What are your thoughts on Isaiah 9.6-7?

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.

You're absolutely right provided the monarchy is established in righteousness. With each passing day, our Republic is proving God's Word more and more correctly -- the love of money is the root of all evil.

Monarchy? I thought Isaiah is speaking of a Theocracy :)

Nice try but I'm also kind of right wing too. Much more than Bernie is, but at least he cares about American citizens and equality.

i realize this makes me a minority among American Christians - who somehow are duped into thinking a Republican is their only choice - but every Republican candidate except Huckabee makes me want to puke, and Hilary the same.
Bernie Sanders is the only candidate i can realistically support. i like him. he's honest and his record is consistent, and i agree with a lot more of what he has to say than what i disagree about.

I totally agree.

I don't understand the connection between Republican and Christian either. I'm sure nobody likes those who abuse the welfare system but we should provide for the poor. I've never been on it, but that doesn't mean people who are are less than me. Also people always make fun of people on food stamps too... Its like, if I didn't have a church and my family to help me when I had been in need, I don't know what would've happened, as I went without meals enough as it was.

Mercy is important in how we handle our money. Of course, I also have a lot of Republican stances as well such as being very pro life, but I don't think either party has it all figured out like they claim. We should take the good from both sides.

So you're a left leaning, right leaning, independent that's championing a Socialist? You sound pretty Left to me. Why do you believe Bernie cares about American citizens? Which political leaders running don't care about American citizens in your opinion?

You'd probably like Kasich then. Much better record of doing all these things than Bernie by far.

I thank God that the government helps people in need. However, many, many, many people, arguably more than half receiving government handouts, are not in need whatsoever; they're lazy parasites living off the collective backs of the working class. I have a real problem with that.
