There it is, Hezekiah 9:6:

I give them indefinite life and they may perish.
You added words to my post. I didn't post that scripture. Cool. You teach and have been taught that you can do what thou wilt so I guess you will do what you wilt. Wow.

Let's call it DWTW doctrine. Not OSAS. That's more fitting.

The silly argument will go on for as long as you are both willing to butt heads. You're not going to convince him, he's not going to convince you, but you're both going to groundhog-day this thing for how long? I was about to drag out the dead-horse jpg. Make your case for those who are reading along, then yield the floor and let the blowhards wear themselves out. As if they ever will, eh?

I'm with Alligator on the " You're attacking other posters that do not share your opinion and telling them they do not trust Jesus". With your ruler you're going to be measured, and, uhm, you're going to fall a little short on this one Atwood. I mean, I understand it, I was the same way when I came on, but I learned it was wrong. In the end we're all going to stand before the Throne of God having a good laugh about such foolishness. So as Viper said, in the end let's remember we're still on the same team.

And bonus points to anyone who can place that quote!

We obey the gospel by having a change of mind from non-belief to believe; and if we trusted in works (self-righteousness), we change mind (repent) from trusting in our good works to trusting the Savior.

Nothing in my hand I bring;
Simply to thy cross I cling.

We obey the gospel: believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.
Obey this for a start my friend and trust Christ to show you the way.
James 2
[SUP]14 [/SUP]What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
[SUP]15 [/SUP]If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
[SUP]16 [/SUP]And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

Wow; it sounds like you are being hardened in sin; particularly the sin of disbelief in the Savior. Do you have the evil heart of unbelief?
Even though he slay me yet will I trust him.

Eternal security means we will hold firm to the end so far as trusting Christ to save us is concerned.

God gave you something to do .What hinders you?
John 1:12
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Heb 6:9 explains that preceding apostasy verses, which concern professing Christians. The Rom 6 apostasy section begins with washings and the like which are OT practices (some of which are also NT). There is evidently an issue about Jewish persons in Jerusalem moving on from Judaism with a professed acceptance of Christ as Messiah to real trust in Christ with abandonment of Temple Worship and Old Testament behavior, moving on to distinct Church conduct.

The Word 6:9 says that the human writer is convinced of better things and things that characterize real salvation. The professed characteristics do not reach to the status of salvation. The apostates were not saved. So there is a certain type of professors (not possessors) who turn away and cannot be renewed. Judas fits this description, never saved, a man with a demon.
This is what he is convinced of
[SUP]10 [/SUP]For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
[SUP]12 [/SUP]That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Don't be concerned about my teaching, except to confirm or negate it from scripture; be concerned about the Word of God. It is the Word of God which says that believers are eternally secure; they have eternal life, and they do not perish.
John 8:29-32
[SUP]29 [/SUP]And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

[SUP]30 [/SUP]As he spake these words, many believed on him.

[SUP]31 [/SUP]Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

[SUP]32 [/SUP]And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Since all who are are saved endure to the end, then enduring is an essential characteristic of the saved. To say the saved doesn't endure to the end would be an oxymoron. How can you be saved without being saved? If a man were saved, but went to the Lake of Fire, that is absurd. He wasn't saved then. He just had a chance to be saved if he was a good boy; but that is not what the Word teaches; it teaches real salvation, eternal life and never perish.
You have it backwards my friend
Matthew 24:13
King James Version
But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
1 John 3:24
And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

2 John 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
2 Timothy 2:11-13
King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]11 [/SUP]It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:
[SUP]12 [/SUP]If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:

[SUP]13 [/SUP]If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

NewBirth, I indeed am having trouble figuring you out, just what you actually believe. Are you flip-flopping?
sorry I can't change the scripture for you...

What you posted above leads me to think that you need to trust the Lord Jesus completely with your destiny as your only and sufficient Savior.

What you or I think or do must be brought under the subjection of Christ

No verse say it is impossible for man to be faithful to God in his hearing and following. Men hear and follow of their own volition.
So you d0on't, is that what you are saying, It matters not to me that you follow the Bible to a "T" maybe. I follow the Author
The word does not set one free the Meaning from the Author, sets one free, Author God
Love you past the misinterpreted words, that even my"I" eye, misinterprets
Bottom line if it is not love from God, through ones unredeemed flesh it is not of or from God
I know what I know and have entered rest,
And I am not talking a superficial love of this world. The Love of Christ shown to us in how to walk. The same as Chirsrt walked by Faith alone, led by Father in the form of the Holy Spirit
That is all folks
Love you still, because God first loved me, and love for you, unconditionally.

who is trying to earn salvation? I (and I believe all of my brethren) are simply trying to be molded by Jesus. We are open to correction and reproof and we know that we must continue to do so. If we decide to no longer accept correction or reproof, if we cease to let Jesus have His way in us, if we cease fighting the good fight, than we aren't living a christian life. We will be known by what tree we are by our fruits.
Personally I am only concerned for what God says for me to do and say
When I am not doing what God says for me to do. God shows me, or have stepped out of line God shows me and I apologize.
But I will not be Judged by man's Judgment, I do not even judge myself. God does that.
And anyone can call me in my liberty that I use this liberty from Father through Christ as a license to sin.
And what Paul wrote about so much, tom those higher archies, that sat, and the ones today whom still sit in Moses's seat, looking all glamorous and prosperous, when they might not be saved at all, and lost as a goose in a funny looking suit
Going to Church, reading the word, being on here at CC, helping the elderly and all those good righteous things we as people do are nothing more than works in a showmanship, a look at me attitude, develops and one easily gets lost and never sees this.

