I'm just glad it wasn't my mic she threw down. Though I've never owned a $249 one before... even my measurement mic is a $50 one, not the $600 Earthworks kind. (It works just as well though... one of the few knock-offs that is as good as the original.)

Would you just play along? If you convince her to pay up, I will give you a share. :p

WHAT! You two met up?? We need details! What did you do? Besides eat Mexican food. ;) You should post this in the meet-up thread so it doesn't get lost in Streams. :) Where's the picture of both of you together, eh? I'm happy you got to meet!
Its our 3rd time meeting actually. She neede to do some xmas shopping and was going to be in the area so we walked around a big shopping center in the cold and rain haha. Was a good time and i disproved her her claims of being mean =P
Didn't know there was a meet up thread.

So...quick re-cap about my neighbors...

The people two houses down have loud music going most of the day and well into the night, they get drunk and yell at their kids using a lot of profanity, they occasionally wander over to ask if I have beer, I once caught the woman wandering through my yard, picking dandelions for dandelion wine, and they burn...well, anything they can get their hands on, I think, so there's almost always a weird smell outside because I live down-wind from them.

The woman that lives behind us has goats. And she gives them rides in her car. Like, they sit on the back seat like a dog, and go cruise around. This woman is also a self-proclaimed witch, and announced one day that she'd put a hex on the whole town. She only really leaves her house at night now, and nobody talks to her. I've had to chase her goats out of my yard numerous times...though, I don't hold it against the goats that their owner doesn't keep them properly fenced in, so I try to be nice about it...you know, "Go on, little goat...get outta here you smelly thing...stop eating that tree...go on home, kid (geddit??)".

There's an older woman who lives across the street and down two houses (right across from the dandelion thief). She has a Jack Russel terrier that she walks sometimes (usually the dog just runs around freely, but occasionally she puts a leash on her and walks her), and many mornings, I've looked out my window to see this woman standing on the corner by my house and just...standing there...looking slowly around, like she's completely forgotten where she even is. This lady also wandered into my yard one night last year, middle of winter, no coat or anything, and just stood beside the front gate and stared off into the distance. I had to go out and tell her to go home before she froze to death.

The lady that lives across the street on the opposite corner can be heard yelling at her two puppies (also Jack Russels) day and night..."JAAAASMIIIIINE!!!!!!!!!! GET BACK HERE!!! FIIIIIIIONA!!! COME IN THE HOUSE!!!" And it's funny because...they're fenced in a small yard...they're not like, across town or anything.

The guy who lives across the street from us drives a semi in the summer time, hauling hay bales for local ranchers. But every morning, all winter long, he starts up his semi and lets it sit and idle for about three hours. I don't know if that's necessary, but it's directly across from my bedroom window, and he always starts it at five a.m.

And noooow, thanks to having connections with local law enforcement, I've just found out that the neighbors up the street (two men, brothers, who are very quiet and keep to themselves (except when they wander on over to the bonfire place to have a drink or ten)...
All I can say is that there are now some very...violated...chickens living in their yard.

THIS WHOLE PLACE IS INSANE.

You forgot to finish saying what you learned about the two brothers...

And this is coming from the woman who keeps monkeys in her utensil drawer? Hmm...

Miss Grace, I do not approve of your actions. We are happy that you had something to share with all of us. We understand that ranting requires a lot of self-control and we commend you for keeping your emotions in check. Unfortunately, the way you chose to exit the stage is very disappointing. Did you know how much it costed us to buy that mic which you just threw down nonchalantly? Did you know how many hours Lynx spent hoisting the cables and setting up the audio equipment so that you could hear yourself talking? Doesn't it come across as being thankless when you throw the mic without fixing it into its stand?

It is going to be very difficult to continue running the sound & lights in this place if people abuse our audio equipments like this. As a measure of deterrence, Lynx and I have decided to fine you $249.99 towards the cost of repairing/replacing the mic. Kindly pay the money through wire transfer within 24 hours, failing which you will not be allowed to step on to the stage again. Please note that there will be an additional surcharge of 1.5% on the total amount, for every hour past the deadline.

*stomps out of the room shaking his head*
Oh... Sorry. Um hey... I found you a replacement. On eBay. For $14.95. It's from China so it may take a little longer than normal to arrive, but I'm sure it will be sufficient.

(Also, the floor waxing team wants to talk to you about your exiting procedures.)

On a completely unrelated note, today, I went out and did the unthinkable.

Please don't judge me.

No, really.

Seriously.

I bought a bag of kale chips. I have yet to open them...and I'm sorta scared to. But I keep hearing about kale, and how great it is for you. And these kale chips are raw, so they still have all of their nutrients. And you know what they say about curiosity...well, I guess I'll see soon enough whether I keel over and die or not.

OKay...just tried them.

They weren't as bad as I was going to try to make them out to be. The texture is a little weird. Definitely taste a little "green." I ate a small bit...and then a little more...and a little more...and then I decided to stop for a bit. I might eat some more later. They're oddly satisfying, like yeah, they make me feel sorta good inside when I eat them (probably because they actually have some nutrition to them).

They're better than green bean crisps, which are fried and have 0 nutritional value left, and honestly taste bad. They do no justice to fresh or stove-cooked green beans.

Will I buy them again? Good question. I'll have to answer that one later. I'll have to see how fast these go, if I finish them at all ('cause I'm kinda weird like that.)

My view on kale chips:

I had a very bad experience visiting a farm as a child.

Now I don't eat anything with "chip" in the name.

: )

It's one thing to help, another to basically pay for another's stupidity and laziness. I have my own to pay for as it is. -sigh-
