With all the titles in the polls for various chores, it reminds of someone I used to know who had a stay-at-home mom.

She used to say, "Don't call me a Housewife--I'm a Domestic Engineer!", which I thought was pretty clever. :)

But what happens if no one wants to, or is willing, to do things like clean the bathroom?

I have to admit. It would definitely become an issue (to me at least) if there were chores that needed to be done that neither of us wanted to do, but that he always left for me to do just because he was unwilling to do them.

Sorry, but I'm not getting married in order to be a maid (unless, of course, I somehow stayed at home all the time, but I personally don't see how couples can make it without two incomes these days, especially if kids are involved.)
" but what happenes if no one wants to" I have never waited around to see if anyone wanted to. (that would be a long wait.LOL...) If something had to be done I would do it . ( I did the same at work.) I like to come home to a clean home. where I can relax so I would do it for me... It's the same way with my daughter. She asks if I want to start cleaning and my response is that I never want to start cleaning, I just have to. And she just goes on and cleans. I guess she she gets it. No one I have never met Likes to clean. We just like it when it is. LOL!!!

I love a clean house, a clean car, a clean everything. I try to always put things away and keep things tidy so the need for cleaning is minimized, but I don't mind doing the cleaning either. I practically have cleaning down to a science. Sometimes I even detail my model car collection. I believe a clean space is energizing and helps keep one's mind organized, focused and positive. Of course things tend to get a little messy at times, but I try to keep messes to an absolute minimum.

As far chores, I'd expect her to clean up after herself (don't leave food out on the counter, dishes on the table, don't leave stuff laying around, etc.), and I'd like her to do some cooking.. although I would like to do a lot of the cooking myself. I enjoy watching cooking shows and I know how to prepare a few dishes. Cooking is really an expression of love.

I'd handle trimming trees and keeping the lawn looking nice and trimmed, but any gardening or planting is on her...

I'd also handle all the mechanic stuff (oil and spark plug changes, detailing, performance upgrades lol) . In fact, I'd want the garage to look like a meticulously clean workshop..

Luckily it's not the only expression of love. :sneaky:

As far as taking out the trash, I would do it since I've never lived anywhere where i didn't have to do it. Why start now, right? :sneaky: I think my mind would explode from too much joy if I ever didn't have to take the trash out.

As far as pets... I've taken care of two dogs and a cat until they passed away and I miss them very much. :( If she wants any pets she will have to take care of them because I don't want anymore pets because it's too heartbreaking for me when they die. I do have two aquariums with tropical fish in them. I still get sad when one dies though. By the way, one of my fishes actually gave birth last weekend! Now there's like 20 baby fishes swimming around. I don't know what i'm going to do with them all. There's too many lol.

I have no idea.....I clean a lot but I'm not a clean freak, i don't have a problem cleaning UNLESS you're super specific. My sister will have like one drawer for things like wooden spoons and spatulas but she wants them seperated? WHY? I don't like folding clothes.....maybe it's me being lazy but why should i fold clothes for an hour when I'm gonna mess them up when i have to go to work a day later? I do use like a tote though so if i had drawers ig it would be different. Hmmm if she could cook SHES BAE food is great, i can cook decently but my sister( another one) cooks like everything from scratch and it's fire so every now and then if she could do that I'd appreciate it. Sweeping it annoying rn we have cats and kids so we sweep like 9 times a day so i hate that too lol. I don't have a problem doing most house stuff since both my mom and my sister are clean freaks but if she could help everynow and then, and just not be a slob I'd appreciate it. Ig all i would ask her to do is homeschool...that's hard though so hopefully, when i can, i can do whatever i can to help. Work out with me? I'd appreciate that too. Oh oh if she could do my retwist! Ig if she could remind me of stuff sometimes that could be a thing....i forget stuff a lot but i have alarms on my phone so i don't NEED that. OH WAIT i like almost never put up the dishes lol i always like cram as much as i can in the dish rack admittedly i need to fix that but if i didn't have to put them up that'd be dope.

I take out the trash in my sleep.. It's like making coffee in the morning.( I am programmed). And I am still working on getting my daughters Gold fish from the fair home without dying along the way...

One thing I RARELY do, because I loathe it so much, is wash and wax my car. :poop:
When I say rarely wash my car, I mean about twice a year. At the car wash.
And when I say it about waxing my car...I think I've done it once since I bought it 7 years ago.
So, if and when I get married again, it's a chore that I will gladly relinquish. (y)

Laundry. Oh how I LOATHE laundry. Laundry represents everything that is wrong in this world.

Laundry is a DIRECT result of the fall of man. When sin wasn't in the world we didn't need clothes. What a PERFECT world. But Adam and Eve couldn't say no to that dang fruit....they had it soooooo good but nooooo...we couldn't keep sin or laundry at bay. Sigh.

Maybe my future man will do the laundry for me.
