The problem with rejecting "Once saved always saved" allows people like the Catholics to "work" for their Salvation on their own terms!
Clearly the Holy Spirit teaches that we receive Salvation JUST BY BELIEVING in Jesus Christ!
John 3:16

If you BELIEVE that Jesus Christ IS the Son of God you WILL NOT perish but will have everlasting life!

If you do not believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God you are condemned!
Clearly these verses FROM the Holy Spirit teaches us that Salvation is received BY BELIEVING!

Salvation is a GIFT that we receive by FAITH, the faith that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and the GRACE of God! Its NOT by works like the Catholics teach!
You have to understand that in the Catholic Church God and the Scriptures come in dead last for authority! The highest authority in the Catholic Church is their man-made Traditions and their private interpretations of the Scriptures! The Catholics interpret the Scriptures to show that their Traditions have more Truth than the Holy Spirit!
Catholics clearly teach and preach Mary was sinless and was assumed into Heaven. The Holy Spirit clearly teaches Mary was a sinner and died like everyone else!
Its a shame but the Catholics today are a Cult that worships and follows Mary as their Goddess!

I know I'm going to be bashed for this but plz I'm not trying to be rude to anyone .... Millions of people can read the same book and have a different thought about details in the book. Which reader is talkin for the author. I don't think any do but they all like the same book with different ideas about some detail..... well just my thought

you are quite right. God wrote His word so that it could help a million people in a million situations. The Holy Spirit takes of it and applies it to our particular need. We may have much disagreement on the detail, what matters is that we are right on the essentials. That Jesus Christ is true God and true man, and that He died for us and rose again so that our sins could be forgiven and we could receive a new life, His life
Jeff I go to school with girls that are RC. They are not heretics. They are nice people and they are Christian too. In the old testament heretics were burnt at the stake. The only thing these RC girls deserve is my friendship and I think GOD would agree.
hi Zoii I wouldn't take much notice of Jeff if I were you. He thinks all Roman Catholics, most if not all Baptists, Presbyterians and Methodists, all Republicans, and all Lawyers are doomed from the start.
By the way burning at the stake was a Middle Age punishment practised by Roman Catholics and Protestants alike. In the Old Testament serious heretics (Jews who were idolaters) were supposed to be stoned to death Deut 13.10).

Many people read the same book and have different ideas.
Catholic and christian read not the same book.
They believe Maria was assumed to heaven, it is not in the same book /christian bible.
You have to love your friend and not let your friend go to hell.

My friends are the nicest people I know. They are not evil heretics who should go to hell - they are truly kind and smart. I dont think its for anyone here to judge them badly for reading the bible and thinking about GOD. I dont - I think they r amazing - I'm positive GOD would too no matter what anyone here might throw at them

Many catholics are real christians.... and will be en heaven, maybe you and me not.
We try to welcome everyone to our site including people who grow up with Catholic tradition because of course we want to lead people to the truth.
But sometimes it's perceived that we tolerate error and heresy. Please understand first of all that we don't screen every thread and post in this forum. YOU can help with that.
So for the record, Catholicism is heresy. That's what the admins of this site believe.
Mary WAS A SINNER.
She needed a savior, just like you and me.
She is NOT the "mother of God". God has no mother, because God is God. Yes Jesus is God, and Mary was his mother, but we have to understand the dual nature of Jesus. He was 100% God yes, and also 100% man. Mary was his mother as a man, not as God. No where does the scripture refer to Mary as the "mother of God". And in fact, she's not even mentioned in all the epistles. All the New Testament instruction to the church is all about Jesus, not Mary. They never said "hail Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners". They always said JESUS .. JESUS... JESUS.
This is preaching to the choir for most people here. But it regularly happens that we start to accumulate Catholics here who really promote and argue their Catholicism, along with all the heresy.
So for the record, if anyone wants or needs to hear it, we don't agree with Catholic heresy. And yes it is heresy to exalt any other human being as sinless to the same level as Jesus (as the Catholics do with Mary -- they actually teach that Mary was sinless like Jesus!!!), and put equal focus on a person other than Jesus.
At the same time, we understand that no one is born a Christian. That's why Jesus said you must be born again. So we welcome all who are seeking -- Catholics, Muslims, homosexuals, and even protestants who are "Christian" only by tradition -- to experience our fellowship here on this site and learn the truth that Jesus is the way and the truth and the life and no one can come to the father except through Him. And there is only one God, and one mediator between God, the man Christ Jesus. Because he was both 100% man and 100% God, that makes him the perfect mediator between man and God. That's why the scripture also tells us to go straight to Jesus -- go to the throne of grace with confidence, knowing that he can understand our weaknesses and everything, since he lived as a man like us (and even experienced all temptation). Hence we don't need Mary to go to or go through -- that defeats the purpose of Jesus.
I saw my mother-in-law die before my eyes putting her faith in Mary. Days before she died I asked her if Mary can save her and she actually said yes. Then in her dying moments, my father-in-law pushed me in front of her to pray for her as she was dying before our eyes. I simply prayed out loud in front of everyone that she would put her faith in Jesus, and ONLY JESUS. There was protesting in the background "wala na Maria? wala na Maria?", which is Filipino language for "No Mary?? No Marry??". You see how deceived they all are. It is sad. You see how the devil uses that poison to add something to Jesus.
So I hope it's clear what we believe and we hope that we can promote the truth here in love.

I do! Because loving others brings my heart more joy than I have ever known! I'm just grateful to God....that I have this chance to love. I don't know how long I have, and I'm sure not wasting my life on earth being bitter, or cruel or vain. God bless you as we walk in God's path of light together. Sure evil things in life will try to catch us in webs, or snare us with thorns. But each day I am able to live, the stronger I love others...whew that Holy Spirit gives me the power to break them snares, and get up strong back on that path of loving light of God! Hallelujah! The bible said Jesus is the only way to heaven.
If you love your neighbor, you have to make sure your neighbor go to heaven.
If your neighbor pray to Mary, you have to love them and warn them with love, to only pray to Jesus.

SHE considered that they would call her blessed because she mothered the Messiah. It was blessed for that one thing, not an indication that she was to be something special. She was not indicating that she would have any other status. She was not seen as blessed when she and her sons tried to turn Jesus from His ministry and Jesus repudiated her and said that His mother were those who did the will of the Father (Mark 3.21, 31-35). Nor was she seen as blessed by Jesus when the woman cried, 'blessed is the womb which bore you and the breasts that you have sucked on', and Jesus replied,'yes, RATHER, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it (Luke 11.27-28).
It cannot be denied that Jesus went out of His way to make clear that Mary held no special position in God's eyes once her faith had failed. We can honour her for being chosen to bear the Messiah, we can sympathise with her sinful nature which made her think that she knew better than Jesus. What we must not do is over-exalt her on the one hand or over-condemn her on the other.

Only those who have the Indwelling of the Holy Spirit can understand and receive what He says in the Scriptures. Nobody who does not have the Indwelling of the Holy Spirit can ever understand Spiritual things.
I'll give you an example. The Catholics teach that Mary was without sin. The Holy Spirit teaches that ALL have sinned and that the only person who was without sin was Jesus Christ.
