Every question you've been asked has been deflected and then you point a finger at another group that has nothing to do with they question asked. Typical Roman tactics. Just because someone is "worse" or has done something just as bad does NOT excuse the RCC and it's leaders actions. Even if the RCC has the least number of pedophilia victims of any organization of any time that does not excuse their crimes nor does pointing a finger answer a question. not quite. the rcc has killed more than the nazis. the other groups as you call them have killed their share all over the world too.

the mother of harlots was evil first, because around first. her daughters were evil after her, being born of her.

only a few rare ones, like anabaptists, and other truly peaceful groups of assemblies, have stayed true to the Gospel.

Oh I'm following the "organized collection". There are Atheist Churches and "worship" services where they sing songs of encouragement and then listen to a motivational lecture. They just don't believe in God.

Sunday I went to a 'Festival of Lessons and Carols' at the local catholic church; they let me in. I've been to a mosque once; they let me in. I've talked with atheists about religion; in a way they let me in aswell. But there's no way someone who's indifferent to Christ Jesus will 'let you in.' We go on and about the atheists, but we as christians tend to forget what constitutes the biggest threat to christianity: complete indifference to the Gospel. (Hosea 4:1) But... the bigger the threat, the bigger the challenge I say.

Religion is a system of belief and practice, it doesn't have to be a system of metaphysical belief. What Thomist is saying is that a person can be religious without being spiritual or theist. If you study something 'religiously' for instance, it is to the point of deep commitment, perhaps obsession even. That's the original meaning of 'religious' - devoted. What a person is devoted to may not include any Gods or spiritual concepts, thus a person can be religious without being theist or spiritual.

Atheism is not a rejection of religiosity in this sense, however, where Thomist slips up is that atheism IS a rejection of religion in the theist or spiritual sense, and also a rejection of God therefore.

The difference between being religious about something (adverb, adjective) as opposed to following a theistic religion (noun) is slight, in that the word religion in both instances means a practice of devotion to something, but one has theistic or spiritual connotations and the other does not.

I think this is the point and the frustration many of us have with those who defend the RCC...Evil cannot represent God...no matter what title is put on it....Any Protestant group would have shut down long ago if they had the leaders of that group systematically molesting children and then the other half covering up for them... Then when you consider the long history of the crimes of this group...how could anyone really believe they represent God? Its impossible!
