She said she was quote "taken of in a vision" and God taught her some new understanding of the truth of scripture....Not sure what kind of bible study you guys are used to but this seems to be a claim far beyond a simple bible study!
It was beyond a simple bible study, God directly answered the prayers of those involved by providing light upon the subject under examination through a vision. If you want to deny this is possible go for it, it will not change the fact that God does do such things. Just saying the thing happened is no proof or evidence that it is untrue. Prove the conclusions drawn from the visions wrong by scripture, and then you will prove something. The gift of prophecy is real, a false prophet is proved false by scripture or prophetic utterence that does not come true. Of course, many biblical prophecies have not come true yet either, but this does not make them false, just unfulfilled as yet.

White blames her failed prophecy on the members of the Seventh-day Adventist church: "Thus the work was hindered, and the world was left in darkness. Had the whole Adventist body united upon the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, how widely different would have been our history." (Selected Messages, Book 1, p.299).

See its not really her fault! Its these faithless SDA folks who caused her to be wrong!
What are you saying she was wrong about, do you even know. Context please, it is important. What exactly is your point, then it can be addressed with context filled in. Since you apparently will not provide the same. No doubt doing so, will not be conducive to supporting your accusation or argument.

I don't blame you guys for not wanting folks to know about the founder of your group.. its very sad and shameful what this woman did. But either you guys need to renounce her and move away from her doctrines and teachings or be honest enough to stand up and defend her, because she is the SDA church and there is not one without the other. You guys want to start a thread to defend your group...so defend its foundations or cast them down and start over.
More ignorance doing as ignorance does. I ask you again, supply one doctrine that originated with EGW. Tell us, which doctrine of the SDA Church originated with her. If you cannot even do this, why do you continue to flaunt your ignorance by claiming her as the founder of our doctrines? Here we are, which doctrines are you referring to?

Look guys...the lady is clearly a fraud and its evident to anyone who really looks at the things she wrote and the claims she made. I don't want any of you guys to think I cannot accept your own personal faith in Christ...because I can, apart from your religious group, just as I do for catholics. But some cannot and should not ever accept the SDA or ellen g white as a true part of the Church of Jesus Christ...God forbid!
I have read her writings extensively, and have concluded she was a prophetess of God. Tell us Mitspa, just how many of her books have you actually read?

false religion were the operative words.
If you must split hairs then have at it. I have plenty of friends in the 4 square denomination who I know to be Christ followers in every sense of the word.... even though that denomination has a questionable origin. What is your point?

i didn't start a false religion and deceive millions.
Neither did she. There is not one person on this planet that will be able to blame another for their own deception.

I came to my religion completely outside the box of religion altogether. I had and have no tradition or religious background to have been polluted by, or any need to defend. Farewell. Thanks for the hit and run.

Look Lynx ...The strength of our faith is in the fact that Jesus Christ is absolutely who He claimed to be! This religion is based solely on a false teacher and false prophet named ellen g white. Its so clear and evident that she is false that they do not want anyone to know all the false doctrine and false prophecies she has taught. If you really want to understand the errors of their doctrine you must go to the source! Now you can do as you like, and as you already know, I will do what I believe I should do :)
I am afraid the real issue is that:

1, you don't read Ellen White in full context.
2, What you perceive to be error is actually your lack of bible knowledge. Which you force me to believe being that you have some refusal to address the scriptures.

When I read the SDA belief statement, it is clear that they (atleast outwardly) try to seperate themselves as much as possible from EW. She is mentioned nowhere. You think a prophet who started the only "remnant" church, would be central to the belief statement. But all the beliefs point directly to various scriptures for support. So why then is she so pushed within the SDA church?

I don't know, I think this marks the end of my involvement here for the time being. If anyone wants to respond to my earlier posts, then I thank you and look forward to your insights. Otherwise, I feel like I am just trying to prove that you guys are wrong. When the reality is, I have my own questions about the legitimacy of EW and figured you guys would be the ones who could answer those questions for me.

There have been many posts over the last 24 hours, too many to answer, sorry I don't have that sort of time.

I will say something though that many here seem to miss.

I am of the full opinion that everything I believe as a seventh Day Adventist is of the Bible. I came to my Beliefs From study of the Bible not Ellen White. While I do believe she was a prophet of God, She did not give me my views of the bible. In Fact I came to the Adventist beliefs of the bible before becoming an SDA and before I read anything form Ellen White.

If you were smart you would realize that debating Ellen white is fruitless.

Lets just imagine Ellen White is a false prophet for a second and that you prove this to be the case.

What have you gained? I get my belief from the bible so you have swayed me none. and your refusal to address the scriptures on what we believe suggests that your goal has nothing to do with my soul.

