It probably isn't in the news yet, but the case they are protesting about was in the news. Basically the state court decided that a christian baker can refuse to make a cake for a gay couple who wants to get married.

What to you two think about baking for someone on their second, or third wedding? (Unbiblibal divorces) I think that's the problem I have with the bakers' offense. I believe the baker should be able to turn down customers - it would be horrible to have to deny convictions by law.

But I also see it from the side of the homosexuals, in that if you're not being consistent and turning away what Jesus labels as adulters, (and claim you support biblical marriage), then either you think divorce is not sinful/permissible no matter what, or you are simply discrimating and it has nothing to do with belief, but ignorance.

Kind of like those people who are looking for a reason to protest in Arkansas today? My friend is a guard at the State Capitol in Arkansas, and he told us about all the trouble they're having over there right now.
So I googled "Arkansas Wedding Cake" and this is what it came up with,
[you learn something new every day]:

"Arkansas Wedding Cake
Sliced white sandwich bread. Usually used to sop up the remains on a plate or to wipe the mouth. Edible napkin:

We had a lovely meal of fried chicken and gravy. I grabbed some Arkansas Wedding Cake, wiped my mouth, and ate it" Urban Dictionary: Arkansas Wedding Cake

So I don't see what all the fuss is about, lol.

Sadly I don't drink, but I wouldn't mind having KFC for breakfast. :)

There ain't nothing sadly about not drinking, believe you me. The people I know who drink regularly are always less happy than the people I know who don't. I tried it myself, gave it a fair trial of a few months of getting drunk on the weekends, even looked up advice online about how to avoid the downsides of it, and finally decided it wasn't the way to go.

Speaking of which, I still have a full bottle of vodka that it seems I'm never going to use. Maybe I'll take it out back, pour a trail and light the thing up like a bomb. One of the good things about living out in the country, you can do stuff like that without hurting anyone or getting anyone upset and calling the police.

Good grief, this thread has gone far afield, and it seems to be primarily my fault.

Sorry y'all. The thread topic is "Your perfect wedding?"

I don't think there will be champagne at my wedding. There will probably be ginger ale/sherbet punch though.

LOL!

Wherever did you find that? It's great! That could be the traditional groom's cake. (But make it chocolate and orange, not coconut.)

Something intimate, preferably on the beach at sunset, something that included my children (and theirs if they had any), and something that feels more like a family gathering than a stuffy formal reception. I'm okay with music so folks can dance if they so choose. To me, a wedding should be more about God, the couple, and those that are closest to them. I don't need my cousins friends, their moms, and so on and so forth.

Of course this requires me to actually be romantically linked to someone.

I've always been of the mindset that while it is both mine and my wife's special day, that she will more than likely be the one to really want something or to plan it out. The truth of the matter is that when I have that moment, where I look her in the eyes, and my heart turns to Jesus, to plea for the strength, obedience, and wisdom to lead her closer to Him, and to praise Him for the joy of stewarding one of His daughters.... There isn't anything else that I'm worried about... Is that wrong?

You aren't alone, I have plenty of guy friends who could care less about location and decorations. I know women who don't care either.

Yes, well, big decisions like a baby, or to take that job offer, or other "big" things are not everyday things, like how to squeeze toothpaste, lol. It may be little, but if you just stuff it down, all these little annoyances add up.
Well, she surely saw things (on me) she didn´t mention here or elsewhere and I myself won´t mention my faults or hers to bash out. That little "fox" of the toothpaste reminded me a simple movie I saw and I bet any person who have divorced (or have been left) gave their spouse (any) more than one reason to split emotionally and divorce legally because of those annoyances they ignored untill the day they lived together.

The perfect wedding could be that were both partners had explored those areas enough to be sure they really matched.

I don't expect to ever get married either, but have a love for weddings (could be where my family's been planning my wedding since I was born, got my wedding dress at four).

I would love a totally non-traditional wedding in many aspects (white bridesmaid dresses suitable for them, gold wedding dress, no cutting cake, not in a church, etc.) still it would be cool to have some cultural traditions in a wedding ( I really like Chinese, Jewish, and Indian weddings-though I'm not none of those).

I would like tons of cherry blossom trees and a very spring like kind of wedding. I also think Washington D.C., a wedding there would be beautiful!

Ok, back to reality... I hope my bridesmaid dresses don't look too bad! I want to support my friends, but some of them have bad taste.

No.. Usually the man wants to plan the honeymoon anyway.. And you are focused on the marriage itself and it's beautiful....

If I were ever to remarry...

Ditto... Exactly... Though I do want purple and gold colors in there... And I want to wear white since at this point I'm more virginal than most new brides theses days
And I never got to wear white or walk down some kind of aisle or even have an actual wedding or wedding ring lol . If I marry again God will be in it this time.
