The sad thing about this whole thread, is that we could have actually been discussing the issue of whether Resurrection Sunday is a pagan holiday or not.

Instead, we have to go over simple material, like when Constantine lived, and the date of the councils. To say nothing of the fact that the Edict of Milan stopped the persecution of Christians, which Constantine had witnessed as a upper class Roman when Diocletian, emperor, was issue edicts against the "worshippers of Christ." Whatever Constantine's motive, he certainly was instrumental and used by God to stop persecution.

To say nothing of calling councils which worked through a lot of early church doctrine. We owe a lot to those Church Councils.
I'm sorry? discuss things? in the bible discussion forum? now that would certainly take a miracle, yeps no discussing here only debates and senseless arguing what did you think this was? the bible discussion forum? wait......

We eat the chocolate bunnies, peeps, and eggs that were offered to idols, and worship the Resurrected Christ of God. Our 7 year old daughter has a basket somewhere. :)

You must've not read the same posts.
You are mistaken... Angela doesn't do "contmpt"...

She regularly exposes sloppy/incorrect statements of "facts", but is never mean or contemptuous about it.

I do try my hardest not to be mean! But I do stand for truth, and where historical facts are concern, this OP had none.

Too many people take everything personally in this forum, and forget we are discussing theology, which does have a great range of possibilities. So, we should never attack the person, but rather, deal intelligently with the topic, and forgive the person who is insulting. We cannot do less for Jesus!
I do wish you WOULD stand for truth! hAnd to discuss intelligently with a goal of truthfully learning about God.

There are many pros and cons to what Constantine did, but there are no pros and cons to what God is about.

You seem to have read something about Constantine, but only the good things that God used him for. In order to learn history as it happened or to read about a person's life work it cannot be a white washed history and it cannot be only the blackest part of his life.

My report of history only had to do with his changing how the Lord asks us to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. I do not think it is right for you to take these simple facts to make it into a way to be personal, to call me a liar or any of the other personal putdowns you are making. This should be a discussion of scripture and history. I rounded off numbers, you made it into something WAY beyond rounding off. The Nicene Council lasted three years, you have used this to insinuate how smart you are and dumb I am. It is not right how you are posting. It goes a long way beyond saying only one side of what Constantine did should ever be written of.

No it did not. In fact, you never even mentioned the resurrection in your OP.

I am going to have to ask you to back off please, Angela has always stood for the truth and more than most stands from a biblical point of view she is well versed in both scripture and in logic and you are making false accusations about her. I trust Angela's judgement because I have known her for a long time, you however barely know her and are making accusations about her that are not true. If you cannot debate in a loving and respectful manner then perhaps you should not debate

I have heard of her from my research in bible prophecy some people claim that the statue of liberty is the whore of babylon because it was made in her likeness out of all the Godesses out there in myths and stories hers is perhaps the most disgusting to me

This time Angela is not giving only truth, do check her out, Blain. What she says about Constantine is based on truth, but her denial of the facts I give are not.

But I am using the same words to her she uses to me, and just copying someone else is no excuse for wrong doing.

It is important to know scripture, and when someone denies what scripture tells us and says you don't know what you are talking about when you report it, it is hard to respond while sending love for what they are saying. I'll manage better, thanks for helping me.

LOL i can see it now, a giant chocolate bunny and people standing before it at night in the light of candles wearing brown robes and bowing before it asking it for more chocolate and praying for blessing of jelly beans and to smite all who oppose their sacred occult.

God up in heaven would probably be scratching his head and worried about their minds lol

The word "Easter" is listed once in the KJV..... and it's wrongly put there.

My own children practice it. One of them says he "allows" it thinking it's not that big a deal.

I disagree. Just another thing to take Jesus' place. Just another bare-faced lie to tell our kids.

But some will say, "Oh but it's not fair for your kids will be left out".

We have "alternatives" for Halloween, why not easter?

I never had to practice the Easter basket. I was able to get right into it and gobble up the chocolate with no problems whatsoever.

Maybe I can tutor Easter basketing for people who need to practice it.
