You know what women want? They want guys to stop trying to figure them out and just BE THEMSELVES for a change. Then girls wouldn't have to spend so much time and energy trying to determine if they were seeing the real guy or a facade of what the guy thinks the girl wants.

"Let's see... is he really into disco or did he somehow get the impression I'm into disco and he wants to make me like him? I really hope it's just a fake because I never want to see a disco ball again... oh shoot he just brought up Aretha Franklin."

It would take a lot of effort out of it if she could know she was seeing what she thought she was seeing, without all the guessing games.

My objectives was to just have a fun discussion and see what guys would say if they was given a chance to talk with the guys...you do know that guys talk different about women..when they are just with other guys?

I thought it would be entertaining and could actually help guys learn from other guys.
You'd be surprised. I've proven I can actually talk (and listen) to men and have had more than a few frank and open conversations with them (when none of us it trying to impress or shame the other).

But what I asked was what your objections to the following and where you think the women (and men) here are preferring feminism to the proper and biblical place God gave to men: " Originally Posted by Mitspa

Those cookies are easy to make. They're dipped in chocolate and decorated in royal icing. Easy peasy.

Mitspa. :) I am smiling as I'm typing this because I am thinking of that time when you told your girlfriend to put on some makeup so that she could meet your coworkers, and how you were confused when she was hurt. I see more of that same situation in your posts and threads, how you say things and then when ladies get upset, you don't think they have any reason to be upset and say that they are "too uptight", when it's just an issue of you not seeing things through their eyes, or why they might be hurt at something that you said.

I hope you can see this post as coming from someone who respects you as a person, and I hope you respect me enough to consider what I have to say here. I am not upset, or angry, and I am certainly not offended by the fact that you are male. But I can clearly see why ladies get offended by some of your words, and it has nothing to do with feminism. ;)

I know you said that, in the makeup scenario, God needed to explain to you why your girlfriend was offended. I would like to suggest (in love) that you ask Him to do that for you again, in regards to your threads and posts and the way you have been received on cc by the women. I really do not think that the problem is what you think it is.
Thank Popclick...your wisdom is always welcome and you really do have it :)

Sure... but you kinda made it part of the thread when you complained that the men's responses were tainted with feminism over the 'proper and biblical place God gave to men'. So, that's what I am asking... what it is you see is feminism over the biblical view of men's proper place....

You are asking men what it is that women want, you got an answer and the above was your complaint. So I am asking for you to explain to me how these men's view is not biblical - or how it's somehow not a part of God's plan... for women.

I really do want to understand, because if my viewpoint is not biblical, I want to align myself with God, right? So, help me understand where these men who I agree with have it wrong. Please?

Ok how does a guy do that?
Asking her what she thinks... and listening to what she has to say... without assuming she's just being a feminist... is a great place to start. :)

myself I think women want to be treated with respect and as an equal. As the Word of God says the man is the covering of the woman. But at the same time women want to be loved and respected and ask for their opinions and treated as an equal.

They want a strong man with strong leadership skills (though some may deny that kicking and screaming, deep down they really want those qualities).

They want safety and security, and women do prefer to be LED, as opposed to DOMINATED.

After that, it's:

chocolate
shoes
wine
purses
cats

Oh wait, I must be thinking of Facebook right now :D

No it was never my intention to get into a back and forth and have to answer for every word and thought I have...:)

That's part of the point...that you gals get so accusative and defensive when this issue comes up...just relax..guys will be guys and its not wrong for them to have male type thoughts and opinions :)

Yeah right. It CAN'T be that easy. That's just a ploy to get a man to say what he thinks so a woman can disparage him.

Wait... can it really be that simple?

Naaaaaah!

So... you aren't going to help me understand your perspective and where I might be missing God? I'm not being accusative or defensive. I am honestly, really and truly asking you to help me see if I have missed it somewhere.

In the absence of biblical correction, I presume that it's your opinion that these men's view - which mirror my own - are unbiblical. And I will then proceed with my opinion as it stands. I'm giving you an opening to correct my thinking, will you?

Edit: Subject/Verb agreement.

first of all I think women are best qualified to answer this question, but if I were to make the attempt... I would say women want to live a life of fulfillment and that may differ greatly from one woman to the next, I believe most women want to be heard, respected, needed, nurtured, taken care of, freedom to feel and assert their desires and needs in a healthy way, they want to love, nurture, take care of, and allow others the freedom to assert their desires in a healthy way, they want to contribute and be a part of the life of the ones they love in a very personal way, and they want to be appreciated and never taken for granted... that's my opinion and as long as I have been married I see the more I know my wife the less I really know her, but one thing is certain I love her... even when she makes me crazy. so although I do not claim to know all that much about women, I do speak from experience, my own...
