Many of my understandings of Scripture run directly contradictory to the beliefs and doctrines of many of your churches. And it is in these bodies that you will have to fit, listening to and not conflicting with the traditional things being taught by your Youth Ministers who were taught these thing so they could teach them to you as your church wants them taught.

Frankly, I don't really believe that it matters whether you see certain things as I see them, or as your denominations see them, but it is often a very big deal to your preachers. I won't do it any other way. Get some basics down before you do the type of questioning I still do, to this day. (It is considered heretical by many... and you don't need that yet.) I'm always here, or I will give out an email address that comes to both my wife's computer and mine at the same moment, if necessary, should any of you run across something that just doesn't ring right in your ears, and you want to hear how the crazy, wild-eyed old man looks at it..

My own preacher loves to talk with me, and agrees with much I see, but even he won't let me preach because of this same thing. He knows there are just certain things that should be imparted only by the old traditional methods when people are first learning.

I hope I never gave the impression that I am not thoroughly up for that. Because, I certainly am. What I intended to get across is that, say for instance, your church wants to teach you that God punished Jesus on the cross for our transgressions, that He wanted to be able to punish us, but Jesus defended us from His anger. I would not even go there, but I would show how I feel Scripture stated, instead, that God, looking for a way for us not to have to endure a decree that He put in place, took His already-active-in-the-universe consequences in our place... in the form of Jesus.

In other words, "gravity" is a force God put in place, right? It exists, and always acts the same for everyone and everything. And if we step off a cliff and fall 300 feet, we die... period. God is not killing us. We are suffering the consequences for being stupid enough to step off that cliff in the first place. But we have all heard of fantastic instances where seemingly Divine intervention saved a person's life when they SHOULD have been killed by the natural law of things.

God divinely intervened in the natural consequence of the eternal state of death coming upon all men when He (as Jesus) circumvented that decree He had put into universal action. Men no longer have to die simply because God told Adam they would if they disobeyed (failed to trust) Him. God provided a way to forgive our stupidity if we would return to trusting Him by depending solely upon what Jesus did by accepting the effects of those consequences.

That's, in a nutshell, what I see the Scriptures saying. But the majority of Christendom sees something else. We are very hooked on "tit for tat". You MUST be punished if you do wrong. And if not you (because of redemption) then SOMEONE has to be punished. It is just not rational to our vindictively-focused minds that a wrong can go unpunished.

Therefore, with that preconceived notion, the idea of "excusing" our having to endure the consequence for our distrust by letting Jesus take the fall (but only to a point... since His death was not ETERNAL) is totally unreasonable to most people.

And those people are often preachers. And they feel they have a responsibility to show that Jesus (as God) wasn't being super loving to us by giving us a way out of our stupidity, but was instead, "pouring out His wrath and anger" on Himself.

There are a lot of verses they can't see any other way (Some in Isaiah especially) because of a refusal to think anything but God being hell-bent on unleashing some vindictive whup-ass on the humans He created.

Anyway, all that to say that if you walked into you church with an idea like that, you would have the wrath of man come down on you harder than some of the people here come down on me for daring to believe God is not out to get even with us for having the audacity to doubt Him.

And you kids don't need that. Do what makes your leadership happy. Learn the traditions of man first (or at least let yourselves be subjected to that teaching...... because it saddens me to think that would freeze in your minds.) before you start asking if all that is REALLY what God is trying to convey in the Bible.

I'll probably be here for a long time to let you hear the other side, so don't worry about that.

"older" men ? Please don't talk about willie ...and besides that all you do on this forum is cause strife and contention .... Most "real" bible teachers are "older" men ...have you read the bible ? Written by older Jewish men...


and I didn't see the "teen" part of the equation. A bible study needs to be led or at least watched over by someone who knows sound doctrine ...Teens are not well known for that..... because it takes decades of study.

Well hell Id rather be taught by a grown man like Mitspa or Willie than someone around my age... Its a simple fact that adults had more time to study the bible (specially the greek and hebrew) than us teens. That doesnt mean we are dumb though lol Im not tryin to say that. And adult people are a bit more patient (I loose my patience around teens very fast). if anyone has questions teens or not Im open but Id say as bible study teachers yall off better with adults, the older the better.

I guess I'm spoiled. I've gotten used to kids like you guys, and several 15 to 17 year-olds in my own congregation who often sound more mature and educated than a lot of adults.

Okay I didnt mean to start any arguments. In my personal opinion I would like an adult to lead the Bible study as well. I feel like adults are much wiser. :)

Same actually. That is probably why I don't have any friends. And that's what I'm trying to do is make friends with people. :) Most people don't like me because i am mature for my age in most areas of life.
 
On this forum you could start a thread about how Jesus is good and someone like ugly would chime in to be "ugly"

Yeppers. I generally get along much better with adults.. While ppl in my age are going drinking I go to a cafe and got teatime with pensioners!! lol! Yea I only had like one friend in my last school. Was all that was needed.. I was mainly talking with the teachers anyway! lol
Well lemme tell ya Willie,Utah,Mitspa,Ladybug,Yonah,Grace70x777 are good sorces :) Theyre honest if you like it or not and you can get a lot of wisdom from them. We have a few (as u already saw on your post) just randomly chime in and cause trouble. Im sure you will get the hand of whos ok and whos not :) Keep your head up
