Be careful not to burn out. It can be hard juggling so many things at once.

Ellie Holcomb. She's a Christian artist. I'm pretty sure she's an alto. I'm an alto, and her and I seem to have a similar range.
Oh I've heard her! I always think,.."I'm going to look her up soon and listen to all her stuff" But,...never do. I like what I hear though. Maybe I'll do some of that tonight lol.

I agree with you. In India there was a regulation passed which mandated every company employing women to have a commission for sexual harassment. In case a company does not have this commission and a woman employee is sexually harassed, the company is liable for legal proceedings.

I am not sure what are the rules and regulations governing sexual harassment in workplaces in the country where WW works. I just hope everything works out well.

Me too Chris. It's hard to say what someone in another country has to go through. Rules and laws are so different in many places. I know there are many countries that still feel that woman should just put up and shut up. I pray this isn't the case with Emmy but you never know.

Good grief my brother is spoiled. Today no one was available to pick him up from school so I suggested he walked, and he started cursing at me over the phone about how stupid it was.

Things to note: today was not a "heavy backpack" day, nor did he have any additional baggage. He doesn't have to be anywhere right away so there's no rush. It's not raining/snowing/cold. It's a 15 minute walk, all downhill.

I feel old saying this, but when I was his age I walked home about 70% of the time, including when it was below 0 degrees outside and I was foolishly not dressed warmly enough.

COME. ON.

Do you ever wonder about the social dynamics about things like forums or social media? It's a place designed for antisocial (or otherwise) people to be social. Granted, I'm an introvert, and I don't mean to say this condescendingly... I'm just curious about how it works.

The more I look around, the more similarities pop up here as opposed to reality. People branch off into their own groups. Some try to be centers of attention. Some try to avoid it. Some drift in and out of different groups or activity. Some really hold solid to one thing, and watch whatever it is like a hawk, ready to defend it, rally others to the cause, or attack those opposed.

There are many other types and dynamics, but I just find it interesting that sociology, while differing, applies to the internet as well. It's also strange, because...there are many times both in reality and online, someone like me is just looking for another to talk to. You're not really searching for anything in particular, you just want somebody to share with at times. Yet, so often...for some it seems like you never meet a stranger, and then others may genuinely try to strike up a friendship and receive little more than small talk and departures.

There have been times in my life where I was a 'big fish' in a small pond. Seems like nearly everybody knew me, and at least half of those liked me more than just as an acquaintance. Then there are other times when I've been isolated and somewhat of an 'outsider' in many respects. Though I realize we're always changing, I just have to wonder what the differences are. Why is it one way at this time, and another now? Why will it change (or not) in the future? It seems strange and fascinating.

Anyway...that's what I get, I suppose. I'm a complicated mix of things, so the analytic scientist and universal philosopher/theologian in me are always observing, tearing apart, reconstructing, changing, asking, experimenting...in hopes of learning the truth and discovering the fullness of nature and reality, let alone the pieces I try to understand of God. You know what this makes me think of?

AsifinPassing: Human nature is human nature the world over. Ever heard of a site called Second Life? Basically it's a virtual world. Walking around is free, but if you want to buy a piece of "real estate" and set up a virtual house you have to pay for it. Some large companies own whole islands there.

Thing is, one of the residents of Second Life made a neat video game. It was so popular that soon almost everyone was playing it. And Second Life became slightly deserted as people stayed at "home" playing the game.

See the irony yet? People who would otherwise be out and about stay home to wander through Second Life and socialize with their online friends. Then, even in the virtual reality, they start staying "home" to play the game. Kinda sad really...

Yes, I have. It is sad, but also interesting... I couldn't get into second life. I'm not much of a sim fan. I'm more of the MMORPG type, but honestly...games and media basically just eat up our time, attention, money, etc...

So, I've been slowly trying to escape the world of escapism. It's even more difficult and ironic than it sounds...

I need to get my dog some coated baby aspirin. He's in pain and he's grumpy because of it.

AsifinPassing, if you're into MMORPGs, there's another example. That of the man who is his own guild. Yup, he has 36 accounts - some mages, some healers, some tanks - and he takes them all out in a big group. Every month he pays the membership fee times 36, and when the last expansion pack came out he was at the store at midnight to buy his 36 copies.
