Maybe you guys should have brick-built houses like we Brits have? Wouldn't they stand up better to the storms you get?

Sorry I am not around much these days. My RA has really gone right to the bottom! My last drug failed badly, and now I am on two new drugs, which may take months to work, if they work at all. And my last possible meds that are strong enough to deal with the severity of the disease.

I am in constant pain, taking too much prednisone and pain killers, which barely get me out of bed. Typing is almost impossible, if I do it, I wake up in the night screaming my hands hurt so badly. Hence, the not posting, and the reason I turned off my messages.

I do love and care for you are, but right now, this journey is very, very hard. I'm not yet depressed, but I am discouraged, in many ways. Please pray this med will work, without serious side effects. (The good news is that so far the one drug has not affected my liver!)

Miss you all!

PS I am lurking, so you will see "likes" from time to time. And the occasional post if I really feel prompted to write one.
Miss you Angela.....hope you are lurking about and see the message. tourist's wife, Beverly also had RA and suffered terribly so he knows what you are going through and we are both so sorry that you are suffering so. Praying you will get relief from this pain and God will comfort and strengthen you to be able to bear it.... Glad to read a note from you....

I know in 2002 we had a bad windstorm that we later found was a tornado and lost two trees one of which demolished our woodshed since we burned wood and the other landed on our house and it was like God held on to the tree so it didn't cave in. Fortunately, our family was close at that time and we all came together and cut up the trees and cleaned up the mess. We ended up without power for about five days and my grandparents let my dad borrow their generator to keep our refrigerator going.

Frank I am so thankful everyone is okay :)

How's that dear little girl doing Frank?

She's doing great, happy as she can be. Spends most of her day in the playground.
So far, she has done what was expected of her, not breaking the rules that we had
to put in place for her. There is much that she could get hurt on out here, so rules
had to be put in place.

Some of these homes were brick. The force of these storms is something else, when
they take a direct hit. Most of Johns Island was destroyed in 1989, by Hugo. All of the
homes had to meet the new codes, after Hugo.
Our home on the Island of Palms, was destroyed by Hugo also. My backyard, was the ocean.
We built it in 1977, it was our first home, we never found one piece of it. The farm had damage,
but, we moved back into the farm house, repaired the damage, and never wanted to live ocean
front again. We sold the property in 1992, and haven't been back to the island.

Yea, we are to. Houses can be replaced, lives can't.

We lost the roof of the big barn, a few more trees, and sadly 6 cows.
They were hit with the roof from the barn, they weren't dead, but we
had to put them down. So, we are having them processed, going to
keep 2 for us, one to a neighbor, three to the food pantry. No need to
throw the meat away, as there's nothing wrong with it.

Well, I'm sorry for having to lose the cows but at least you and the wife can bless other families with the meat. I know our next door neighbor growing up lived by himself and he would always give my parents a side of beef every year and it was a blessing in so many ways:)

Hard to imagine that kind of force.

Apparently my grandmother got that around the age of 19 or 20....she fought through the pain and wasn't going to let it stop her....I can't imagine the pain one would have from RA let alone fighting it. Have you thought about getting a software that lets you talk instead of type? I will be praying for you.

It's funny now that you mention it, cause when I fell down on the pavement he started crying so hard and I got right back up and just held on to him and kept saying I was okay even though I wasn't sure my phone was. But thankfully it still works. Then he had to write a story about my fall for school using his spelling words. Lol

Well, one of my cats may be ill. Not the one I've mentioned earlier this past summer, but another one... She's lost a patch of fur that I've first noticed, and then I noticed her walking with a limp. We found a lump underneath her and not expecting it to be something good or may or may not have a good outcome since we've experienced something similar with a pet before... She's ten years old and a bit overweight, which the weight concerned me for a while since she tends to be lazy... It wasn't easy to spot odd behavior due to her not being all that active.

I don't want to process this... I don't want this to happen. We can literally never catch a break in terms of something going wrong if not financial issues. I'm in the middle of trying to do okay in school. I don't need to go through another bout of depression. Why is it that when you don't want something to happen, it just...happens?

You may have found a mini me....lol
When I was little I was playing basketball with me sister and tried to get the ball from her....I accidentally missed the ball and hit her eye. I ran back inside crying because I thought I hurt her horribly....now I bet that story he wrote was cute.
So my niece climbed into a tree the other day and started making monkey sounds.....pretending to be a monkey....atleast she didn't ask for a banana....