The very first post says lets keep it bible. It is your pride that stops you from conforming to this simple guideline. If you want to speak about Ellen White start your own thread.

Think about this, All Faith and truth comes from the bible. We believe the bible teaches something different to what you believe.

But If we are right and you are wrong then you will Judge Ellen white falsely by false beliefs. Thus disregard the truth by your own error.

So then the bible is the core of the truth, If your views hold any weight then you would need never use Ellen White to make your point but rather the bible. Just as you Don't see SDA's trying to prove their points by quoting Ellen White.

Your prideful persistence in using Ellen White to bash this thread shows that you are not hear for the purpose of this thread, and you are not here to help any SDA see what you believe to be truth. and you are not hear to understand our teachings. so why are you hear?

I will not be answering such posts any more, it is fruitless and outside the purpose of this thread.

I know some of you like to quote the title and then say what you feel it means, but you did not start this thread, read the first post that explains the purpose. If you don't like it then drop your pride of heart and don't come on this thread.

remember the world's biggest abomination started with followers of the queen of heaven, and later others trumped up doctrines to make mary the queen of heaven, without yahweh's approval, without yahshua's approval, without mary's approval - without any approval from anyone abiding in truth !

so, it is not a surprise if it happened (i don't know if it did) that ellen was 'used' (remember, like the woman who had a dream that started the false rapture theory for pastors who wanted the power and money it provided them ?!)
likewise
by
men of evil intent, against and contrary to her character and without her consent.

this has happened with men also, maybe frequently , the last 500 to 800 years, and longer.

When I read the SDA belief statement, it is clear that they (atleast outwardly) try to seperate themselves as much as possible from EW. She is mentioned nowhere. i read a long time ago, IF my memory serves me correctly, that ellen said pointedly not to follow her, not to set her up as a .... well, whatever she got set up as .... t
that it was contrary to ellen's own words and choices and purpose, that men made a monument or whatever out of her.

also, writings attributed to her, may not have been hers (as someone else posted about this) - but were changed , altered, and used by sinful men to gain more power, prestige or money.....

this happened to yahshua's own words, remember? more false religion(heresy, fake christianity) uses what he said than there is true followers on earth, by far.

Page 16 further states: “This judgment vindicates the justice of God in saving those who believe in Jesus. It declares that those who have remained loyal to God shall receive the Kingdom.” In other words, by our good works we prove that we are worthy of the salvation which was freely given in Christ. But what about those believers who commit horrible sins, deliberately disobey the commandments of God, fail to remain loyal, and follow Christ afar off? You see, SDA only works for those who are self-righteous. According to SDA doctrine, a person who lives in sin and fails to abide in Christ cannot go to Heaven. Clearly, the life one lives is a part of saving faith in the SDA religion.

Seventh-day Adventists Call God a Liar

The mythical doctrine of “Investigative Judgment” is based upon the idea of Christ analyzing each person’s life and trying to determine who is “worthy” to enter the Kingdom of God. In sharp contrast, the Word of God makes a PROMISE to every repentant sinner who calls upon the name of the Lord… “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13). Whereas the Word of God promises salvation to anyone who trusts upon the name of Jesus for salvation; SDA teaches that there is NO guarantee of salvation until Christ’s work of Investigative Judgment is complete. SDAs are calling God a liar. Whereas 1st John 5:13 says that believers can “KNOW” they have eternal life; SDAs teach that only Christ knows who is truly worthy to enter the Kingdom.

In the Bible, salvation is based upon God’s unconditional love for sinful mankind (Romans 5:8), which caused Him to send His only begotten Son into the world to pay for our sins (John 3:16); but in SDA, salvation is based upon our loyalty to God, our faithfulness to keep God’s commandments, whether or not we abide in Christ, and then of course, our faith. SDAs speak double-talk. They profess to trust completely in Jesus Christ for salvation; while simultaneously claiming that one’s loyalty to God is a critical factor in salvation.

This is very similar to the damnable Calvinist doctrine of the Perseverance of the Saints, which teaches that those who are genuinely saved will continue in the faith. Thus, in effect, holy living is required to keep one’s salvation. The problem with such sanctimonious thinking is that it ignores the Biblical reality of babes of Christ (i.e., immature believers) and backslidden believers. The Bible is filled with examples of believers who committed horrible sins, failed to remain loyal to God, failed to keep God’s commandments, failed to abide in Christ; yet, they were saved as by fire (1st Corinthians 3:15). Thank God, our salvation is not dependent upon anything we can do; but rather, upon what Jesus did at
Calvary. Our part is simply to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 16:31). Salvation is of God; not man. Eternal life is a “free gift” from God (Romans 5:15; 6:23; Revelation 22:17). Salvation is receiving; not giving.

