If it starts feeling warm and sore that is a sign of inflammation and you should have it checked, if it is just a bump,

Okay, I'm good at ignoring stuff. I took a couple Ibuprofen and that helped a little.

Sounds like its infected. Apply an antibiotic ointment like Neosporin on it for a few days. If it washes off, wipe it with some alcohol and re-apply the neosporin. That should take care of it. If not, you can go see your pharmacist and ask what he/she recommends. They will know if there's something you can buy over the counter of if you should see a doctor. They might be able to help you over the phone actually.

I've had a few IV's in the past after suffering from dehydration, one of those times severe and I almost went into a coma :( I only ever had a sore spot on my arm for around 2-3 days, which is normal. No lump though.

I remember years ago when I had to go through various medical tests in order to be approved for my US residency. I ended up needing to get my blood drawn twice, since it had to be checked over and approved by a specific doctor. The nurse was foreign and so rough, she literally just stabbed my arm with the needle and close to where I previously had blood drawn. My arm was bruised and sore for about a week :(

If you have a lump I would definitely get that checked out. It's possibly an infection? It could get worse, so best to deal with it sooner rather than later.

Ok, I have to clarify... if the skin is warm and you detect puss then its probably infected. If not, then its probably just healing pain. As the body heals a wound like that, it will cause some soreness and swelling. That's part of the repair process. Since you have small veins, it probably got beat up a lot by the needle. In any case, it doesn't hurt to put neosporin on it or any antibiotic ointment.

Yeah I'm thinking of having it checked tomorrow, it's really sore today, but my cat also jumped on that exact sore spot today and he's kind of a big butt so that could be why it hurts.

Remember to NOT take ibuprofen before having it check, it can sort of mask the results.
(Especially things like it feeling sore and warm)

PS: You have prescription free antibiotics over there??!! That's not good...

Just Neosporin and similar first aid ointments for cuts and scrapes. None that come in pill form.

Its just to keep open wounds from getting infected because they can come in contact with dirt. The types of antibiotics that cause superbugs are the ones that are prescribed in pill or liquid form. The reason they are prescribed is because they are very potent (strong).

Superbugs develop when people don't finish their prescribed regimen. They stop taking them early instead of finishing all the medication they were prescribed. That gives the bacteria a chance to overcome the antibiotic and develop an immunity to it. I was a certified pharmacy tech so I had to learn all that stuff.

Sleeping gets in the way of... many things. I do take a nap if I'm really tired, but usually if I need a nap I just do a power cycle. Close my eyes, increase respiration and rest for a minute or seven.

(Seriously people do some strange things with medicine ... I once saw someone snort asthma meds :S )

Ointments can't be ingested. It would be like trying to swallow petroleum jelly. There's not enough antibiotics in them to do any good inside the body anyway and it would probably taste horrible.
