yer but telling him to abandon his relationship with his friends is wrong they are not the problem dont you think thats being alittle unhuman
There is a term which is not commonly used in atheistic circles, being a biblical analogy. The term is 'unequally yoked'. This term refers to a yoke of oxen, who have been harnessed together to work in a field. A man named Paul in one of his letters to the church of Corinth, warned that body of believers, to avoid being unequally yoked together with unbelievers. This analogy depicts two oxen pulling in two different directions, which has the potential to create confusion and a dangerous imbalance, which, when applied to Christian/non-Christian relationships, wars against ones commitment to Christ.
This was not slanderous or inhuman, but very practical. Someone who has accepted that Jesus died for their sins and acknowledges his authority as Lord, has a hope of entering heaven, but also has a responsibility on earth to maintain a life of obedience to God's word. The word of God, not being considered by most atheists, also defines sin, a concept also not considered in atheistic circles.
Associations in this world are not limited or even discouraged, but when those relationships/friendships begin to introduce doubt or persuade a Christian to consider rebellion against God, the relationship itself becomes a liability.