God has promised to save anyone who believes on the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 10:13). SDAs are liars to teach a conditional type of salvation based upon one’s loyalty to God. Such doctrine is self-righteousness, which God condemns (Romans 10:3,4).

Ellen G. White and Freemasonry

Photo to Right: Founder of 7th Day Adventism, Ellen G. White's Tomb Stone. Notice the Illuminati symbol. Obelisks represent Freemasonry, clearly evidenced by the Washington Monument. George Washington was a 33rd Degree Freemason.

Ellen G. White (November 26, 1827 — July 16, 1915) is only vaguely mentioned in the preface of the SDA Church Manual. Without prophetess Ellen G. White there would be no SDA Church; however, SDAs seek to avoid the issue because Ellen G. White’s life was saturated with damnable New Age heresies and bizarre experiences. SDAs revere White’s writings as being equally inspired with the Bible.

Interestingly, Charles Taze Russell (founder of the Jehovah’s Witnesses), Ron Hubbard (founder of Scientology), and Joseph Smith (founder of the Mormon religion) were all 33rd Degree Freemasons.

Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of Christian Science, was an associate of 33rd Degree Freemason Henry Steele Olcott who founded the Satan worshipping cult called the "Theosophical Society" with evil female Freemason, mother of the New Age Movement and Hitler's spiritual guide, Helena Petrovna Blavatsky.

Satan is the god of this sinful world (2nd Corinthians 4:4) and operates through the occult to perform his works of darkness. 2nd Corinthians 11:13,14 informs us that Satan transforms himself into an angel of light to deceive people, and his sinister ministers are transformed into ministers of righteousness. Should it be surprising then that the Catholics, Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Scientologists, Christian Scientists, Seventh-day Adventists, and other religions are all OF THE DEVIL.

There is a visible, obvious, verifiable occult connection between nearly all major religions today, especially with Freemasonry.

Conclusion

Throughout this article I have referred to the Seventh-day Adventist religion with the acronym SDA; but I think SAD is a better term, because there is nothing SADDER than the SDA religion. In fact, it’s pathetically reprehensible. On page 16 of the SDA Church Manual, it states: “The completion of this ministry of Christ will mark the close of human probation before the Second Advent.” … Probation? Since when are born-again Christians on probation with God? This is the BIG LIE of Seventh-day Adventism—on the surface they profess to trust Jesus Christ, saying that Jesus’ blood is what takes our sins away, and claiming that they believe faith is all that is necessary for salvation; BUT IN REALITY, they believe that they’re on “probation” with God, and that the life they live is taken into serious consideration by the Lord, in determining whether or not they are worthy of salvation.

The SDAs I have conversed with in the past were in denial. SDAs strongly deny trusting works for salvation; but simultaneously fail to realize (or refused to admit) that the very doctrine of “Investigative Judgment” is saturated in self-righteousness and works salvation. The very notion that Christ’s work of redemption is still not finished, and that the life we live is being examined by Christ as part of His investigative work of atonement is demonic to the core. The life we live has absolutely NOTHING to do with whether or not we go to Heaven when we die. Eternal life is a “free gift” (Romans 5:15), paid for by Jesus’ literal, physical, precious blood (1st Peter 1:18,19; Hebrews 9:12). To be saved, a person need only realize their guilt of sin (Romans 3:19), being condemned under God’s Holy Law, and turn by faith to Jesus Christ to be saved and forgiven (Acts 10:43). SDAs talk a good talk; but their official doctrinal statement condemns them.

Interestingly, I couldn’t find anything about Hell or the Lake of Fire in the SDA Church Manual; in spite of the preponderance of doctrines covered in the book. Clearly they don’t believe in Hell. On page 190, the book states that the wicked will be resurrected at the end of the 1,000-year Millennium and then will be “consumed” by the same fire that God is going to use to cleanse the earth. In sharp contrast, the Bible teaches in Revelation 20:11-15 that the unsaved will be cast into the Lake of Fire forever; not consumed.

Miller messed up in 1844. You’d think today, after 164 years, that someone would finally give in and admit THEY WERE WRONG! Talk about an ego trip. SDAs have stubbornly refused to admit they’ve been wrong for the past 164 years. I think that’s a new Guinness World Record of some sort.

SDA is of the Devil—a manmade (or should I say “womanmade”) religion birthed out of confusion, panic and false doctrine. The big question is this—why follow any religion? Jesus never started a religion. Why cannot we just “SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES” as Jesus commanded in John 5:39? Religion is the worst thing that’s ever happened to this dark and dreary world of sin. Salvation is NOT found in any religion; but in a person—The Lord Jesus Christ … “To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins” (Acts 10:43).

The way one lives is part of saving faith in the Bible too!
