I enjoy finding out when I am wrong brother, it means I have come to know more truth. The truth is not so easily found in this world because people do not truly seek it before professing to have found it.
I will admit, I came here with the presupposition that Ellen White is a false prophet. Indeed, I have read about the SDA church in great depth on other websites which focus on Christian apologetics (which is not going to be the most unbiased information). Where I currently stand now is this:
I continue to consider her a false prophet simply by default because I have not the time nor ultimate desire to pour through her hundreds and hundreds of pages of writings and "visions" which she claims to have had.
If she merely claimed to be a person with insight into the Bible, then we would not even be having this conversation. Many have insights into the Bible and even the best teachers get it wrong on various things. Such is the nature of man. It's when she says her words/insights possess an authority which lies somewhere above that of men yet below that of the Word of God that I really have a problem. What does that even mean? Either it is of God or it is of man. How could it possibly be in between? I have even heard it said in some places that her words are Equal to the Scriptures.
If you do desire to stand behind her and her teachings, I will listen and consider what you have to say. But as I've said earlier, it would save alot of time if you were to put forth your own findings and thoughts. You are obviously more knowledgeable than I am in this area so I will thoughtfully consider your personal thoughts and observations. What are the most difficult and easily misunderstood or most commonly misrepresented teachings by the founders, and how have you come to realize that they actually are in line with Scripture.