Please, you all lets see the real me, add you if you want
I can do all these good works, so can you, anyone can
Now why do we not take a real look at the true us, in the flesh, behind closed doors, are we ready

What do you do, I do, behind closed doors when no one is watching? That right there brothers and Sisters, is where the rubber hits the road and the true person is revealed.
So when you think you got it together, and others are saying look at you, I want to interview your wife, your kids, your Husband, get it,
Praying we all see this and become Annihilated,in our own depravities and repent to Go in truth not error of trying to look so good, why? because none of us are, only God is
thanks for those with the Spiritual ears to hear, and thank you Father that you are not through yet in the redemption, reconciliation still offered through Son. Thanki you Jesus you did a perfect bang up Job
Romans 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
2 Corinthians 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

We are disgusting eternal security. You quote a passage that says nothing about salvation or eternal life.

Abiding in the vine is fellowship, not salvation.
Don't misapply a parable about fellowship and chastisement.
How can you have eternal life without fellowship
1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

[h=3]1 John 2:23-25[/h]King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]23 [/SUP]Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
[SUP]25 [/SUP]And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

If my faith becomes slothful? If I lose my salt? my passion? if I forget my first love? MAN, LETS PREACH FIRE!! LOVE!! DESIRE FOR JESUS!! LETS BURN OUR LAMPS BRIGHT FOR CHRIST!! Lets unite brethren and make something happen!! lol in the words of captain planet.. "WITH OUR POWERS COMBINED!" ;)
Let us each work out our own salvation in fear and trembling, and hear each other in edification and let us each com=ndmen our selves not each other

Have any of us taken a look at ourselves behind closed doors yet, exposing the real you. If one does not see this. Ask your kids, your wife, your closest friends who see yours and mine depravity, behind closed doors
And stop, not slow down and repent between God and you, personally. Then the milk and honey from God might flow through me, you and all who see their depraved self behind closed doors

What about the angels that fell? God gave them free will as we have. They chose to no longer dwell in heaven.
So are we going to Thank God for free choice? And will anyone here misinterpret what I just asked?
Waiting you all, are we glad for free choice? Even though there are those that will not be with God by their own, individual free choice?

It means you ain't saved anymore.
Not so sure about not saved anymore? Maybe never left the milk and only chewed the meat, never swallowed and walked away, actually never came to full term in born again.
Hebrews 5:11-6:9, does a perfect explanation on this, if one listens to God and not self and mankind, trusts God for the meaning and if God permit.
Read it and ask, and beg, and do not give up to come to full term as a worm does in a cocoon, has Metamorphosis and when ready breaks out of the coccon as a Butterfly.
One thing about when one is born again, like the Butterfly, it may not do all the right things or go all the right places, and get killed
Yet one fact is a fact
It will never be a worm again,
Thank you Jesus for your finished work for us, I exercise this daily and appreciate it, knowing what a wreck I am. Just sin once in anything with out Faith and I an shown what I deserved as a worm, which is waht keeps me in humility, thank you

Exactly. God keeps us as long as we are willing to stay. But He won't keep us prisoner if we choose to leave.
Yet, brother if you are ready and your cocoon is broken to come out as God made you as a born again Butterfly, from the worm family, that could only crawl on the ground, you won't ever be a worm again. You can still crawl on the ground though and act like a worm.
I am talking to me, after being born again, just seeing the futility in crawling on the ground as I did in trying to do good works

The meaning I get out of that is there is no more forgiveness to be given any of us after Christ, you are forgiven, and if you sin again, you still are forgiven.
If you or I ask for more forgiveness, you and I are calling God a liar, we are crucifying The Lord Jesus Christ all over again, to an open shame, in place of the triunph
read on and read from Hebrews 5:11 to put this all together and stop playing Church as if we are somebody, when we are not.

God is Faithful we are not, and so you act as if your Nephew has something to do with God saving us through Chirst
If Nephew ever really believed, and not just by his lips, with his heart and is astray, he will return
Hey Peter Satan wishes to sift you like wheat, Hey you all, is this the same for you Satan sifting you or trying to?
Then Jesus said to Peter, But I pray for thy Faith, and when you return, you will strengthen the Brethren

Do you see the work in progress, not to those that worship just with their lips, those that worship with their hearts. Peter did and did not understand. Saul did and id not understand. We do and do not understand what only God can reveal to me, you and others only personally
Thank you Father, thank you Jesus

[SUP]37 [/SUP]If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
[SUP]38 [/SUP]But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
[SUP]39 [/SUP]Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,

John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Oh,ok. So we should disregard about 75% of the New Testament that says otherwise.

Interpreted:
Turn form Mercy and try by good works to get Mercy from others when one already has it from God and does not give it, still selfish in to thinking how shall I survive and then act all Churchy
I remember a prostitute that wanted help, had repented in her heart and went to Church for help? You decide what has happened to grace in our holier than thou Churches
Who did Jesus hang around? The dressed up people, that looked all well. What did he say to them at the feast in Luke 14.
Do we have those same types of people here today, am I one of them, are you or you. Decide and ask and see our need, our own depravity, not those of others, but use those analogies and look at self and ask God for help, Mercy, not Sacrifice
Matthew 9:13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
So let us each examine ourselves and quit the examination of others, see our own depravities and need for the Savior Jesus Christ

Can we all do this and help each other in this depravity we all are here on earth in?

even the demons believe and tremble.
problem with the Demons is, maybe, you think, they do not exercise the Faith. Kind of like going top a gym, you are there, butr you do not exercise. So one is out of shape and is in a role as an actor, looking, good and shiny, but there is no life in those that do not exercise their Faith in God through Son Christ is there
there is fools gold and real Gold is there not?
