Can I add another perspective on the subject. People tend to
assume that only Muslim people live in the countries referred to but there
are also many Christians refugees/immigrants etc.

THE MIDDLE EAST
Syria is the 'largest displacement crisis globally' according to the UN. More than half the
Syrian population have left their homes; 7.6 million are internally displaced within the country,
and 4 million are refugees outside it. Before the war there were some 1.8 million Christians
in Syria; now best estimates stand at between 700,000 and 800,000.
Most of Syria's refugees have ended up in refugee camps in Turkey, Lebanon or Jordan.
But many Christians fear to go into the camps where, in the words of one, 'we are still a
vulnerable minority in a very dangerous place'.
"You flee to survive and keep your children safe, but that is just as hard in the camps," said
a father in a refugee camp in Lebanon. "It can be tough to find enough to eat and also to stop
undesirables preying particularly on our young daughters."
I would add that Turkey is a mainly Muslim country but there is also a
large Christian population. Some of the surrounding countries also are
muslim only on the face of it, but they have a large Christian underground
network.
The reason I know this is that I know the staff and director of radio world wide
which is a branch of WEC.
They broadcast Christian programmes into turkey and the surrounding
countries. Every year my church along with other churches in the area, do
a missions trek to turkey and hold many women's conferences and also
general Christians conferences and pray days.
Hundreds and hundreds attend these not just from turkey but also from
the underground persecuted Christian church of the surrounding countries.
We have had exchanges where teams of Christians from these countries
have visited our church on short trips. It is heart breaking to hear their
stories but also heart warming to hear the amazing testimonies of
salvation, blessings God has bestowed on these people and the miraculous
answers to prayer.
Am just drawing this to everyone's attention as it gets forgotten in such discussions.
Incidentally when people say immigrants should enter by the front door legally,
when your country and home is being bombed to smitherenes, it would be
mighty difficult to find pen and paper to fill in an application form.
Not all of these immigrants are Muslim, many thousands are Christians not just
fleeing the bombing but also fleeing the persecution.
