along...

Okay, can you tell me WHY you think our works gain us, or keeps us our salvation? :)

Blue,

Relax. Take it easy.

There's not much you need to make me understand.
Just trust me on this.

I just DON'T AGREE.

I wonder. Maybe the problem is not being direct enough.

We are to be like Jesus.

Either you believe this or not.
Paul believed it and wrote about it in Ephesians.

And this is the question, do you regard yourself too lost to believe you can grow into
the maturity of Christ. Jesus says it is not hard, you just need to believe and follow.
This has been my question. Is this what Paul is saying? Who disagrees and why?

Cop out city, is the people, and the accusations are it is a lie to believe Paul, it only
leads to legalism, so all is lawlessness.

Now this is the question. And the problem is, to believe it is evil means the book of
life becomes silent on this, because the words are too hard. But this is why it takes
faith and love, just to hear the good news. Sin conquered, life free.
So you want to be like God? That sounds eerily familiar. Genesis 3:5

Blue, I've repeated it so many times, I just can't anymore.

It's the difference between JUSTIFICATION and SANCTIFICATION.

It would take a Whole study. It can't be done here correctly.

Please look it up somehow. Even Google would be ok for this. But read some different links.

Here it is quick:

JUSTIFICATION is a work of God. Totally of God. We come to Him, repent and He, totally from grace, forgives us and welcomes us into His family. We are saved. Ephesians 2:8

SANCITIFICATION is a cooperative work between us and God. WE must also do our part to become more and more in line with how God would want us to be. This could be called works. GOD does NOT do this all by himself. It requires action on OUR part.

If God did EVERYTHING,, we'd be like little puppets that He just pushes around. He gave us free will. We are to exercise that free will and CONTINUE to behave as though we want to be saved. You said yourself that denying God can cause loss of salvation. This is true. We deny God also when we don't obey Him.

I'm not talking about SINNING. We sin every day. Forget about that. We're covered by the blood of our Lord.
I'm talking about BEING the way He would want us to be. Mathew 5, the beatitudes. And I'm talking about DOING the things He would want us to do, or continue to do the ones we're doing but with the right attitude, do them as to God (for God).

Jesus Himself said we are to follow his commandments. I've listed so many. In one post I listed about 15 verses.
I just gave Grace John 15:14. He even speaks about cutting off b ranches and burning them.

What I'm saying is that we do our works OUT OF LOVE. I agree. But they need to be done, NO MATTER WHAT.
It's a change of life, an internal change. Jesus demands this, He demands that we obey.

We're helped by the Holy Spirit to obey. GOD DOES NOT DO EVERYTHING FOR US, as if we were puppets.
Whether we feel this love or not, we still have to do what is right.

Works do not save us.
But they keep us saved.

Justification
Sanctification

baa thats wrong your being a univeralist again
Jimbo,
He means that we're to become more and more like Christ.
Christ is God, right.

Check out Mathew 5:48.
It's good to want to be like Jesus (God)
But we can't BE GOD. See?
