Ive written so much on CC that I could have written a book if I had not written on CC but, I dont think ppl are much interested in stories from my life, its actually a bit boring.

I was reading a bio about Roald Dahl and he did have an interesting life although he probably embellished it which was why he was a born storyteller.

It is said librarians and teachers hated him but it would be like todays teachers and librarians hating a best selling author just because they are popular. (Like they did with JK Rowling and Harry Potter)

If we just told stories about our mundane everyday lives it would be completely boring, i.e I got up, had breakfast, brushed my teeth, got dressed, went to work, did work, had lunch, did some more work and then went home again, had dinner and slept. lol

I don't think that you are boring at all, but rather interesting and often amusing. Most of my posts are based on seemingly mundane things or events. Perhaps I'm a bit of a bore too. Or not.

In the year that I have been here, I would say that you are consistent and have been a calming influence . . . which is a great role to have. And, I thank you for that.

I don't want to write a book. I'm just curious about how one would do it.

If God told you to write a book, what would you do?

I suppose that much could be said about this. First, one would have to have a story that others would want to read. It would also make sense to pre-qualify with a publishing company, to see if they believe there would be substantial interest and if they'd be willing to "push" and support it. One would need to be generally good with words and have a decent vocabulary; knowing how to structure written materials. Lastly, I would think that finding a quality editor would be critical as well.

When my time comes, and it may be soon, this is the likely path that I will follow.

You'd pay (or the publisher would pay for) a ghostwriter if you had an interesting story but you didnt want to write it all yourself, most autobiographies are actually written that way, because the usual famous ppl dont actually have time to sit down and WRITE a book

and many authors who write their own books have very good editors to help them craft the best writing.
and sometimes they may give you an illustrator as well

the publishing house, if its a decent one, would give you an advance and royalties on the books sold so you dont have to handle all the selling and marketing and distribution yourself. But you would need a good manuscript editior, and an agent so they could shop around for the best publisher for you, most authors face many rejection slips before they get published. A way to start is to write articles for magazines though, many journalists end up being decent authors, though they may not be the best storytellers...story tellers have a way of writing that draws you AND gives you the best ending, or keeps you interested to go back for more i.e. a series.

unfortunatley in the current climate its very hard for unknown first time authors to get a start, you already need to have fame and a platform it seems. Sometimes it does depends on who you know.
