Health and fitness are high priority with me. I would actually like to start a career in it. I try to workout about 4-5 times a week. I bounce between 8-10% body fat. I've been trying to get some people to train. There is a strong endocrinological aspect to my program. Weight and health are tied more tightly to your hormones than your workout plan. As well, food combining is key to getting a handle on chronic stress from food, as is getting oxidative stress under wraps. Once you pin those down you can better control cortisol. Learn how to eat, you maximize digestion and absorption of nutrients giving your body vitality. If you get your hormones running properly you not only stay healthy but can fight disease naturally. If you want a copy of my diet plan so far I would be happy to share. I could fill a book on the dangers of cortisol and how it damages just about everything in your body. Is a fitness coach the same as a personal trainer?

Yeah, I typically don't use banana except in my protein shakes.
Have you heard of AGEs or glycation. Eating carbs combined with proteins or fats; or cooking a starch with fat, or starch and protein forms molecules that are damaging to the body. They cause an increase in oxidative damage and can lead to degenerative diseases including, diabetes, vascular complications, and Alzheimer's. Just thought I'd mention it. Banana in protein shake might not be a perfect mix.

A fitness coach and a personal trainer are not the same. But this comment made me very happy regardless :) I don't know what personal trainers do exactly. I mean, I know the gist of it but not what it all entails.

That's really cool. What got you interested in boxing and martial arts?
Stature. I'm a short one at 5'1" and I like the thought of being able to defend myself. And I like the thought of having a body that can do cool things. Being skinny isn't my life goal, but having a strong functional body is an awesome one.

I was running and backpack walking 3 days a week to stay in shape for elk hunting.

But then I switched to weight training in March. Squats, bench press, dead lift and stairclimber mostly now. Still try to run once a week.

I don't have a special diet but I try to cut out bread and soda as much as possible. But I love bread and soda is pretty good sometimes too. I try to have a high protein and low carb diet.

I actually gained about 5-10 lbs but all my clothes fit better with more room in the waist and tighter shirts in the arms and chest.

Tomorrow is leg day with stairclimber, squats, leg extensions, leg curls, and leg presses. I might put the dead lift in there too depending on how I feel... Today was bench press, incline bench, and overhead press. Sometimes I put a tricep pulldown in there too.

I lift weights four times a week and walk/jog two times a week. I want to make walking an integral part of my life, doing so five times a week. Sometimes CC gets in the way of that. :)

Well let me see :)

I stretch, bend tug push and pull the lawn mower around the garden, trim the hedges
pull up the weeds etc for several hours every few weekends.

I push and pull the vac around the house, then there is the bending and stretching
while getting the laundry in and out of the washer and dryer.

Not to mention running for the bus half a dozen times a week and all that walking
between bus stops and home. Plus dozens of other daily activities.

Then finally I do a forward roll into bed.

Who said you have to pay for exercise. Lol

True. Depending on your hormone levels, it can contribute to weight gain. Definitely seek an Endocrinologists. Might even improve mood swings and fatigue.

I don't do P90x or insanity or anything like that. 15 minutes of light cardio 2-3 times a week with weight lifting 4 times a week.

I used to work in the construction industry so I never had to work out. I worked hard every day.

But now all I do is sit and look out a window at work, and try not to eat too much. The first two years of this I gained 20lbs. I then lost 10 of it by not eating as much. Then I lost 5 more of it jogging and back pack walking. Then I gained the 5 lbs back weight lifting.

I've never lifted weights before. I was always worried it would decrease my range of motion. I'm not so worried about that now. It's kind of fun lifting weights. I think I will keep at it unless I get injured or something.

Tomorrow is pull ups. Overhand grip, underhand grip and then wide grip. Deltoids pulls. Then rows. All 10 reps x3. I think I'll add deadlifts to the end. I didn't do them today...

Why is that? Too cheap or too expensive??

I have a rule when it comes to workout clothes... never spend too much, but never miss a workout for the lack of a set...

So, when I forget to bring a set of workout clothes to work with me, I just buy a new set... and since they're not expensive, it's all good...

Oh.. and everything is black... so I don't need to think about matching... whatever I grab will be fine...

Don't be... :) I think one should be free to indulge in some heathy spending every now and then...

I have friends who will gladly pay over 1000 dollars for a purse... I personally cannot picture myself paying a tenth of that...

However I've spent quite a lot on swords and games... and those same friends think I'm crazy for it...

So don't be embarassed for that... it's your money, those are your clothes, nobody pays your bills but you, so let them mind their own business... ;)

Over $1,000? That is crazy. Mine is under $100 haha. I'm not used to doing splurges. I just know I desperately needed new workout clothes.

5 minute stationary bike gradual resistance intervals(30 second intervals)

3x12 low-belly double-leg reach
5x7 dumbbell curls
5x7 dumbbell tricep extensions
150 reps with my Resistance Tube
Various other ab and cardio workouts
