So are you saying that your June 25th would be as cold as our December 25? And do you celebrate Christmas on December 25 when it is hot summer down under? Truly wanting to know the real true answer as this Blond is curious.....Thanks..... trying to get educated in down under seasons....
Yes, depending on where you live in the US, our June 25 could be as cold as your December 25. If you live in a place with lots of snow and below-zero Celsius temperatures though, the answer is No. It rarely gets below zero in any part of Australia. Yes, we Celebrate Christmas Day on December 25 and generally it is very hot. Sometimes though, it's a very pleasant 25C or something, but that's rare. The hottest I've experienced on Christmas Day was 45C.

I was speed-grating some cheese for dinner earlier (because I hate grating cheese, and also, I was way behind on getting it cooked and was in a huge hurry), and cut my finger in the process. Because it hurt, I stood there shaking my hand for a few seconds and possibly said a word or two that could get me banned to repeat here. The ring I wear on that finger flew off and across the room and during the search for it, I stepped on a singing purple hippo and twisted my knee in an attempt to not fall directly into the Christmas tree. I ended up falling the opposite direction, which fortunately was onto the ottoman, but there were several of the big legos there, and have you ever sat down on one of those things? Don't. Ouch.

Oh! But I found my ring! And I didn't bleed in the bowl of cheese! So it was a good night.

The young adult small group(s) (we meet at 2 locations and have close to 40 people regularly involved) at my church needs a new leader. Honestly I don't think most of the members are qualified to be the leader, and of the ones that are most of us feel like we're too busy to do a good job. I feel like a heel for not wanting to step up and be the leader, but honestly I think if I do what I want I would just kind of destroy the group and create a lot of hurt feelings and broken relationships in the process. Better just to abandon ship and start my own thing than to try to overhaul the old ship. In a lot of ways we're more of a social club than a bible study anyway.

Life and faith get so much more complicated when you actually have to deal with other people.

Tonight was rough. My brother called me shortly after leaving the house saying that he totaled my dads truck. He sounded really shaken up. I drove up to see the damage. It was in a secluded neighborhood without any street lights. Oddly enough it was less than a mile away from where I totaled my car in the same manner, and on the same road.

I got there and calmly assessed the situation. No injuries, no one else involved, and no damage to anyone else's property. I walked around the truck, and in the darkness I couldn't see my brother's face, but when I passed him I heard him breathing raggedly. I asked "hey bud are you okay?" And he fell into my arms and started sobbing, just apologizing over and over. It has been years since he's been that vulnerable with me so I know he was deeply upset. :(

I just reminded him that no one is mad at him and that everything's going to be okay. We're all just happy he's safe. When I crashed my car, someone told me it was "the best car accident" I could have had. And it's true. The only thing damaged was our own vehicle. I understand his trauma, though. I remember feeling like such an irresponsible idiot, and I felt so guilty for bringing so much expense on my family. Poor guy. Im hoping he feels better soon. I'm glad I had the opportunity to be there for him tonight.

It's 2:30 in the morning and I have to be up at 6. And the people at the rehearsing studio is blasting their music so loud, it can be heard half a mile down the street. And no, I'm not exaggerating.

Here it's a drink for old ladies.
They drink (or eat ) it with whipped cream on top.

My grandma gave me some when I was about 6 yo,
that was my first experience with liquor. Not a good experience...

An amazing Rescue :)

Covered in tar & unable to move, this amazing rescue saved this dog's life! -

This video, posted by the animal rescue organization Animal Aid in India, shows a dying dog that fell into a pool of hot tar. The poor animal lies on the ground unable to move, paralyzed by the thick, hardening goo that has coated his entire body. There was nothing the animal could do but lie there and wait to die.
But then something incredible happened. Along came a group of people, who quickly took to removing the tar from his body and trying to save him.
