I finally saw Star Wars and it was amazing. There were a few things that I didn't like though...but I don't wanna spoil it for anyone. Maybe I'll make a thread about it soon so we can talk.
I hope everyone had a great day today. Happy to have a Savior!
Happy birthday Jesus Christ!

Hi Molly! Merry Christmas, dear sister. Yes, let's talk Star Wars. :)

As long as you've lived there you should know that the term "desert" refers to annual precipitation, not temperatures. Huge percentages of Colorado are considered desert (including Co Springs) yet we get temperatures well below freezing. Right now it is 13f with a wind chill of -13f.
Desert to me means lots of palm trees, sand and year-round sunshine. Anything else is just wanna-be desert. In my book, if I'm in no danger of dying from heat stroke there, then its not a desert. :)

You are in danger of dying of heat stroke where you're at (and that's not even our desert). Although this last Summer wasn't too bad, huh? It felt LONG, but not as hot as previous Summers.

I was talking about colorado because Oncefallen explained how colorado is actually classified as a desert.

By the way, hope you had a good Christmas! :)

The moment you get to the movie theater to see Star Wars and the three most terrible words came out of the person at the box office, "It's sold out," as I walk away heartbroken.

Desert can be baking in daytime and freezing at night. It's weird like that, mostly because of not much water in the air.

Just spent all night organizing yet another part of the garage. It's now 5:48am... do I sleep or stay awake??

Summer in our parts was MILD... And yes it seemed long, but so did fall if we are just experiencing our winter this weekend....

El Nino, why must you jack up everything

Wait......Colorado is technically a desert???

I did did not know this.... :(

Most people when they think of Colorado think of the ski resort areas up in the mountains (as did I before coming here). In reality, most of Colorado is considered to be high desert. Just like Southern CA, if it weren't for the water provided by the winter snow pack in the mountains the metropolitan areas of Denver and Colorado Springs would be incapable of existing.

Oh wow, that;s pretty cool, I had no idea..

So, note to self: Go up in the mountains to get the snow I want... stay away from the valley where the desert is. I guess that would make sense.. Colorado has a lot of mountains up there.... I just wanna visit... cause thats' one thing on my bucket list to do, visit there during the winter and stay at a lodge or something when its snowing.. Sounds crazy I know... but I love the snow, and I love winter.. :)
