Presley: I can see that you really deep down appreciate this means of communicating a personally motivated witness to Scripture!

Do you know if he has opportunities to talk to people about those Scripture verse tattoos?

Blessings.

Oh all the time!!! He always shows them off and and tells people about them.

Presley: Is this something that you would maybe like to do eventually as well (though you're not planning as many as his)?

Blessings.

Oh yes! I have a few bible verses that I have thought about having tattooed on me.
One of them would be written in cherokee language as well

Presley: For the believer, the priority is to 'let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom' (Colossians 3.16). This comes first for us all, whether or not some believers also choose to get verses or verse references inked also. So you're thinking eventually of the possibility of having it done a few times with Bible verses?

Interesting about the Cherokee language verse; are you of partly Cherokee heritage yourself, maybe? Perhaps you would especially like tribal-style lines on tattoos.

Blessings.

Yes If I get a few tattoos other than the on for my leg they will be all bible verses.

Yes I am part of the cherokee tribe ^-^
I'm about to start learning how to speak, read and write in the language.
As far as tribal tattoos.. I do like them but the only tattoos I want are bible verses and the bible on my leg.

For me, getting inked takes a lot of time because I think so much about what I want.

PS:

Toska: Yes, planning does take time and rightly so, a bit like Presley (Pres19) is doing, seemingly also. Maybe you guys should compare your plans! :)

Blessings.

Presley: Sometimes writing - including Bible verses - can be expressed in calligraphy recalling tribal design, anyway.

It's great that Bible verses have such as priority with you, as possibilities.

So do you think that your mom's Cherokee heritage has influenced some of her tattoo designs?

Blessings.

Nope my moms tattoos have nothing to do with being cherokee lol.

And yes he is 1/2 cherokee. :)

Presley:

I know a lot of people get tattooed anyway, but I'm wondering if an especially high proportion of Cherokees like to get tattooed? (Maybe not necessarily....)

But I reckon you yourself are doing it for Christian reasons...

Blessings.

I'm still thinking what my first tattoo should be, I want: Icthus fish, simple cross, "saved by grace, through faith" and "pray without ceasing"

Kristin:

Well, this is a very nice idea; thanks for your comment. The Christian fish symbol <>< is very well liked among Christians, whether as jewelry or as a tattoo or whatever. Faith based tattoo designs are also well proven to be effective as conversation-starters in witness.

Those verses are excellent also; they express the Christian life well.

So is there a good parlor near you?

Blessings.

There actually is one about 3 min. from my house, I just need to make up my mind and save up some money :)

Kristin: Oh, well, if you have one that is so close it will be easy for you to check it out!

I don't know about Iceland, but in North America tattoo parlors are not known for doing 'hard sells', or trying to persuade customers to get tattooed before they are sure. In other words, a parlor should be a place where people can check things out without any obligation.

Sounds like you haven't visited yet? Here, in North America people don't just visit after they have decided; going there beforehand is all part of the process to help the person decide, because they know they are unlikely to be pressured.

Blessings, farouk

PS: Presley:

Hope your Cherokee language studies go well! It's rather different from English; much more different than Spanish is.

I guess with your heritage it will seem especially important to be tattooed using Cherokee Scriptures, right?

Blessings.

Well I'm doin it more for it will look beautiful.
The verse it's self is beautiful so I want it to look that way. And cherokee writing looks beautiful to me.
Plus the verse is very meaningful just like my cherokee heritage.

Presley: Is it for the 'We walk by faith, not by sight' verse that you're planning?

Blessings.
